Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

The conversation eventually passed, leaving the clock at a time where it would be convenient to make it for the store. Before the girls could leave, Rachaela had another thing to say. "You should go meet Isabella later, she supposedly has something you asked her to make ready. We will likely be going into jobs in a few hours, so you might catch us at the bar too." she reminded Adelle about the request that she had indeed given to the sister gunner. What it would actually turn out to be, she would have to find out later.

Going to the store was more fruitful this time around, the sign at the door now showing open instead of closed, and the pair could go in. Josephine was packing up a possible order to the two when they came in, somehow missing their entrance despite the bell that rung each time the door opened.

"Oh... okay, I'll go check in with her after we get done then and before we all go out for some work, because I was gonna see about any jobs that looked interesting and such shortly too," Adelle said before she and Luna left.

After that she drove them on to Josephine's place and found it was open for business now thankfully, meaning they didn't have to wait any longer to get Luna some clothes. Going on inside, Adelle was whispering to Luna that Josephine was really the best clothes maker in the city in her opinion as the bell jingled and she saw Josephine packing up an order to someone, and she didn't seem to have noticed them yet too. "Hey Josephine, how you doing this morning? I have a friend here in need of some clothes, so I thought I'd bring her here since you're the best in town for clothes," Adelle called over to Josephine as they came in, where after Josephine replied if she was going to Adelle would show Luna around the place and help her pick out some stuff to wear around the house and out and about if she decided to leave the house at any time.

While they were there, Adelle grabbed herself a couple of more of the plain T-shirts Josephine carried since they were so cheap, grabbing a couple of plain white colored ones and looking around at a couple of cute sun dresses that were for sale too while they browsed, deciding to grab a couple of them too if they were cheap enough for her to get while leaving enough money for Luna to get some stuff to have too.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Once she was actually spoken to, Josephine snapped out from the packing focus she was in to greet the customers that had sneaked up on her. "Oh. Hello, was a little too busy with this, I'm not much different than I was yesterday. Things are going fine, business is good so I can't complain. Take a look around and see what you like in there." she replied, finishing the packaging as the pair looked around.

The cheap and cheerful t-shirts had still not gone away, and Adelle could get a few more of the things, which caused some furrowed brows in Josephine, though she was still happy to get rid of the things in all likelihood. The sundresses were a little more pricey, so she would most likely be better off not getting more than one right then. Those too were quite riddled with options when it came to how they looked, so decisions would likely be needed. For her part, Luna appeared to be a little reserved about spending money that she did not have, going along with the selection of further t-shirts in black and dark purple. She also looked around for simple skirts and underwear in dark colors, sticking to the same black and purple as the shirts. While it appeared to be mundane, it was probably a smart idea to pick what she did as there were no plans to get the witch involved in any combat situations where she might need tougher clothing, at least at the moment.

"Alright Josephine, thanks, and I only pick out these plain shirts like those so I can work in them," Adelle replied as she and Luna began grabbing some plain old clothes for the two of them and she noticed Josephine's furrowed brow at their choices of clothing for now.

Before she grabbed her things that she decided on looking for, Adelle helped Luna pick out the best things that she was going to get, picking her out enough so she had a few of each to last her a few days before needing to wash anything. Once Luna had all she was going to get, Adelle grabbed a few of the plain white T-shirts and chose a single pullover style sundress after seeing the prices, choosing a dark sapphire blue to match her hair and eyes. ( )

After picking out the style of sundress she wanted, Adelle took it over to Josephine to ask if there were any of that style and color in her size. "Say Josephine, do you have any of this kind of sundress here in blue to match my hair by chance? One that'll fit me and all I mean," Adelle asked, bringing the style she wanted and showing it to Josephine, where hopefully she would point her over to where the size she was looking for was at.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Taking a quick look at the cloth, Josephine had an answer ready. "Probably not that color, but the bigger sizes will fit you. I can make you a blue one, but that will take some time, probably can get one done in two days since this is not a complicated one to make. I can have it delivered too, unless you want to pick it up yourself. The same prize as any of those. Do you want a pattern in it or just plain blue? I already have you measurements, so it will only take making it." she explained the situation, the previous time she had taken a custom order already providing the needed numbers to the tailor. "If you don't want to wait, you can take another one from the few different colors there."

