Eh, as long as the artwork stays solid and the gameplay isn't atrocious i can swallow quite a few story issues. Lets not forget that in this kind of game the story is powered by moon logic either way.
and if that doesn't convince you: since Monkeyman likely won't touch another translation with a 10ft pole for quite some time to come, the mere mortals like us likely wont have much of a clue what is happening beyond "and then they had sex, or whatever you call that mess".

Haven't decided on that yet... I may get the translating bug again as soon as I finish VI, depends on if a game catches my interest or not.

oh i hope not. personally i prefer a rance like character instead of someone weak who get his girls ntred.

should we start a new thread for his new game instead of flooding this one?

And now for a progress update:

Got some more testing done and I now only have about 5 things to do!

-one scene I missed in a forest

-losing virginity in the brothel

-Carapa ruins itself (the dungeon not the town)

-some common events I missed

-one or two of the battle scripts that are tucked away so deep even Leonardo DiCaprio couldn't find them.

Oh...and the CG room, but I MAY leave that for the (inevitable) second patch.

Dumb question, but if i go into the CG room, will the scenes i revisit be translated?

Nope, unfortunately the scenes aren't common event's (meaning they aren't used again and again for the CG room and the Original event) they're both seperate which means a lot of map hopping and copy pasting for me.

Hence the whole leaving it for a bit thing :L

I think you can safely skip the CG room for a while, it gives some incentive to actually play the game (to see what it says) instead of just looking through all of the scenes at once, not to mention if you go to the CG room for the most part they're in it for the pictures, and you're just redoing what you already did.

We're close to the TL patch? I haven't tried the game yet because I can't into moon, but the 5 things might be bigger than it implies so I dunno if I should be anticipating it.

He did say that it would (probably) be released today but it seems like he still has some stuff to translate so i wouldnt bet on it

Yeah afraid I overshot the mark with that guess. It is very close I promise ( I know I keep saying that) I just got delayed because I hadn't tested it and missed a few scenes so now I'm going over it with a fine tooth comb first.

Haha thanks for the support. At least I know I'm not in danger of giving up on the game, I've come this far and I'd really be annoyed at myself if I gave up and handed it to someone now, so basically it WILL be finished and soon but giving dates is a bad idea because I just avoid it all the time.

Well to be perfectly honest i only wanted to push this thread a little because it gets annoying to look for this post on page 5 when i check it every day.

Take your time though and finish it when you feel like it. 1 or 2 Weeks more don't matter now.

Well, if there were any significant updates, you wouldn't have to look on page 5. It'll be released shortly, don't worry.

Monkey is well aware that we all appreciate his efforts, and the last few pages or so have more or less consisted of "how's the translation coming?"

Monkey is a hard worker he's just enjoying his summer right now. He'll be done when he's done. Plus he does a lot of mod work on another forum that keeps him busy.

Bingo, but yeah it's almost finished, did some more bug testing in it and I found a fatal error with one of the translated scripts so I have to work my way around that first I'm afraid.

Cool, thanks for the update Monkey. As for the rest of you, stop bumping the damn thread. If you want to find it and you don't want to search several pages then use the search. Bumping is just a slightly more subtle way of pestering Monkeyman.

I wish it were that simple, I think I've found it though. It's something in the battle script that relied on a thing I'd translated and the name didn't translate in the script, just the game. Think it's working now.
