Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

Kiah: HP = 56, PP = 68, EP = 38, Status = Fine

The dirty little man froze in place at Kiah's command, shivering visibly to the perceptive woman, and waited next to the door. Her adoption of a commanding tone caused Angelina to offer a nod that quickly and almost imperceptibly became a quick bow, and she respectfully said; "Yes milady." The elf had apparently fallen into her role well, and offered Kiah a leadership role in their little charade as well, as she followed Kiah's command quickly and efficiently. Darting out at a jog that was nonetheless completely silent, the fiery-haired woman moved to the left-hand side of the stable and disappeared around the corner.

She was left alone with the alleged groundskeeper for several long moments, something that the man didn't seem to enjoy in the slightest given that he was a white as a ghost and stood against the wall of the shack in which they'd found him as if her sword was still against his throat. About four minutes that passed in silence unless Kiah opted to speak later, Angelina and Anna came around the side of the barn that the elf had earlier disappeared behind, the latter following the former. "You called for me, milady?" the human woman said with a mix of amusement and respect, and once Kiah had responded to that however she liked, she and her comrades were free to follow the groundskeeper into the tower just as soon as they told him that they wanted to go, a decision that was again left to the cloaked huntress.

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

Kiah spent the few moments examining her claws, and the edge of her sword, always keeping the man in sight. She was almost casual in the way she stood there, though her entire body was tensed, ready for a fight.

When the others returned she looked up without any real expression on her face. "Excellent. The others could use a small rest, sharpen their weapons. Let's have a chat shall we?" the huntress said, and turned to face the man once more.

"Well? Be on with it, lead on," she snapped at him.

Rolls
Perception: ???

The shivering man nodded and turned towards the tower immediately at her command, and both Anna and Angelina fell into step beside her. There was a good bit of open ground between the tower itself and the end of the outer buildings, all of it completely exposed to anyone with a decent vantage point... Such as through the windows into the tower. Kiah felt Angelina tense as they entered the open ground, though Anna just kept on walking with a broad grin on her face. Thankfully, the crossing was uneventful barring a moment in which Kiah thought that she spotted movement in one of the windows, a phenomena that never repeated itself.

The man reached the door first, and drew back a large brass knocker that looked far too shiny to be old even though the rest of the tower was still fairly decrepit. He banged the thing three times and then waited, silence reining in the courtyard for a moment before the door was opened for them. A man stood in the doorway, clad in a fine suit that was somewhat dirty, though recently so, who looked at the ruddy little man, and then at Kiah and her companions, and said with some reprieve in his tone; "You were told not to allow guests near the tower unless invited, Rufus." Turning to Kiah, who stood in the middle of their group, he then said in a completely calm voice; "May I help you with something, madame?"

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

"I think you might. We're looking for something, a book, in this tower. We were told it was abandoned. Now, as much as my company might see you all as a threat, I'm thinking there might just be some misunderstanding. So... would we be able to take a look around?" Kiah asked politely, letting some of her succubus nature slip into her voice, letting hints of sensuality curl through each word.

She kept her sword by her side, and stood in as non-threatening a manner as she could without leaving herself defenseless. One hand settled on her hip as she looked towards the suited man. Something was very, very wrong.

While the man she'd threatened seemed immune to her charms, it seemed that either this man was not, or that he was simply fairly polite, as he offered Kiah a soft smile as she spoke. "Your information is outdated I'm afraid," he began gingerly, "But not by much. Our employers," he glanced at the groundskeeper, who was fidgeting in the space between Kiah and her companions, and the suited man, "...have only just moved in a short while ago, and we haven't had reason or opportunity to make our presence known to the locals just yet.

"We have no desire for violence here, and so long as you agree to abide by that, you may wait inside while I awaken my mistress and deliver a request for an audience. This place is quite dangerous still after so many years of neglect, but many of the treasures here are of no use to the family, and I suspect that you'll be able to come to an agreement of some sort regarding the item that you seek." The man stopped, awaiting a response from Kiah.

