Bingo! Rikke smiled confidently and took the tabard out, hopefully finally illuminating the surrounding area. If need be the rogue would slip the tabard on and finally get a better look around "Just where are we?" she'd ask out loudly.

Pulling it out with a smile RIkke saw that nearly 100 feet from the tabard was illuminated. Sadly this revealed a craggy desolate landscape. Slipping the tabard on for ease of use Rikke heard a slight voice echo out. "A light to guide the way for those lost in darkness." Looking Rikke saw the vampire from before though he quickly faded a smile on his face.

Rikke almost yelped as the sudden strange voice spoke out! Still at the very least it was a familiar face, her heart still racing the heroine sighed with relief. Well she could see... now the problem was that there wasn't much to see.

Thinking for a moment Rikke looked to Sir... nothing else she had would aid in navigating this place "Hum... A light to guide the way, eh?" the rogue looked to the tabard and then to the light it emited looking for any sort of oddities. There had to be more to this than the obvious, not to mention she hardly trusted her luck enough to pick a random direction and go.

As Rikke looked around trying to figure out where to go she heard the voice again. "The moon is the reflection of the sun. Its consort and lover. The silvery light of the moon bring comfort and rest like a mother while the sun protects and guides like a father. Both are the opposite sides of the same coin." There was no ghost this time but Rikke could feel a pull in two directions. Neither one seemed stronger than the other but both were insistent. All the while the desperate lonely crying echoed around her.

Rikke gave the cryptic voice a look, before sighign deeply. The rogue paused briefly and thought over what was said, this place wanted something from her. It was obvious this no simple location, but more like a huge and elaborate puzzle.

The girl tapped her lip in though "Sun, like the tabard and the moon.... wait silver?" Rikke quickly looked to her silvery blade and unsheathed it. Even if it wasn't the material, Beauty was peerless and it's surface could easily double as a mirror, perhaps playing with a few reflections from the blade could yield some answers!

"I don't know how you can think with that wailing going on." Emi sounded upset but then again she seemed a woman of action. Pulling her blade Rikke tried to catch the reflection with her blade. While she succeeded it didn't reveal anything. Then again it wasn't moon light. For all its grace and beauty her weapon was just that an enchanted sword, how could it compare to a moon. Sheathing Beauty Rikke thought some more. Meanwhile Sir tugged on her arm and pointed in another direction into the darkness.

Re: Chapter 4 An Uncertain Future(Ubberific) GMed by ranger

And it was such a good plan too! A bit dismade at the failed attempt Rikke could only smile sheepishly as Emi observed her throughout the act "Well Silver.. Moon... and it reflects. Well nevermind." though the ghost did bring up something important, Rikke more or less didn't quite pay enough heed to the wailing that had appeared... honestly if anything she thought it only added to the creepy dreaded atmosphere.

Perhaps the crying wasn't here to frighten or despair, but had a meaning! Perhaps the tabard wasn't meant to guide her, but someone else to her?! Rikke would ofcourse turn to where Sir pointed out, but overall she had her next much more simpler plan in mind.

"Over here!" Rikke called out to the darkness "Come to the Light! I'm here!" hopefully the crying wasn't just a predators trick... but the rogue was known for turning predators to prey on more than a few occasions.

If the obvious didn't work Rikke would remove the tabard and inspect it noting the silvery borders "Think think..." the border seemed to emit a silvery light, while the centerpiece was the source of the illumination that surrounded the rogue.

"Alright... two pulls... lets see." with the tabard removed Rikke tried to aim the centerpiece light in one direction while silver borderlight in the other.

Perception 47 vs 45 success!

Rikke called out noting that the wailing was loud enough that she doubted anyone could hear her. Removing the tabard the light dimmed noticeably. Sir once more pulled on Rikke and pointed in the same direction. Still she wasn't done just yet and tried to move the tabard around to get a different view. This had no effect though Rikke did notice with it gone she no longer felt any pull. Seeing this failing too Rikke cast her eyes down thinking only to notice faint growth of grass around her feet spreading out about 3 feet.

"Graah!" Rikke threw the tabard to ground in annoyance and tapped her foot rapidly "I bet it's something super obvious too... cruddy wizards." she'd cross her hands and look to the tabard still frustrated... only to note a patch of grass? While this was hardly helpful, it was something.

Still as she calmed down the girl once more picked up the tabard and slipped it on. By now the rogue was out of ideas, atleast for now "Emi, you have anything on this?" she'd sigh sadly, before noting Sir trying to get her attention "Do you have anything, Sir?" at that moment the rogue was open to do or try anything, following the others lead.

Putting the tabard on Rikke saw the light brighten again and the pulling feelings return. Focusing on Sir she saw the little guy pointing in a specific direction. Thinking a moment it seemed to be in the same direction as one of the pulls.

Well she had nothing to lose "Alright, let's go look over there." perhaps the light would reveal something Emi just flatout couldn't see. With that the rogue would begin her walk "Hey, Emi. Could you remember our spot... just incase." the thought of perhaps somehow upsetting some sort of balance in this place rushed though Rikkes mind. Hopefuly that would not be the case... heck how much worse could this place get.

