Re: The Dungeon of Debauchery: Mind Flayer's CYOAs.

(A) heading north and through the other path.

(Short post is short. But there wasn't really all that much to actually say and or do. ^_^; )

Redressing themselves, Elena and Sophia headed on out of the room with the stream in it, going north back into he previous room. Once there they continued onwards and down the northern path, which they followed. The path turned not long after they started heading down it, with the two staying close to one another and ready to fight some more just in case something else tried to get the drop on them in the tunnel.

Not too long after starting down the northern path, they found themselves in the room it led to, which had what appeared to be relatively empty at the moment. There was only one other doorway in the room besides the one they entered in through, and as they were heading across the room it still seemed as if nothing was going to try and ambush them within this room, giving them a chance to sit and rest before the next room if they wished.

"Now I remember that arachne woman telling me upstairs yesterday or the day before and I believe Mia was there as well, but I remember her saying that there was someone quite powerful guarding the stairwell leading down to the sixth floor at the end of the fifth floor. And this is the fifth floor, so I'm wondering if the next room is the last one or if there are more further on," Elena said as they walked across the quite large room and made it to the center of it, looking around cautiously at the surrounding walls and behind them to make certain nothing attacked them.

"Well, there's nothing really for it but to go forward then I think, because the longer we take, the longer whoever or whatever it is has time to prepare for us if they know we're here," Sophia said, giving her opinion on the matter, looking like she was ready whenever Elena was, but sounding like she wanted to keep pressing forward.

What should they do now?

Elena's stuff:
Elena's current stats:
HP: 23/23, Pw/SE: 39/39, PP: 0/25, AC: 1/1, Status: fine

4. a dark potion
5. an unidentified iron helm

1. Specially designed magic robe (+2 magic to-hit, dmg, & non combat rolls, but gives no AC.)
2. An uncursed +0 Witches hat (+1 AC, +2 to all magic rolls)
3. a jeweled amulet (currently unidentified, so she doesn't know what it's actually doing for her.)
4. an emerald ring on her right ring finger. (currently unidentified, so she doesn't know what it does yet.)

Gold pouch: 123 gold pieces

Quest items: Portal orb (Instantly opens a portal back to the sanctuary to get a better rest.)

Attributes, XP, and CP:
Strength: 6
Speed: 9
Willpower: 9
Magic: 15 (+3 to all magic rolls)

CP level 0 - 85 points

Elena's skills & powers:
Basic attack with staff: 1d6 + strength modifier

1. Avenging light – deals 1d10 radiant + magic modifier dmg on hit. (costs 5 Pw to use)
2. Heavens lightning – deals 1d8 lightning + magic modifier dmg on hit. (costs 5 Pw to use)
3. Blinding light – doesn't deal any dmg, but blinds all enemies in room assuming it hits all of them for 2 turns, being blinded causes -10 to all attack rolls & -5 to evasion rolls. (costs 8 Pw to use)
4. Holy beam – deals 2d8 radiant + magic modifier dmg on hit. (costs 15 Pw to use)
5. Light heal – casting recovers 1d8 + magic modifier on the one it is cast on. Automatically succeeds on a cast. (costs 8 Pw to use)
6. Firebolt – deals 1d12 fire + magic modifier dmg on hit. (costs 12 Pw to use)
7. Remove curse – Does what the name implies, however Elena must make a roll of 35 or higher to get it to work and if it fails, Elena must wait 5 turns before attempting the spell again. Can only remove the curse from one item at a time. Costs 15 Pw to use.
8. (Passive) Elena's corruption caps at level 15 instead of level 10.

Sophia's stuff:
Sophia's current stats:
HP: 26/26, Pw: 28/28, PP: 0/30, Status: fine

Inventory and equipment:
Inventory:
1.

Equipment being worn: Nothing really, but she has clothing now

Sophia's Attributes, XP, and CP:
Strength: 7
Speed: 8
Willpower: 10 (+1 to all Willpower rolls)
Magic: 9
Health: 10 (+1 to all Health rolls)

XP level 4 – 99 points
CP level 1 – 69 points

Sophia's skills and powers:
Firebolt – deals 1d12 fire + magic modifier dmg on hit. (costs only 10 Pw for Sophia to use, because she's more proficient with fire magics)
Infernal rebuke – deals 1d6 fire + magic modifier dmg on hit, and can target up to two targets at once. (costs 8 Pw to use)
Fireball – deals 3d6 fire + magic modifier dmg on hit and causes 5 ongoing fire dmg, can target up to 3 targets at once. (costs 18 Pw to use)
(Passive) Sophia's corruption caps at level 15 instead of level 10.
(Passive) Sophia is a succubus, succubi have a mostly selective fertility in which they can choose not to become pregnant if they wish, however sometimes it may not work for them and they'll end up getting knocked up anyway. (When choosing to not get knocked up, they get a +15 to on their pregnancy rolls to keep from it, though they can also choose to get knocked up and get a +15 to get knocked up.)

Options:

(A) - Move onwards into the next room.

