"Okay ladies tell me what you saw and I don't mean about the demon half the city saw that beast. I want to know what you saw of the priestess?" Well that was interesting and definitely not what either girl expected to be asked about.

Rikke raised an eyebrow "Are you sure the giant corruptive, burning demon is not your point of interest?" the heroine placed her hands on her hips "...but if you insist. We met her a few moments before the demon landed. She zapped the beast and used some kind of holy bubble magic to protect us. That's it." Rikke waved off the question... no she wouldn't even mention what the priestess was doing near the shrine. "How can there be such powerful demons so deep in the city?" this was the question that had to be answered in order for the rogue to comply.

"Well thief some one obviously summoned it. Are you sure thats all you saw you didn't see the matron practicing her faith?" The knights stare was very intense why was he so concerned about that did he know what she practiced? and why was he calling her matron she was hardly older than Rikke but now that she thought about it the demon had called her the same thing.

A cold sweat drop ran down Rikke face "Well... now that you mention it... she was doing something at the shrine of Venus when we came..." the rogue smiled uneasily, and where does he get off calling the thief a thief?! A cold chill ran down Rikke, what if he actually knew of her past exploits. She doesn't have a clean record to begin with! "W-why do you ask? Don't you dare touch the shrine!" It was rushing to conclussions, but still... why was he so interested.

The knight raised an eyebrow at Rikke. "So you saw her then. Damn I knew trying to hide her as one of Naya's clergy was a mistake. Now listen here you must never breath a word to anyone about what you saw at the shrine the other leaders of the faith would never understand. If you so much say a word to anyone the church inquisitor will hunt you down and trust me you do not want him knocking on your door!" The knight was clearly making a threat but he was interrupted by the priestess speaking. "Do not hassle my fellow sisters of the faith they know how to keep secretes right. Thats why we chose them to look for the badge remember." "Matron please be still they are thieves and not to be trusted."

"How could I even say anything when I don't even know who she is... and there is no shame in worshiping Venus." Rikke crossed her hands "Don't worry, your secret's safe with us, priestess." the rogue smiled warmly at the woman and paused briefly at the mention of the badge... this was certainly the same knight, but was it this priestess that she saw in the council "Oh... the badge..." Rikke smiled uneasily, she didn't really know if the word got out, nor how did the council react "And by the way, where do you get off calling us thieves?" yikes that was ballsy, but Rikke left her thievery for only special occasions "There's a diffrence between adventurer and a thief you know..."

"Whatever the case, could I have a word with one of the higher ranking priestesses. I need to save my friend from the Silken Princess, Janet. Do you know her?" since she was already in the main cathedral and likely surrounded BY the very higher-ups she was looking for might aswell explain her visit.

The knight narrowed his eyes at Rikke. "Adventurer is just another term for grave robbers or thieves stirring up trouble where ever they go. I had your number the day you walked into the council how you moved how you spoke don't think for one moment that you can fool me." At the mention of Janet the old knight scoffed. "Why would you want to help that traitor this whole mess is her fault." Rikke was about to protest when the priestess spoke up. "Her pardon is granted" which shut the knight up. He just stood there gawking at the priestess. "Matron you can't shes a traitor the church already spared her neck." "No the church sent her into her own personal hell a chaste virtuous knight forced to work in a brothel? How is that just punishment instead my predecessor made her lose her dignity honor and virtue. The churches often speak of justice its time we start practicing what we preach." The Matron was sitting up now and looking it at Rikke and Jess. "Goddess forgive me for not having the courage to act before. Get the papers ready and issue them also Im will no longer pretend to be a priestess of Naya from now on I will wear the robes of my order is that clear." The knight could only nod as he stood. "I will see to it at once Matron." With that he left leaving Rikke and Jess with the Matron of the Church.

Rikkes eyes widened "Thank you! Thank you so much!" the rogue quickly bowed out of respect and looked to jessica smiling widely. Wow things went a lot better than expected! She wanted to argue with the knight longer, but decided to just let it go and before long they were left alone with the generous and kind priestess.

"How can we ever thank you for this kindness." Rikke smiled warmly at the priestess "Who do we owe such a great service?"

"Its a long story but you have an old woman to thank not me. She told me I would be attacked by death in the garden where I practiced my secrets and that two woman would be there that where important and that I should let no harm come to them." The priestess sat up and smiled at Rikke and Jess. "Im the high priestess of the church alliance in Endus chosen by the prophetess herself to succeed my predecessor."

