EDIT: In light of 4access69's various posts, I'll change this to A, 2. Strictly speaking, there's a chance even on expert that medkits will spawn randomly where pills could in the game (and usually before something particularly nasty), but exploring for healing makes no sense if you're running it without permenant healing available on the map.

Let me just clarify that B is considerably longer path with little to no cover (wide open space and then some completely dark garages) while A is very short because we are only like 20 meters away from the subway entrance.

Lets go with this. Generally the longer paths have a higher chance of having more stuff along the route... Unless B just turns out to be a trick and both Rebecca and ZOey are going to be in quite a huge predicament.

Your inventories are already full and finding better weapons or medkits is out of the question this early into the campaign. Longer route can also have more encounters with hordes and specials.

Can we pop pills in an emergency combat situation or would that take too much time? If we can't then change the 1 to a 2. I generally found in the game that it was good practice to wait to use health items until you find another one to pick up. Unless of course you've already gone down a time or two...

Dammmnnnn that hunter did a number on Rebecca... Down 70 HP and a sprained ankle? Will the ankle sprain go away if/when she uses a health kit?

EDIT: Guys your choices are your own, but I just want to make sure you have all the info: we really don't have alot to gain by taking the longer path. We can't carry more weapons or health, so we really only stand to get hurt. However, if we go to the safe house, there are typically a range of weapons, ammo, and health items for the taking. That is all.

I am studiously ignoring this. For all we the voters know, you could've put something special on the longer route, even this early in game. Also, generally whenever I play a game, unless I have pretty much no healing items, I always take the longer, harder routes since they generally have something along the path that is worth it...

It is possible sometimes, but as you are doing it you have no defense and thus you can be overwhelmed.

Will the ankle sprain go away if/when she uses a health kit?
Yes, she will be healed to 80HP. If she isn't healed she will get temporary boost from pills but it will wear off and her health will keep bleeding out until it reaches 1HP when she will be dragging like molasses.

Maybe we can find a replacement medkit (or something better) along the way to re-fill that slot after we empty it by healing Rebecca.

I have no problem with that vote, but I would prefer people to make at least some effort to understand what they are doing.

Going longer route with one injured to look for items you can't pick and carry with you doesn't make much sense, unless you are intentionally looking for trouble.

If it is the latter, then please don't complain if you die and have to restart.

Yeah but ... In the case where there isn't an item, he shouldn't say it. In the other hand, if there's an item, he shouldn't too. 'Cause he's the GM and that he mays know things that we don't know, that the characters don't know : telling us is a mistake and could (shall) sway the vote.

But, just for the question, while we're on that : do you throw a dice to know what will happen, if we can dop an item, etc ? Or do you just plannified what will happen before you post and we vote ?

In the Parish level in L4D2 during chapter one, there is a dead end that has a Magnum spawn a good majority of the time. I've personally taken the Magnum over dual pistols any day, since you can one shot common spawns even if you hit them in the gut and still have infinite ammo. Of course, there's the terrible reload rate, but we have an SMG as a primary, so just switch and shoot.

While there may not be a magnum here, there could be a completely random ass chainsaw. (I think they're random, or I'm not good at remembering the spawns.)

This is L4D1, the only exception to the standard inventory I have made is Rebecca's machete because she is a swamp girl. There will be no L4D2 weapons (or at least I have no plans for that yet).

I don't want to say whether you will find an item or not because that would spoil the story. You can be certain that there won't be medkit. You might find pills but is it worth it going around and risking to lose more health than what you will gain from those?

Unless they have to use up a pipe bomb or molotov along the long path... Eh, either way I'm just changing my vote to A2 now since you seem to be painting B as a somewhat bad choice to make by pointing out that med kits are only at safe houses, that the long path is liable to have nothing on it, and that there will be higher chances of running into many special zombies just by it being the longer default path.

My bad, the machete was a L4D2 weapon, so that threw me off.

A2 Go out on the street and right towards the subway entrance, Rebecca uses pills.

A 1 Y. So to be clear: Is the path through the hole in the floor the one leading to the subway, or is the door on the other side the path that leads to the subway? Or do they both lead to it? And how big is the hole, 2 meters?

If jumping down isn't on the way to the subway then I will change my vote to D, provided the hole isn't ridiculously wide.

And am I correct in assuming that like in L4D we can't return to safehouses after we exit them?

EDIT: Ok, A 1 Y it is then. I would advocate going one at a time, but we have already seen what happens when we split up. And I have had many a time in game of being stuck on top of a building with a hunter or charger beating the tar out of me immediately after everyone jumps down....(shudders)