If Adelle was not wanting to get one of the specific blue, she had the option of getting a black, white, dark red, purple, light blue or orange one, all of which would fit her if she picked one of the bigger sizes.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Hmm... well... yeah I'd like one made in my size of the blue, can you get it the same shade as my hair. And about a design... hmm... can you embroider some blue flowers onto it, like a large blue rose on the midsection and some smaller ones all up and down the skirt, they can be in whatever pattern you think is best on there. Aside from that you can add on any other bits that you think would look good on me, I'll trust your knowledge on these things," Adelle replied about having one tailored to her size after thinking it over for a few moments. ( )

"I will however go ahead and get me another right now that's in my size, hmm... which color though. Black and white go good with just about everything. But that light blue color there might go good with my hair too though. I'll pay for the new one when I come to pick it up, because I don't got enough on me at the moment to pay for it, but I got enough back home," Adelle then said, looking at the colors and finally deciding to go with the light blue one.

With that, she brought it back up to pay for everything and then after thanking Josephine she'd help Luna to load it all up in the rear trunk that was on the back of the bike. Once aboard and loaded up, Adelle drove them back home to unload their stuff, which they'd set on the bed for now, and then Adelle would ask Luna if she wanted to meet Isabella too, explaining who she was and all while they put the stuff inside. If Luna wanted to meet Isabella too and decided to come along with her, Adelle would wait for her to climb on and crank the bike up and drive off towards the gun sister's home to check in with her about what Rachaela had mentioned earlier, though she'd go it alone if Luna decided to stay home.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Yes, that can be done. I am a tailor afterall, it is kinda my job. Come pick it up in two days or so. Josephine agreed to the plans that Adelle had for her sundress, packing up the things the two had bought. It had taken almost all of Adelle's remaining money, but now they had spare clothes for Luna and some further additions to the busty girl's personal stack of clothes as well.

The pair headed out, returning to their shared home to drop off the clothes stack. While she asked for Luna, Adelle had to go by herself at the moment, the witch not really being in the mood to go around. Still, she promised that she would do something at the home, supposedly having some interest in maintaining cleanliness.

By her lonesome now, Adelle could make way to Isabella's, not needing to hold back with the gas pedal as much when she was by herself. Considering the speed, she got to the apartments where the gun sister lived in good time. A knock on the door had Kikuchi answer, the man inviting her in without too much hassle. "Isabella having a sitdown at the toilet, so you'll have to wait a bit, if it's not a bother." he told her, offering up the other seat on the only dining table in the house that was otherwise full of gunsmithing machinery and tools.

"Alright Josephine, thanks, I'll be back then to pick it up," Adelle told the excellent seamstress before heading on out with Luna.

...

"I'll see you when I get back then alright Luna, take care and all that, and thanks," Adelle told Luna after they got everything in and her new witch companion stated he'd stay home, but that she'd tidy the place up a bit.

With that, Adelle headed on over to Isabella's place at her apartment, going at a smooth cruising speed the whole way and enjoying the wind in her hair. She sped up after a couple of minutes though, deciding to go ahead and get over there to talk to her friend. Pulling up in front of Isabella's apartment, Adelle locked her bike up and stuffed the key into her pants pocket before heading on up. "Nah I don't mind waiting, doesn't bother me in the least, because when you gotta go you gotta go. can't stop nature," Adelle replied to the man as she took a seat when he offered one at the dining table. While she waited, Adelle looked around the place at all the different weapons the gun sister had, idly daydreaming about owning such an arsenal herself one day.