"Oh it's an honor high priestess" Rikke looked to Jessica obviously confused how she should act with someone of such title around, after a moment of fumbling she just ended up doing a curtsey, blushing lightly at the embarassment "Us? Important? I'm sorry for asking, but who is this "old woman"?"

The priestess looked away briefly before speaking again. "She was an old seer long in the service of the church she passed away from age a few years ago but not before declaring me the next Matron of the alliance. Please Rikke don't bow we have no need for such formalities you and your friend are my sister's in faith."

Rikke smiled at ease "It's so~ Inspiring, to see a High Priestess still having faith in my godesss. I always though the Star Gods teachings of chastity, slightly clashed with Venus's beliefs in free love...." the rogue called Jessica closer "Could you... tell us more about Venus? I'm ashamed to say I'm not well-versed in such matters..." Rikke smiled earnestly at the priestess and with curious eyes listened closely to whatever the priestess would say.

"After the invasion many of the churches where left in disarray even the Stargods church was in a panic. Thankfully due to the nature of Endus law the church had to elect a representative to the council so they pooled their resources to decide on one candidate through augury." The pristess got up and threw off the constricting robes she had been wearing before showing off her rather stunning figure before opening another draw and pulled out a rather skimpy looking robe that looked like something one of the high class prostitutes at the brothel would wear. "There much better now what would you like to know about Venus that I can tell you. Don't be shy ask away."

Rikke eyed the priestess briefly "Fancy robe you got there priestess" the rogues playful tone made it clear she was just joking around. The heroine giggled warmly, perhaps the high priestess was just another girl, only bearing a such an impressive title. "This has been eating me for some time... but... do you know why the GodSlayer killed her? Why kill the Goddess of Love... and if he killed her form... she does still have power in the world? Right? She has to!" Rikke looked up to the priestess.

The priestess looked sad for a moment before her smile returned. "Well Rikke dear no one Ive met knows why he did it but it was done. Now as for her power in the world its everywhere around you. A pair of young lovers kiss or a elderly couple holding hands thats her influence and her power so while her form may be gone she is far from dead."

Rikke smiled widely "Thank you... that means so much to me." Even if the girl never accepted that Venus hold on the world faded hearing it from the priestess reassured her of her beliefs. The rogue turned to Jessica, she was awfully quiet throughout all this... perhaps she wanted to ask something. "So~... one more thing. What order robe is that? It's not of the Star God, that far I'm certain... but it's beautiful." sure it was perhaps too revealing than a priestess should wear, but it was perfect in Rikkes eyes... after she received her answer the heroine would offer to answer any question the Priestess had. Fair is fair.

"The order of the sacred vessel." It was cryptic but thats all the priestess was offering. "Its not a robe for the stargod Im and will always be a priestess of Venus just I had to wear those clingy robes so the other leaders didn't leave the alliance." Once again the priestess sat on her bed and looked the two girls over. "You look troubled child what is it?" The question was directed at Jess who shyed away from answering eyes wide she was either in awe or scared.

"So you ARE a priestess of Venus!" Rikke smiled widely "I thought there was hardly anyone still left honoring our dear godess!" the rogue just thought the high priestess honors ALL the gods and Venus was just one of the many. Not the main.

Rikke turned to Jessica "Jess it's okay..." the rogue turned to the priestess "My companions souls has been tainted in the past, she doesn't feel well in holy places." Rikke smiled at the priestess earnestly "She's such a wonderful, warm and friendly person. Probably the purest girl I know... please tell her it's okay. She'll listen to you"

The priestess looked at Jess and smiled. "I see do not be afraid daugher of lust you have already taken steps to purify yourself and you have gained much ground in that you have nothing to fear from holy places as long as you walk the right path." The priestess stood once again and beckoned them to follow. Leading them to the secrete door she opened it and motioned them inside. "Now go I will see to your friends pardon be safe."

Rikke smiled warmly at Jessica with the priestess reassuring the girl there was nothing to fear. Though the priestess seemed to have considered their conversation over, Rikke interjected "Priestess... What about the demon..." it was the elephant in the room afterall, how could the two just ignore the sight they saw "It was an upper ranked demon coming to kill you specifically. Who would have the power to summon it here? I have experience with demons, perhaps we could help each other." not only that, Rikke felt rather bound to beat down demonic corruption. Perhaps it would help her beat down her own inner conflict aswell.