Re: Chapter 4 An Uncertain Future(Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Looking down as they moved off Rikke heard Emi speak up. "Would you look at that." Turning her head Rikke saw the grass she left glowed lightly. "If that keeps up we should be able to find it." With that noted Rikke moved on Sir leading the way. They walked for what seemed forever with only the wailing getting louder and louder. Eventually they came across the source of the wailing. Just at the edge of the light a figure appeared. It was laying on the ground crying the source of the weeping and moaning. As she got closer the bright light of the tabard touched the figures pale feminine hand which started to smoke causing the girl to shrike and back away. Sir jumped into immediate action and to the girl trying to comfort her. Emi meanwhile spoke up. "Its the girl from before we should leave less the other return."

Rikke would Emi a silent, but curious glance. Was she testing her or did she really mean it? "It's fine." she'd smile to her and turn to the figure "Hey... It's me. You're okay." the rogue couldn't get a proper look of who it was, but hopefully it was "Ella? It's me. Rikke. Do you remember?"

It was unclear where they were now, future, past or somewhere in between, but whatever the case may be. Whoever this figure was she needed help "Does the light hurt you? What are you doing here?"

The girl would keep crying even ignoring Sir who was right next to her. "Emi raised an eyebrow as the scene played out. "Well at lest the moaning stopped though the crying is still..... bothersome." Rikke watched a moment as Sir's blue little light moved all over the girl illuminating her. It was hard to tell but if Rikke had to guess it looked very much like Ella the missing sister. From what she could recall the girl was always sad and lonely driven to despair due to her mutations. Her body was made of shadow and only with great focus could she manifest and that was only usually with Yenna her fallen angel companion and lover. Here however she seemed whole but the bright sunlight seemed to burn her.

"Emi..." Rikke would give the girl a warning glance, perhaps now wasn't the time for such comments. She was right on one though, Ella or whoever this was seemed to have calmed down. Though Rikke knew it wasn't her who hurt Yunie and killed Kanna right before her eyes... looking at the girl, Rikke would have to fight a fair few mixed emotions.

"Hey.. it's okay. We're friendly." Rikke would croach down to lower or equal her level with the girl and smile to her kindly. Still as she spoke, the girl kept her distance from Ella, lest her light burned the cryign girl once more "Please, talk to me. No more tears, okay? We're here to help." ...atleast that was a probability. While the rogue could only guess where she was right now, she suspected it had something to do with the splitting slash Emi delivered a short while ago.

The kept crying but it lessened somewhat though. After some more sniffles the girl tried to look at Rikke but turned her head away shielding her face. It seems Rikke's sunlight was to bright for the girl to even look at her. "Help?..." the girl scooted away from Rikke a little more taking refuge in the shadows more. The only clue was Sir's little light still on the girl. "No one wants to help me. They just want to hurt me or use me. Stay away."

Re: Chapter 4 An Uncertain Future(Ubberific) GMed by ranger

While the tabards light clearly wasn't helping, Rikke would not be willing to take a risk with it's removal. No matter who they are, people scared or lost in despair could do horrid things... even while not truly meaning to "Well, you've never met me." Rikke smiled cheerfully "We only just now arrived to this... I honestly don't really know what this place is." she'd think briefly "Or where."

The rogue wouldn't lie or cook up a story, perhaps if anything her completely honest tone would convince the girl that the group are indeed complete strangers in this "land".

"Your trapped here the same as me. Victoria did this to me. Told me she would make my life better if I gave her my powers. That I could live a normal life again. She lied to me and now I'm stuck here." Rikke blinked it seemed the girl knew or at lest knew why they were here. "I used to be the mistress of shadow now... now Im just a shadow myself. She tried to look at Rikke again but couldn't stand the light.

Re: Chapter 4 An Uncertain Future(Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikke blinked curiously to her, noting her covering from the radiance the tabards centerpiece emited "Hum..." she didn't have to remove it, but if the light protects and guides.... the rogues eyes glanced to the silver borders that emited a subtle light that was overwhelmed by the centerpiece 'Then the sides should calm and rest...' hoping she was right, the rogue put her hides on the sun that emited it, in turn blocking the bright light and allowing the silver to shine through!

"There... better?" Rikke looked to Ellas manifestion with a smile, before recalling what she just heard "Victoria was once my enemy as well, but I beat her then... I'm sure we can unravel whatever she has done here. All of us." if the silver light indeed helped the situation, Rikke would look for a way to hide the blazing sun more reliably than just her hands.

Re: Chapter 4 An Uncertain Future(Ubberific) GMed by ranger

As Rikke watched she tried to cover up the sunlight emitting from the tabard and while she could cover up some of it she would never be able to get it all. Still while she tried to hide the sun it seemed to respond and the light shifted to a pale silvery light. As the magic worked the Sun became a silver moon and the silvery border became gold. As this went on Ella brought her hand down able to see past the brightness now. Rikke.... I know you.... you are the one that took Yenna away...." Tears threatened to fill the girl once more before she gritted her teeth. "No I-I don't blame you it was the Master who did that. How can I blame you after what I saw Victoria do to your friends."