"I'm glad we can come to a peaceful end to this. I would much appreciate a meeting with your mistress," Kiah replied with a slight nod of her head, before glancing to the grounds keeper.

"Apologies for the rude awakening. But one can never be too careful," she said gently, and slowly she slid her sword within its scabbard, though she glanced towards her companions and gave the slightest shake of her head.

"Very good. If you'll just wait in the drawing room, I'll go and see to the mistress while Rufus here can return to his duties," the man said happily in reply to Kiah's agreement, though the groundskeeper was somewhat less charitable in his response to her apology. "Next time, maybe you oughta think a bit before yah pull the sword out? Just a thought, not sure if you get those!" he replied, and then departed hastily back towards his cottage, Angelina scowling at his back the whole way. "My apologies for him.... Rufus is a rough man. If you'll just step inside, I'll show you someplace where you can get a bit more comfortable while you wait!" the door man said, and if Kiah was agreeable to waiting inside rather than out, she would be led into the battered old tower with her companions following close behind, both of whom were silent.

The inside of the place was dark and dreary enough to wipe the smile off of Anna's face, but it looked to have been cleaned recently despite the still ruinous state of the ornamentation. "Apologies for the state of the place, we haven't exactly been expecting guests~" their guide stated as he led them down a curving hallway and into a small room with another door on the end. The tower went farther on the ground floor than it looked like from the outside, apparently, because the room into which they were led had flat walls rather than curved ones. It was windowless, and filled with somewhat ratty furniture, but it was there that Kiah found something she'd seen for the second time that day; a man reading.

He was sitting down in one of the room's many padded chairs, the one that seemed to be in the best shape of the lot, but he looked as if he'd be fairly tall standing up. He was clothed in faded finery in dark colors, and they set of his pale skin, black hair, and clean angular features quite nicely. He was leaned back slightly, one leg resting on the other in a crossed position that looked like it would have been uncomfortable to any normal person, and as she and her comrades walked in he didn't so much as glance away from his book to observe them. The doorman smiled somewhat thinly at him and opted to make an introduction, "Sir Ankieseth, the eldest son of the family~ These are our first guests! They're.... Actually, what should I introduce you as? I forgot to ask in all the excitement!" He'd turned to her, and once Kiah gave him her name, her companions doing so as well unless the half-demon opted for a lie of some sort that involved them not being named, he departed to notify his mistress of their presence in her tower.

That left her, Angelina, and Anna alone with the man sitting in the corner, quietly reading his book.

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

Giving her name to the man, Kiah politely bowed her head as her companions introduced themselves. There was no need to lie about names; they shouldn't be too well known.

"Good read?" Kiah asked to try and start some form of chatter with this man before the mistress of the tower arrived. She carefully wandered around the room, letting her eyes take everything in, fingers drifting casually over the walls.

"Oh yes," the man replied bemusedly from his chair, still not looking up from his book. His voice was rich and pleasant, albeit fairly arrogant. Anna beheld him with a frown from her position near the door while Angelina did much the same as Kiah - survey the room and its ruinous contents - thus leaving the hooded half-demon to do the brunt of the talking. "It's just getting into another sex scene, and this one looks to be actually good!"

That gave Angelina a moment's pause, quirking a curious eyebrow at their fellow guest, but he gave no further information without some prodding. The room in which they'd been left to wait was fairly boring, possessing a handful of chairs and couches, a cracked table in the center, and a dilapidated grand piano sitting in the corner. There was another door on the opposite side from the one they'd entered through, but it was closed, and if Kiah opted to test it she would find that it was locked. The door they'd entered from was still wide open, however, so there didn't seem to be any chance that they'd been locked in with the strange man who was sinking increasingly deeper into his chair. Reading the spine of his book, the title of it seemed to be; 'The Golden Cat.'

"The Golden Cat eh? What's it about?" she asked curiously after stepped away from the locked door. She found a chair for herself and sat in it, adjusting quickly for her hidden tail pressing up against the curve of her ass. Might as well poke him about it until the apparent mistress of the tower arrived.