When Isabella finally came out, Adelle would look over to her and nod. "Yo, Rachaela told me that I should come see you. That you had something for me and all," Adelle said to Isabella when she came out.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Kikuchi went back to his work after giving Adelle her seat, finishing the breakdown of a random pistol and setting upon it with a bunch of cleaning tools. If she paid enough attention, Adelle could hear a rather impressive fart or two, followed by some quiet muttering about food coming from the bathroom. Kikuchi clearly heard it too, making a facepalm briefly before going back to work. It was pretty much a thing that he knew what was going on, and Isabella was most likely the culprit for her own predicament. Eventually, she did come out though, looking a bit sweaty in her work clothes. Again, it was really bizarre to see one of the sisters dressed like that, for the others appeared a little fancier than normal even in their casual clothes. While they were able to pull their costumes off without it looking strange, Isabella appeared to be equally at home when dressed in her overalls and a stained white shirt. "That was rough... Note to self, less beans..." she shared the reason for the toilet episode before getting to business, going over to one of the tables and getting a to hand over. "Here's your Isabella custom gun. I called it Quickstop, after the trick Kikuchi put into it."

After Adelle had some time between herself and the gun, Isabella spoke up again to explain what this thing actually did. "Alright, specs... Quickie there holds four 32-gauge shotgun shells, smaller than average yes, but I wanted to maintain the possibility of carrying it like a pistol instead of a sawed-off or something similar. It is a top break model, like those old revolvers, the switch over here at the top opens the gun so you can reload. It will always fire in a clockwise sequence, something to consider. The sequence will always start from the same place, so don't go opening it up without firing all of them unless you want to fire an empty barrel or two. Operation is similar to a double-action revolver, cocking the hammer makes it easier to get accurate shots, you know the drill. Also, this lever here in the right side. That is what I like to call the sequence breaker switch, pulling that down and firing will make all the barrels go off at once, giving it the capability for explosive firepower and stopping ability. But don't do it a lot continuously, it will put a lot of wear on the barrels to fire hour shots at once all the time." she went through the features of the thing, looking quite enthusiastic about this creation. It might not have been the one thing Adelle was looking for, but it was certainly a shotgun capable of doing the things one expected from shotguns.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Hearing Isabella's troubles in the bathroom, Adelle snickered softly, covering her mouth with a hand to keep from giggling aloud where the gun sister would hear her. When the gun sister came out of the bathroom a while later, looking a bit sweaty, Adelle could only imagine that it must have been one helluva breakfast that had taken Isabella to the bathroom like that. Nodding over at her friend as she came over, Adelle watched as she grabbed the gun that she'd made for her and looked it over as she took it from the gun sister.

"Wow... looks pretty awesome. Smaller than I expected to say the least, but awesome," Adelle said when Isabella was done talking and explaining things about the gun, with Adelle opening the thing up to look down the barrels before flipping it back into place and locking it down. "It does however allow me to conceal it much easier, and I can load slugs into it if I need some massive stopping power and don't want any spread, which might end up being better than having a big honking gun to look mean with. I'd say the biggest concern I'll have it getting shells for it, I dunno if the old guy at the gun store sells thirty two gauge shells, but I can always ask him of course. I mean if I need some and you aren't around or something, because I'm assuming that you have some for me to take with me," she added after looking the thing over completely.

"Thanks Izzy, this will really come in handy if I run into another big creature... thing like I did yesterday. There was this big guy turned into some creature like a werewolf or some damn thing. I hit him with three or four of my incendiary rounds from the bigger gun here and the bastard still didn't go down," Adelle said to Isabella, showing the bigger gun she'd gotten from Miguel which fired a larger caliber than her starting pistol. "If I could have hit that bastard with a quad spread from this thing or four slugs, I'm positive he'd have gone down," she added, reaching out to shake the gun sister's hand in thanks.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Of course he does, the man ain't that badly prepared. In fact, I think he has a buttload of the things sitting at the storehouse as the caliber is so rarely used among us gun folks. I can make them too, if you pay me. Some scavenger friends of mine dug up a cache of shells and primers during one of their forays and sold it to me for relatively cheap." Isabella told Adelle what she knew about ammo for the gun she had just given out, another eyebrow getting raised at the mention of her having ammo to give out. "You sly devil you, always with the handouts. Sure, I have a twenty set on the house." the gun sister went to the table again and put the somewhat shabby-looking box into the busty girl's waiting hand instead of her own. "The box is a little beat up, but the ammo inside is practically mint. No need to fear that it would misfire or blow up."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Oh? Well that's good then, now I won't have to worry. I didn't expect him to carry any for that reason actually, because it's so rarely used. And I can pay you for the shells Izzy, don't worry, I have enough to be able to pay for it... I think. How much for these you're giving me?" Adelle replied, pulling out some of her remaining money on hand to give to her for the ammunition.

