The girls quickly ducked into cover grouping up in pairs but the feeling of being watched didn't evaporate. Instead it seemed to get stronger and many moments passed before Jess who had stayed with Rikke looked at her with a shrug. Before this was an loud "EEK!" and a sound of blasting magic.

Rikke blinked at Jessica shrug... something was definedly following them... suddenly a loud screech pierced the air "Everyone dodge!" hopefully the magic didn't harm anyone too much!

The heroine quickly looked around paying extra heed to up above "What was that? Harpies?!" Rikke reached for her poisoned blades, looking around for her opponent.

"That was Kat's voice!" Jess began to get out from cover when another blast of magic sounded and smoke began to fill a shop across the street. A moment later Kat and Naomi came running out Kat coughing while Naomi had a fresh cut on her brow. Her hand was charged with violtile green magic aiming it at the building they just fled.

"What the fuck!" "Help!" Looks like things are starting to hit the fan.

What was going on here?! "Go go!" Rikke quickly urged her group to leg it looking back just to make sure Kat and Nayomi would catch up, perhaps even catch a glimpse what was their opponent.

Rikke and Jess broke cover just as Cassandra tossed an ugly looking human out of a nearby window with a crash soon followed by a leaping Erika blades drawn and wet with blood. Turning her head it seemed that Alice and Janet where knee deep in bad guys as well.

"Everyone regroup! Jess, go help Janet and Alice I'll grab the girls and join you!" with that Rikke quickly scanned the area for anything that could trouble the four girls regrouping efforts, seemed it was so much a ambush, but more of a case of being surrounded.

Jess ran to the assist of Alice and Janet adding her blades to the mix but no matter how many they seemed to cut down more would appear almost an endless tide of foes. Soon all the girls where pushed back to a semi circle breathing heavy and dripping sweat.

"Just who are these chumps..." Rikke breather heavily, her blade covered in gore, but not to much avail. It didn't seem to stem the tide of enemies "Plan B... leg it. Janet and Kat you go first, we'll catch up." she nodded firmly to the two slowest runners.

The rest wouldn't delay for long and would quickly join in on the retreat. This wasn't a battle they wanted to fight.

"Rikke there is no where to go we are surrounded." Indeed Alice was right every where Rikke turned more men all of similar dress and appearance loomed around them. They silently approached getting closer with each step. The watching feeling never stopped and in fact it felt focused right on top of Rikke's party but it wasn't coming from the nearly identical men all around her.

Rikke gritted her teeth "Girls when you fought them did you notice anything strange?" she looked through the girls as they all huddled their backs against each other "There can't be this many all looking the same... it has to be an illusion." it was more of a hope than a legitimate obesrvation.

Rikke once more looked around and if she didn't see nothing would turn to the girls "What do you think girls, wanna try our luck and guess it's just a mind trick?" before the crowd would get too close, if everyone agreed Rikke would command them to close their eyes and run the same direction. The first two swinging their blades blindly... there was nothing left to do else.

"Other than Ive killed the same jerk about 10 times no." "Their not breathing dose that help?" "They don't cast shadows." With the girls input Rikke was finally able to see threw the illusion and see that indeed none of the men where breathing or even talking and that they seemed to be in the same repeating fashion. Taking a deep breath and not wanting to risk the girls if she was wrong Rikke burst threw the first line of men running ahead.

As the manufactured shadows shattered Rikke felt a sense of peace wash over her and the rest of the girls sighed in relief as the rest of the conjurations failed.

"Well that was fun while it lasted and it took you all long enough to figure it out lucky for you the big titted brown haired girl figured it out." Rikke looked up at a two story building where the shout had originated from to see a female figure dressed in tattered off white robes peering down on them. Her appearance was hard to make out but her figure and the sound of her voice assured Rikke it was a woman she was talking to.

"Who are you?! Why did you attack us?!" Rikke eyed the woman slowly trailing her way to her poison blades.

"Oh I didn't attack you. You just triggered my trap is all. Now Ill have to redo it. Now hurry along I have work to do." This persons voice was annoying her attitude sucked and Rikke was sure she thought Rikke and company where fools.

"You still haven't answered my question." Rikke eyed the woman "Who are you? What claim do you have over this area to set your petty traps around!"

"Ive no time for this adventures get going I have work and research to do!" With that the woman seemingly went down a hidden flight of stairs or some such and was gone. The Building she had gone into was apparently a a burned out shop but given this womans use of illusions it might not be what it looks like.

"Hey! HEY!" Rikke scoffed lightly as the woman descended down ignoring the group. "Wow... talk about pompous bitch." the rogue shook her head in annoyance "She may know more about this area and the demons..." the heroine turned to her group for input. This would be quite the distraction and if they're needed at the front, they had no time to play around here.

"I don't know Rikke she seems to much of a bitch to help us." Rikke looked over at Jess in shock usually she kept her language pretty tame well except on certain nights. "Yeah lest just get going we don't need help from someone like that." The rest of the girls kept quiet and waited to see what Rikke would do.

While Rikke was curious, chances were the women wouldn't even cooperate not to mention all the traps she likely had inside "Yeah, let's go." the heroine nodded to her group and would proceed onwards. Hopefully they wouldn't stumble onto any more traps.

The girls regrouped at the once again empty streets feeling a little tired but none the worse for ware. "Well it could have been worse the men could have been real." Everyone just looked at Naomi with a really look. It had been a frighting encounter for some but as always Naomi just smiled it away. Still they rounded a corner of the street when a big really boom echoed behind them. Looking back over their shoulders the shop with its illusion broken turned out to be an old watch tower which was now ablaze.

"Hum... so if they were all an illusion, what would've happened if we hadn't broken it?" Rikke raised a curious eyebrow along with a question that likely won't or shouldn't be answered.

Fortunately the answer wouldn't allow itself to pop up, when a powerful boom echoed out. The group looked back only to see the previous illusion failing to reveal a burning watchtower!

"Shit... is this an illusion too?" it was a real possibility, but the alternative the asshole woman could potentially die in there, before running forward the girl turned to her group, she wanted to go investigate, but with so many girls onboard she couldn't always make these kind of calls.