"Mostly humping," the man replied off-handedly as he turned a page, "Really the justifications for the smut are often pretty flimsy! There's some plot about finding some artifact that can help the lead adventurer girl revive her husband or something.... But with the way that she fucks around in this I have to wonder why she'd even want to bother. Some of it's honestly pretty bad too, but this one's going pretty good so far! It's not every day that one gets to imagine two women desperately licking one another on top of a moving carriage.... When it's on fire."

His tone had been entirely conversational the entire time, but his words had Anna choking back a fit of giggles while a mildly blushing Angelina scoffed, "What? That doesn't make any sense!" The man smirked, "I know right? This isn't even the weirdest story I've found in the old codger's library either! Whoever used to live here was the biggest perv I've ever met! Some of the things in this one even put my sisters to shame!"

"Your sisters eh?" Kiah said somewhat teasingly, before turning her gaze to Angelina, lips curling in a playful smile at the poor Elf's seeming embarrassment, before letting her attention return to the man.

"A whole library full. Well I may take a peak then," the succubus said idly, moving again to the shelves, now inspecting the spines, seeing if any had titles written upon them. A tome in knowledge hidden in a tower full of pornography. This little task was getting weirder with each step she took.

Hopefully the end result was a pocket full of coin, and possibly a good night of fucking. Rather than a steel blade across her throat.

"Biggest pair of sluts that I've ever met!" he proclaimed bemusedly, "They've had no one to play with since we got here, and it's been driving them both mad with boredom. They've even taken to going at each other! I had to come all the way down here just for a little peace and quiet! Honestly, what will the neighbors say when they find out?" Every word was spoken with a tone of utter amusement, and it was fairly obvious that he didn't actually care one bit about public opinion. "I can point out the good ones if you like," he suggested idly while Kiah idly searched the shelves, finding a number of odd titles among the ones written in languages (and sometimes alphabets) that she didn't recognize and the tomes that were most likely about some sort of arcane lore.

The Rowdy Barmaid, Selena's Bedroom, and Captain Hardy's Adventures in the Amazon were just a few of those apparently on offer, but as she searched a loud, drawn out, feminine moan echoed down into the small chamber from somewhere up above. "That would be one of them.... Natalia by the sound of it, though it can be hard to tell with the echo," their blond gust stated, smirking and looking up from his book for the first time. Angela was blushing all the brighter now while Anna was now barely holding back a fit of giggles while hiding a similar discoloration as it spread across her cheeks.

Seconds later they were no longer so alone, as a woman strode confidently into the room and scanned Kiah and her companions with her deep red eyes. Her hair was the same shade of platinum blonde (drawn up into a bun on the back of her head with three braids left to curl down around her shoulders) as the man seated in the chair, who gave her a wave as she entered before returning to his reading, and she was similarly quite pale, her unblemished skin the color of pure moonlight. There was a good amount of it on display courtesy of her strapless black dress as well, and as she stepped aside to admit the butler Kiah noted that the sides were slitted up to about halfway up the thigh as well, as she caught sight of a single ruby slipper and a good deal of leg when the newcomer stood aside.

She addressed the man in the chair first, in a tone that was both amused and reproachful; "Seth, what are you doing here? Are you reading that old wizard's lewd tripe again? I swear once this place is properly cleaned up, I'm going to go up into that damned library and see that the lot of that junk is burned!" Ankieseth merely rolled his eyes and replied; "Oh you're yellin at me for having a laugh at some old pervert's collection when those two are goin at it full tilt up there? I see how it is, that's real fair mother~" The woman pouted and gave a mock scowl as she said; "Yes! You should be finding more productive uses of your time! Just look at how efficiently Natalia and Sindel are! Why, they've been filling the tower with such beautiful music ever since we got here!"