(B) - Wait and see if anything comes into this room to meet them

(C) - Other

(I do encourage anyone that wants to do so to choose Other and formulate plans and stuff, especially in battle. Because I give bonuses to Elena and company for sound plans of action. Also remember, Elena can give orders to her companions, telling them what to do in battle, of course that doesn't mean that they'll always agree with her on the matter unless they trust her. It's completely optional of course, but I do still encourage it when you all want to do it.)

A. As much as I'd like to form a battle plan, it's kind of hard without knowing what's behind the door. It should go without saying to proceed with caution.

I'm going for the overly complicated on this.
Give Sophia the Teleportation orb.
Have her wait at the door while we check the room ahead, coming up with two set signals. One for all clear, the other to put the plan into action.
If this is the big boss then have Sophia port back and bring the calvary! Everyone that is able bodied to fight, leaving one person to tend to the young ones.

I like UjisatoGamo's plan here, save to note that of the people in the sanctuary, only Mia and Julie are not borderline perma-corrupt. So we'd really only be able to reinforce with those two - which in turn would mean they'd have to leave their respective children behind.

So let's see what's waiting for us before we send Sophia back for aid.

Re: The Dungeon of Debauchery: Mind Flayer's CYOAs.

If I'm reading this right then there are a total of 6 A votes to head on in with Sophia to see what's inside, and 3 C votes to send her back. So if I got any of your votes wrong in the counting there then I apologize.

"Hmm... I suppose that you're right about that Sophia. I'd like to go back and bring Mia and possibly Julie to help us fight, but they only gave birth not too long ago and they need rest more than we need help. So we'll have to handle this ourselves," Elena said, making it quite clear that she wasn't going to bring Mia and Julie into this regardless of how much she thought they could help.

"I was going to say if you were going to try and bring Mia and Julie into this possible hellish situation then I was going to seriously bonk you on the head," Sophia said, looking quite serious about what she was saying. After a moment though Sophia looked back over at the door across the room with a slight grimace. "Though I won't say that I'm not scared, because I am. But the best thing to do I think is hit whoever or whatever is in there fast and hard before they have a chance to prepare better," Sophia added.

Elena nodded her head and glanced back over at the door, then she sighed softly before starting towards the door. When they reached it, Elena glanced over at Sophia as she reached out for the handle, then she pulled it open and the two of them walked through, starting down the darkened hallway leading to the next room. Opening the door to the next room, Elena and Sophia saw standing in the center of the room, which looked like a large ornate bedroom of sorts, an elven looking woman standing there completely nude save for the fishnet stockings she was wearing along with the bracelet and collar. She was standing at what appeared to a sacrificial altar of some sort that looked like it was made for a person to lay on.

"Ah... the angel sent by Pelor and the devil sent by Sehanine... hahaha," the woman said as she turned around to face them, laughing mirthfully as if she thought the sight of them together was funny. "It's hilarious really... an angel and devil working together. I almost wouldn't have believed it when my master told me if I hadn't seen you both here myself. But here you are now... and here you shall fall my lovely angel. Oh I'm so going to enjoy corrupting you and watching you fall, it's ever so much fun to watch one of your kind fall," the elven looking woman added after her laughter died down a bit.

The had glowing red demonic looking eyes, as if she were possessed by some higher power. Seeing this frightened Elena, as this woman had obviously heard that she, Sophia, and the others were here, and probably what they were here for... well her, Sophia, and Mia at least. Sophia however actually stepped forward in front of Elena, a angry look on her face as she stood there.

"Well you'll never see it, because we're going to kick... your... ass... bitch. I'll never let you touch my Elena," Sophia said in response to the elf looking woman, already preparing for a fight. Her words made Elena blush a bit despite the situation they were in. The woman was alone though at the moment, so they may have the advantage, depending on how strong she was and whatnot. Elena momentarily thought about the orb in her pack, but as soon as she considered it, she immediately decided against it, knowing that Mia and Julie shouldn't be out trying to help them fight with them just having given birth and all.

However, just as Elena thought about that, the decision was taken out of her hands altogether as they both heard a slam of a door behind them and they both jerked their heads around to see the door they'd entered through shutting, where they then heard a very audible click that signaled the lock turning. No sooner did they see this than a barrier formed around the door, preventing any sort of retreat or call for help.

"Oh no... we're trapped," Elena breathed, a look of fear on her face.

"Dammit, she's sealed us in. The only way out is to kill her or knock her out so that her barrier drops," Sophia said to Elena as she whipped her head back around towards the elf woman, looking ready for battle and like she was ready to kill. The look Sophia had gave Elena hope though, giving her the feeling that they could win this as she turned to prepare for battle herself, looking around the bedroom for anything they could use to their advantage.

Within the room was of course the large ornate fourposter bed fixed up with silken sheets and whatnot, as well as the altar, though there were other things also. There was a table with 6 chairs around it, a nightstand beside the bed with what looked like a book of some sort on it and a potion bottle that looked full, and there were also several boxes laying strewn about the room with various things in them from rocks to books, and even sex toys of many different kinds.

What should they do now?

A blinding light. Try to steal the book and potion. Should be easy if blinding light works.