After she got the shells one way or the other, Adelle left Isabella to her work for the time being and went on, thanking the gunner sister and telling her she'd see her at the bar shortly perhaps when she went to look in on some jobs. Before heading over there though Adelle would head back home with her new weapon and got her gear all out and laid it across the bed to decide on what to take that day for a job. In the end she decided on taking her SMG with her and a couple of mags of ammo for it in case she needed some heavier firepower to fight with, her 2 pistols she always took with enough ammo for 4 mags each for them, and she then grabbed her kukri which she fixed up onto her belt and got ready to go, grabbing an extra $100 from her stash or enough to go with what she had left to make a $100.

"Hey Luna, I'm heading out for some work or to try and get a couple of jobs in today with the Hunters Guild. I should be back before dinner though, but if not then you can check in with Rachaela and she might know where I'm at or can help you find me. So keep an eye on the house while I'm gone and stuff if you don't mind," Adelle told Luna before taking her gear and getting ready to go, putting her SMG in the trunk on the back along with with her new weapon she'd gotten from Isabella and its ammo, and then she headed for the bar to check in with Samson for some work.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"I just told you it's on the house, the entire box of twenty shots. You owe me for the gun, but I won't ask much since we are friends and I mostly want to experiment with designs that are not the norm in this somewhat standardized field that is gun design. I can't take it how bland things can be, the same gun getting put out there dozens of times with minor variations on features or caliber or materials. It's so boring! Hnnnnnng!" Isabella suddenly went into a very brief rant, giving some further look into her own mind and further explaining all the strange guns that were around the house she lived in. Suddenly, them all being there was all that much clearer, as they were the product of the gun sister's driving passion. And if his actions were of any real indication, it was easy to make out that Kikuchi too shared this mindset. And as if to further enforce her decision to give the shells out, Isabella bapped Adelle on the head in a very comedian-like manner. "Go now, silly. We'll see each other in a few, I think."

Taking the trip back home to arrange gear for the possible job, Adelle found that Luna had not lied about tidying up the house as she found most of the dust that had been there being gone already. The clothing she had bought had also gone into the closets, in order according to the type they were. "Mkay. DON'T GO RAPING ANYONE OUT THERE, YOU HEAR ME?"

Over at the bar, Adelle would find Isabella and Mariela waiting, the former having done some real work to get there in time and be still have all the customary get-ups of the group on her. It did not appear that Rachaela and Lacrimosa were around this time, so it would only be the two sisters with her, if that was what the busty girl wanted.

"Heh, alright then Izzy, thanks. I'll seeya in a bit then, cause I definitely want to test this bad boy out," Adelle said, thanking her friend and putting her money away as she was playfully bopped on the forehead. With that she headed on back to her place to gather her gear she was taking out on job today.

...

"Alright Luna I won't rape anyone... so don't worry okay, you're the only one I'd rape if anyone but that's because you're pretty," Adelle replied jokingly to Luna. "Though I might get raped myself though because that's always a possibility here," she added as an afterthought.