The two shared a chuckle at that, and then the woman turned to Kiah and eyed her up, "So, I assume you're the one that Jeeves here told me about? You wanted permission to look for something in here, right? I am Selena Minileye Celothien, the Lady of the House. Might I inquire as to what precisely you're looking for, why you're looking for it, and what you've brought that might be worth trading for it? If you intended to offer either of these two, I'm afraid that I don't support slavery in any form." Anna and Angelina both suddenly looked a whole lot less amused and embarrassed respectively, and they looked to Kiah given the role that the half-demon succubus had taken in their masquerade.

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

Kiah watched as the woman came in, not bothering to hide her wandering eyes as she looked over the creamy skin. A small smirk of approval played on her lips, though she could always pretend it was at the sound of moans fluttering through the stone.

Then came the talk of trading.

"Trade? You're squatters as far as the town is concerned, indeed they even think you might be ghosts. Why should I be concerned with trade? Especially not my companions. Mayhaps we can come to some simple arrangement, but I'm looking for a book," Kiah started, pulling one of the arcane tomes off the shelf and leafing through it carefully, strolling carefully closer to this newly arrived woman as her fingers flipped pages she couldn't read.

She held it up, showing the red leather cover to the woman, a look of intrigue upon the succubus' face before she set it down gently on a nearby table, and tapped her finger on the leather.

"A very specific book mind you. Green cover, blue text, dead language. Now, it's the blue text that should make it distinguishable. How many books are written in ink not black asides those fancy first letters monks scribble with. I'm looking for this because I'm being paid to look for it, so no my presence here is no more legal than your own," Kiah continued and stopped before the woman, and let an appreciative gaze curl around her form.

"Finally, Selena, who exactly am I speaking with? It is alright if I call you Selena right darling?"

The woman's smile twitched slightly as Kiah referred to her as a squatter, and when she held up the book her hostess replied; "Not that book I assume?" Her voice was casual and still held its laughter, but there was a tiny change in tone that made it seem a good deal less friendly. Listening to Kiah's description of her book caused no change in the woman's expression, nor any hints that she recognized it.

Cracking a brief smile at Kiah's made-up name for her, the woman replied; "Only if you'll come up and see my bedroom, sweetheart~" Offering her a suggestive wink, Selena continued; "I assure that that book is mostly false. As you can see, my chest isn't nearly large enough to smother a man to death~" She gestured to her breasts, the size of which made that idea debatable rather than outright false.

"But yes, on to seriousness; I do indeed have ample right to this place, more so than you do at the very least. It was abandoned when we arrived, and we claimed it as our own. That's not squatting, that's salvage. I could care less whether you or the locals care to dispute me, as you have no ability to enforce any claims otherwise. We got here first, and no disputing claim with greater legitimacy has been made, so everything in this tower is ours by right. That is the law. If you are unwilling to deal in fairness then you will leave here empty handed. Attempt to take what you have by force, and you won't be leaving at all. Do I make myself clear?"

She waited a moment, eying Kiah significantly while the half-demon's comrades suddenly became very nervous. That emotion transferred to the man who'd been in the room when they'd arrived, as he slowly closed and set aside his book, the smile that had been on his face up until then gone, a completely neutral look in its place. "Now, that said, I'm sure that we can reach an agreeable relationship. I haven't found this book that you speak of, but you'll be free to go up and look for it if you'll simply do a few things for me. Firstly, when you get back to town, notify those bafoons of our existence. I'd rather not have some lunatic adventurer come up here in the dead of night to investigate the "haunted ruins" attacking my servants or family members. Secondly, and this is as much for your own benefit as for mine, don't say anything else that could constitute a threat against me or mine. It makes me very.... Agitated.

"Finally, there is the matter of exchange. On the one hand, there are a number of things to do around here that need taking care of, and getting someone else to do would make my life much easier. So, if you'll take your two friends here and go clean out the basement of anything dangerous, you'll have your -supervised- pick of the library. There are some overgrown spiders down there, along with whatever this tower's former occupant was experimenting on. Of course, if you're not interested in getting your hands dirty, you could just pay for it. I don't know how valuable it is, but I suppose thirty in common coin would just about cover it.... Or if you'd rather get a different sort of dirty, we could take this discussion upstairs~"

"That third option is always a possibility, but we'll clear the basement for you. Besides, might very well be down there. Still... possibility," Kiah said, and let her eyes roam over the woman once more. She kept calm, cool, with just a hint of sexuality in her tone.

