(B) heal Mia, have her try the amulet on, then move on.
“Okay Mia, just lay there for a minute, cause I'm going to heal you right up okay,” Elena said to Mia, caressing her cheek gently.
A moment later Elena laid her hand on Mia's stomach where the succubus' magic hit her, then with a small bit of effort Elena released her healing magic into Mia's body, taking away the pain and healing her wounds enough so that after a little more rest they'd be able to continue onward. (Mia recovered 5 HP from Elena's spell taking her out of critical status. Also Elena spent 8 Pw on the spell.)
Rest action: (Elena and Mia recover 56% of max Pw/SE from their rest, putting Elena up to 27 Pw and Mia was already at full, and they also recovered 91% of HP, putting them both back to full HP after Elena's healing spell.)
A few minutes later, once Mia's hurts had been healed and after Elena healed herself as well, they were both ready to move on to the next room. They did however stop before moving on though and Mia picked the amulet up they saw on the floor near the door leading further south.
“Okay Elena, I'll check this one out okay. I'm tired of seeing you get bad luck with everything we find in here,” Mia said to her friend as she picked the amulet up from the dungeon floor.
“If you're willing to risk it then I won't stop you Mia, but please be careful and if you think it might be something bad then yank it off,” Elena said to Mia.
Mia nodded her head and put the amulet over her head and around her neck. As soon as she placed it around her neck, Mia felt the amulet suddenly change shape from the regular silver chain with a gemstone in it and it became tighter and fit around her neck much more snuggly, though not enough to strangle her. Elena could feel a bit of magic course through the amulet as it changed, it felt dark and impure which she hadn't noticed before. Once it had finished changing shape it resembled something in between a dog collar and a choker.
“Ahh! Elena... what's it doing? It's getting tighter,” Mia said in a frightened tone, frantically trying to tug the thing loose from her neck to no avail.
Elena tried to pull the thing loose as well, but neither of them could pry it loose from Mia's neck. Elena could feel it was cursed, but it hadn't been before, and it scared her that she couldn't detect a curse on it before. It was almost as if there were things in this place that were disguised as helpful items to throw her off.
[Mia is now wearing a slave choker, it causes the wearer to take -4 to all willpower rolls until it is removed and the wearer becomes more submissive in combat (i.e more likely to give in if in the process of being raped.). Slave chokers are disguised as harmless items at first and when they are put on they become cursed and must be uncursed before they can be removed. The most dangerous thing about slave chokers is that they are undetectable unless identified by scrolls or spells, so even if one of them is identified, you can't tell when you've got another one. Basically Elena cannot tell if they're cursed before they're put on.]
“E-Elena... I feel kind of weird here. And... my mind is a little fuzzy. I thought you could sense curses and stuff,” Mia said to Elena, looking a little scared.
“I'm sorry Mia, I but I didn't sense any curses on it until after you'd put it on. I swear if I'd sensed any curse on it before then I'd never have let you put it on,” Elena replied to Mia, pulling her gently into a hug.
“W-Well there's nothing we can d-do about it n-now. So let's just g-g ahead and head on out, maybe we'll find something to help get it off in the next room,” Mia said after giving the choker another couple of unsuccessful tugs, letting out a depressed moan when she saw it was not coming off. Elena could also tell that Mia was more than a little flustered with this thing, and figured it must be magical in some way to make her look so flustered.
They decided to move on and hope they quickly found something with which to get Mia's new accessory off with. She gave the thing a few more tugs as they began walking down the corridor leading south from where they now were, looking very down about deciding to put the amulet on. Elena put a friendly arm around Mia's shoulder and pulled her over a little bit into a half hug, letting her know she was there for her and everything. Elena's action calmed Mia down a bit as the young drow shook her head to clear the haze from it so they could focus on the task at hand.
When they reached the next room, Elena opened the door cautiously and inside they saw what looked to be a fairly large jeweled chest that was shut tight but it was hard to tell if it was locked or not. They also saw a pair of large humanoid beings standing to either side of the chest, these beings both stood at ten feet tall at least and had large bulky bodies with strong thick arms and legs. From both of the things backs extended at least a dozen tentacles each and between their legs hung a large pinkish tentacle that they could tell was for one purpose... splitting their honeypots open. Elena could feel that these things were demonic in nature just from the foul aura she could sense being emitted from the two.
“Whoa... Elena... I don't like the looks of this. I think we should get out of here, those things look really strong, and... I can already tell you if those things manage to grab me I don't think I'll be able to get away,” Mia said to Elena with a very visible shudder.
As soon as Mia said that, she turned to take a step back towards the door, only for it to slam shut before she even took a single step. It seemed that they would have to fight these things no matter what, and Elena could only hope that defeating them would open the door back.