After heading on out with her selected gear, Adelle made good time over to the bar and found Isabella and Mariela both already there. She was amazed at how quickly Isabella had gotten ready and over here considering the garb she and the rest of the sisters all wore for jobs. "Hey you two, wanna see if we can find a good higher paying job today? And how did you get over here so fast huh Izzy? I just left your place a few minutes ago," Adelle asked the pair when she got into the bar, deciding to not get a drink this time around and going straight for the girls.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Weeeeeeeeell.... Kikuchi just might have a car... he might have dropped me off, even if it's not my usual style. Walking is so much healthier, even if it is slow." Isabella explained her rapid move, which was understandable as Adelle had taken some time with her gear selection, so it was not completely impossible. She had gotten her usual armaments, which were the trio of two olden C96s and the huge custom revolver. Considering the earlier revelation about her views towards guns, it was easy to see her using the old Mauser models now, as they were hardly ordinary no matter what time period. For her part, Mariela was taking a rest from the Eastern blades, and was now hefting around a large Western sword. The busty girl could identify it as the claymore, the blade of the Scottish from medieval times. Not simply content with only that one though, she also had a black-bladed, partially serrated machete and a smaller tactical knife dual-carried in the same sheath on the side while the claymore was strapped across her back. "That's what were's here for, right? Don't think there's any guarantee for big pay though." she expressed her feelings, appearing a bit pessimistic like usual. With these two, it was likely this opposing duality of personalities and equipment that made them good in their jobs. Rachaela and Lacrimosa had a similar duality about them as well, with the socially adept Rachaela making up for the shortcomings of her nun partner in the social parts while the latter provided the needed muscle to cover the mage's physical frailty with her own nearly immortal body.

As she took a seat with the pair, Adelle noted Isabella's normal armament of pistols she always saw her with and nodded as she spoke and then she looked over at Mariela's... claymore. She looked at it and then to the smaller girl and then back to the sword. Well she was strong obviously, so surely she wouldn't have much trouble with the big ass sword. "Oh I know Mari, a girl can hope though for a big payout every job... even if it isn't always so. Let's hope we do get one today though, because I'd like to save some back so I can pay Kozlov the rent easily and have some left afterwards," Adelle replied to Mariela's words with a nod. "Well... shall we girls?" Adelle asked as she got up and made her way over to Samson's and Shiulin's table to speak with them about a job of some sort to take on, seeing what all was on the table for the workday.

"Yes, let's. I'm getting tired of sitting around the place. Kinda want to swing a blade." Mariela said as she got herself up from the table she the two had been sitting at. The trio went to Samson right away, who was at the time by himself. "Shiulin is solving some issues with her friend. Aftermath from the kidnapping." he explained the lack of the assistant boss before moving onto the main subject, which was the job for the trio. And he did indeed have one. "There was a request left to us earlier in the week, by a small transportation company. They have laid claim to an old container yard that is located a little ways out from the main city area and are now looking to make it into a usable area. But there have been some reports about odd happenings and some sightings of wasteland marauders hanging around the area. With all their work at the moment, we have not managed to send any of the forward scouts we have to get intel. A few parties have refused this offer, so I would not be surprised if you declined. The company asks that any unwanted inhabitants be removed from the premises so they could get their business up and running."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Ah, well I hope her friend is okay, she should take a good long rest after that near catastrophe," Adelle said about Shiulin's friend nodding her head knowingly as she was one of the ones that rescued her.

When he began getting into the job details, Adelle sat back in her seat and listened to the older hunter, wondering why so many people had been declining this particular job. "Hmm, so we'd only be forward scouts eh, well should be something like checking out that outpost a while back when you lost contact with them. Might I ask why so many have declined the job Samson? You wouldn't ask us to go on a suicide mission would you? And what's the pay?" Adelle said when Samson was done talking, raising an eyebrow. "And if there are marauders I'm assuming that they won't be friendly, so shoot to kill if necessary," she added, glancing over at the others as she spoke.

Once they gathered all the necessary info about the place, Adelle would look to the others. "Well girls, you two want to do this? I'm up for it if you two are, because I'd rather us all go together out there than just one or two of us," Adelle told Mariela and Isabella. She was wanting to take her bike, but knew that the others had no viable means of transportation themselves, so they likely wouldn't be able to get out there via bike or car... unless Mariela was hiding a car or something that is and drove over to the bar.