She knew she was out of her league with this woman, just a sense curling up her spine, but no need to show that. Besides, sometimes a well placed tongue could earn more rewards than a blade to the neck.

"I'll let the town know you're here. As for the threats, well... we all do what we can to protect our own don't we. I don't appreciate insults either," she said, with a look up to stairs, attempting to indicate the man she had brought a sword point to earlier.

At the end she stepped closer, until her lips were at the woman's ear. "And I much intend to take this conversation upstairs afterwords."

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

Kiah: HP = 56, PP = 68, EP = 38, Status = Fine

Her visual explorations of her host delivered much for Kiah to like; soft, smooth, pale skin, plentiful but not quite overdone curves on an hourglass figure, a finely crafted and fairly ornate red dress that showed just enough skin to be interesting but not enough to be outwardly lewd, shiny platinum blond hair.... But what she also noticed was that Selena stood just a little bit too still, her body straight but seemingly lacking in the regular motions that one would expect even from a body at rest. "Good enough for me~" she stated, smirking softly again, and though Anna looked somewhat sour at the prospect of going into a basement to clear out spiders, Angelina had adopted a contemplative look that was devoid of any emotive expression.

"This is true," Selena offered airily, though she quirked an eyebrow at the succubus' mention of insults. "Insults? Does someone in my household require disciplining?" she asked, but glanced knowingly at the man with the book, who immediately sunk into his seat and said; "Oi, don't look at me like that! I was entirely polite! It was probably Agrius, or Rufus!" The butler bristled at the accusation, but Selena kept him silent with a glance before looking at Kiah curiously as she approached. The closer she got, the deeper and darker those red eyes became, and the stiller the woman's body became, until she was practically a statue when Kiah whispered into her ear.

The tension smoothly and swiftly drained out of the woman, and she replied in a low purr; "I'll be looking forward to it.... If you come back~" Leaving the somewhat dire portent, Selena outwardly said; "Agrius will show you the way to the basement. Clear it out of anything moving and dangerous, and you'll be able to have your pick of the library to find that book you're here for. You can even keep anything that you find down there, so long as it isn't obscenely valuable of course! Can't let you go and walk off with the ancient crown jewels of Therion or something if you find them down there!" She gave Kiah a very alluring smirk that displayed an unusually elongated canine, and before she turned away and left the room she added in a seductive purr; "I'll be doing a very thorough search when you get back~"

Once his mistress was departed, the butler stepped forward and said; "The basement is right this way, if you'll just follow me!" He crossed the room and unlocked the door that had been locked earlier, opening it to reveal a rubble-strewn corridor on the other side that led to another partially opened doorway. The man who'd been there when they'd arrived melted into his chair with a relieved sigh, and jammed a bookmark into his book and closed it. "Well, that was way more tension than I wanted this morning!" he said as he rose to his feet, stretching and glancing at Kiah and her companions, who were already moving to follow the butler, he held out a hand to the half-demon and said; "I don't know if I've said it yet, but my name's Seth! I think my mother mentioned that, but I figured I'd give you a formal introduction and all that. I'm sure you can handle whatever's down in the basement, so when you've recovered from whatever you and she get up to in the bedroom, the offer to help you find that book's still open!"

Following her companions and the butler, Angelina would fall into step beside Kiah once she caught up with them, and whispered under her breath; "I don't trust these people. Something's very... Off, about them." Anna, falling into step beside them, added; "I'm not sure that they're human... The family I mean, the staff probably are. Or elves," she added quickly as she shot an apologetic glance at Angelina, "I don't know if they're likely to go back on their word though... It's not like they haven't had opportunity to try and do stuff to us already. Maybe not great opportunity, but still.... I'm more worried about whatever's in this basement we're supposed to be clearing out!"