If they agreed, then Adelle nod and look to Samson, telling him that they'd act as the forward scouts for them and once the others were ready she'd head out to check her bike and make sure it was locked down and everything before handing the key to Samson, as she trusted him and the barkeep the most out of everyone there at the bar... well save the 4 sisters of course, but as some of them were going with her she couldn't very well leave it with them. "Say Samson, you mind holding onto my bike key while we're gone? I don't want anyone to steal it from me or anything while I'm gone, and I trust you, so I'd like to leave it here since we'll be heading straight back here after we're done out there, that way I'll have a ride home if it's late. If you need to, I don't mind you using her to get somewhere, but if you do I'd appreciate it if you put some more gas into the tank so I don't risk running out on my way home tonight," Adelle told the hunter leader before handing him her key to hang onto until she returned later, as they couldn't all three fit onto the bike without a side car for it... which was something Adelle thought to herself that she really needed to invest in to make traveling easier in a small group.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"There appears to be some unease towards this assignment among the regulars, though I am not sure as to why. Maybe it is the marauders, as those brutes have some dangerous and unhinged individuals among them and not everyone has the guts to go fight against them. And yes, you don't need to think too hard about the marauders, killing them is doing a service to all the good communities out there who get raided and pillaged by these savages. They are trying to get by on their own, and then these guys come along and use violence to take whatever they want. If there indeed are any of them present when you get there, remember that they will be there with bad intentions. If they get the drop on you, it will be really bad." Samson explained a bit about the marauders before going back to details. "Every job has the potential to be a suicide job, you know. Obviously destructive and harmful jobs will not even be accepted, as we have a standard to uphold, even more than before nowadays. And if you girls are not back by a certain time, there will be others coming to look for you, we have at least one of our top guys available at most times to lead any rescue squads."

The two sisters had their respective ways to approach the mission offer, Mariela being almost pumped at the idea of having to go after a bunch of bloodthirsty marauders, while Isabella was a little more skeptical but did not put the idea down as the money appeared to be worth the risks. While Samson was most likely a good candidate to hold up to the keys, he suggested that Adelle leave the things to the barkeep Azrael instead. "I have a lot of materials here, so I might accidentally lose it among the papers and other things. Better leave those with him, he can put them into the mini wall safe he has there."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Hearing the old hunter out, Adelle simply nodded again before speaking any more herself. "Aye, I guess you're right about the suicide potential for each job. But I don't have any qualms about killing those bastards. They sometimes raided my hometown a bit, but thankfully dad and the other men and women who protected the town were able to drive them out before they got far into town every time. I've heard it said that some of them are cannibals even. So that's even more of a reason to shoot them first and ask questions later I'd say," Adelle replied as she looked to the others to gauge their reactions to what he'd just said before heading out to lock her bike up good, getting out her other weaponry, including her submachine gun, her sword, and her new gun that Isabella made for her and grabbing her backpack she'd put into the trunk too to store her ammo in, at which she brought the keys back in only to be told by Samson to hand them to the barkeep instead for safe keeping. "Alright, he was going to be my second choice anyway to be honest. Couldn't remember his name honestly. Thanks though," Adelle said once back inside to Samson before taking them over to the barkeep and explaining where they were going and asking him to please keep an eye on her bike while they were gone.

When the girls were ready to go, Adelle would nod and follow them on out, letting Mariela take the lead while she took the rear herself, letting Isabella take the middle. She checked all of her guns as they walked along towards their objective, making sure that they were all loaded to full and that the safeties were all on so she didn't shoot anyone she didn't want to by accident. Also as they went, she fixed up a couple of magazines for her 2 main pistols and her submachine gun on the inside pockets of her coat, as well as a couple of mags worth of shells in her right pants pocket for her new gun Isabella made her, that way they were within easy reach and she wouldn't have to reach over her shoulder and into her pack just to find another one of them to load up.

As they finally started leaving the city to get to the specified area, Adelle would stick a bit closer to the girls, keeping a close eye out on their surroundings so nothing got the drop on them easily. She wished that she had a sniper rifle to use from an over watch position over the place they were heading to from a nearby hill, but figured that they would just have to make do with what they had and make it a full on breach and clear.