The butler turned right after pushing open the next door, bringing them into a two way corridor that he proceeded down a short ways before stopping in front of a barred door that was right next to a fairly wide doorway. "This is the entrance to the basement," he said as he turned back toward the three of them, "I'll be barring the door again behind you. We don't want anything sneaking through while you're down there after all! Knock loudly when you're finished and I'll come as quickly as I can. I understand that it's not exactly ideal, but we're too shorthanded to leave anyone standing in front of the door to wait for you." He then slid the bar off of the door and pulled it open, subsequently filling the hallway with a musty scent that was even more pungent than what had already been present in much of the tower so far, and showing a set of rickety wooden stairs that descended into utter blackness. "As guests, you are entitled to proper hospitality when you return, and on behalf of my Lady I would opt to formally invite you food and lodging for the night if you should wish it. Would you like a lantern, or do you have your own?" the butler asked stoically, his tone still almost excessively formal.

The rest of the hallway was largely empty save for various entrances and assorted forms of filth. In the opposite direction from the way they'd gone, there was nothing but a boarded up window and a right turn in the hall that went she knew not where. Across from the wide doorway was a set of ornate oak double doors that were closed, and further down the hall where it ended was another trio of doors, one directly ahead and the other two across from one another on the sides.

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

After telling Selina that it was Rufus who made the comments, she returned the alluring smirk with one of her own. "I very much look forward to that," she growled playfully.

Turning to follow the butler, she thanked Seth and moved through the tower down towards the basement, accepting the offer of a lantern. With light source in hand, the half demon led her companions into the dark, sliding her blade from its scabbard.

"The woman isn't human or elvish, but that shouldn't give us worry. I'm not either. Let's just get this done, and enjoy a calm night. There are more difficult ways to get paid," she told the pair of women that followed her, lantern light glinting on the edge of her blade and looked about with a frown.

"Angelina take point, I'll provide what light I can. I'm used to forests, not basements."

Anna: HP = 68, PP = 38, EP = 81, Status = Fine

Angelina and Anna followed Kiah down the steps in silence until the door was shut behind them, cutting off all light save for the lantern clutched in Kiah's hand. Angelina drew her blade with a muted rasp as well, but Anna made no move to draw a weapon of her own, merely adopting a soft frown and glancing around. "There are less difficult ways too," Angelina remarked quietly as she moved to the front of the group, holding her long, thin blade out in front of her as she slowly crept down the last few steps and into the basement proper. "I've heard that fighting in a basement is really rough, but I've never actually done it myself! This is exciting!" Anna interjected jovially, smiling despite the danger they might be going into, "I could get used to this adventure thing!"

The basement was even more desolated than the upper floors of the tower, with chunks of the ceiling having fallen in to form small piles of rubble on the floor. The place was filthy with dust and debris, along with more than a few spider webs, and the air was even muskier than it had been upstairs. The room in which they entered the basement looked like a wine cellar given the numerous racks, and Kiah spotted a couple of bottles still sitting out on the shelves. There was a dark passageway visible on the other side of the room, the border of it just barely illuminated by the glow of Kiah's lantern, but the half-demon succubus could spot a few webs that looked a little bit larger than what one would normally expect from regular spiders down there. The left-hand side of the room also contained a darkened hallow that might contain a passageway leading elsewhere as well, and giving the wine cellar a once over likely wouldn't cost her much time. "Where to do you think?" Angelina asked, glancing between their options indecisively, and Anna quickly interjected; "I see spiderwebs up ahead, but I wouldn't mind taking a peek around this room either. Maybe we can find a good bottle for later!"

Re: Lone Wolf's Hunger (Sinfulwolf)

"We were invited for room and board. Take a look around here, see if you can spot any books, cracks in the wall large enough for a large spider, and a good red," Kiah said quietly, moving forward with her lantern towards the other tunnel.

"Anna. You can use magic, can you summon any more fire? Perhaps clear away some of these webs without cooking us all alive," the succubus continued quietly as she held the lantern out before her, peering down the hallway laden with webs.

"Keep your wits about you, and your ears open as much as yours eyes," she continued quietly.
