"Haha, yeah, we'll be sure to bring her with us. We've already bumped into some dangerous types, so your advice will be heeded," Locke said as he held up the bag of bought items in an acknowledging gesture to the old lady Verde. He sighed a little at Marla's need to declare such personal things out loud, but just shook his head helplessly, knowing that chiding her for it would be more trouble than it was worth. With a final wave, he exited the shop and the foursome headed home to get ready for Monday's tournament.

After mentally preparing themselves, the day came for Locke to arrive at the tournament. There were seven others who came as well, as each of them went into the stadium and awaited their placement in the tourney ladder. The first pair to be matched up was a young alp, and a Tanuki. The alp's name was Roy, and the raccoon girl's name was Oakley. The two met out in the arena, and faced off, but the fight didn't last long. Oakley fought dirty, using sand, and confusing Roy with sly jukes. fifteen seconds passed before it was over, Oakley was declared the winner.

Next up, Locke heard his name called. The tourney grid moved Oakley up the ladder, opposite Locke's side, before a picture of Marla and Locke lit up next to a picture of a mouse named Minnie along with her trainer.

"Locke!" called the announcer. "Report to the arena with your partner, and you may bring a single item with you to assist her in the battle! You have five minutes, or the match is forfeit!" she informed him. With the technology in front of him, he saw that he could examine Minnie's specs, to see just what he was up against... As Minnie and her trainer could no doubt do as well...

(Choose an item carefully depending on your mamono's opponent. Minnie can poison Marla, which could very well lose her the fight. It's recommended in this case to bring an item to cure her of a status effect.)

"Poison huh? Guess I'll be bringing that Mint Leaf," Locke said to himself as he checked out the opponent's stats. Nodding to Marla, he put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a peck on the cheek.

"For good luck, oh harem queen," he joked, giving her a pat on the bum too. "Now let's go out and get a solid win for this first contest. No sense in starting off on the wrong talon."

As the walked down the tunnel to the arena, Locke went over the details he had observed about the mouse fighter. "She's got extremely low life, so her best defense is to not get hit. You'll have to concentrate on using your more accurate attacks, since she won't win any battle of attrition with you. Okay?"

"You got it! I'll show this mouse a thing or two!" Marla nodded to Locke, skipping a moment after Locke pat her bum, which seemed to excite her a bit as she took a moment to return the favor, attacking his lips with her own as he felt her sharp talons grip both ass cheeks before she was rushed along by the impatient announcer.

Once into the arena, Locke was actually ushered into the circular arena as well, instead of remaining among the audience. The same was for Locke's opponent, as a mouse and an energetic, pink haired girl came from opposite where he and Marla did.

"Let the opposing trainers speak and pay respects to each other. When you're both finished, trainers please stand in the outer circle of the arena, and partners, stand in the inner circle." said the announcer. Immediately, the pink haired girl stepped forward, grinning at Locke with a blush already on her cheeks, apparently excited as she pointed a finger at him.

"If you've got any stones, you'll agree to a domination duel with me!" she announced. "Men don't belong in the arena, and I'll show you why!" she boasted.

"Opposing Rancher, Mika, has challenged Rancher Locke to a domination duel! Is he going to accept? It will be humiliating for either Rancher should they lose! It seems Mika is rather confident she's going to win!" shouted the announcer.

Locke didn't resist Marla's return kiss in the slightest, letting his harpy take all the loving she wanted from his lips. It was a kiss for good luck, right? Maybe having happiness in her heart would make Marla fight better as well. He had confidence in Marla to beat this mouse opponent.

When he heard the challenge from Mika, he had the good grace to blush as well. What was wrong with these women on this island? And he'd thought Celes was a hard case back on the mainland. Clearing his throat he stepped forward and projected his voice for the arena to hear.

"I've no particular desire to humiliate you, Mika, but since you so clearly wish to do so to me, I'm going to have to send a message to all the female opponents waiting for me in the wings. When this fight is over, I'm going to make an example out of you. I accept!"

He flashed Marla an intense look. "This fight is serious Marla. I trust in you."

Marla nodded to Locke, "There's no way I'll lose!" Marla announced, winking at Locke.

Meanwhile, the girl laughed at Locke's announcement. "That's a really cute face you're making. You're just eye candy!"

Before Locke could reply, the announcer suddenly boomed through the arena, "Ranchers and their partners, Get Ready!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"FIGHT!"

"I'm gonna punch ya! I'm gonna beat you up! AAAAAtatatatatata!" Minnie the mouse announced, punching through the air rapidly!

Minnie is Pumped!

"Bring it!" Marla taunts Minnie, one claw on her hip as she stands proud.

"She's really pumped, so let's let her chill out with some aerial superiority! Marla, take flight!"

Figuring that a pumped up mouse would be really eager to get in an early hit, Locke wanted Marla to soar above the creature and then prepare for a volley from above. It made enough sense to him, and he dearly hoped his strategy would work.

"Nice job! Now go all out! Hit her with Feather Dagger and put her down!"

Locke did a small fist pump, displaying his delight at how nimbly Marla avoided the flurry of Minnie's attack. Now he wanted her to use this boost of confidence to throw her multiple attack strike at the mouse. He had to assume her opponent would be a dodgy type, so something like Feather Dagger would be the most useful attack.

Marla throws a fan of feather daggers! Marla deals 39 damage!

In a single blow, the mouse topples over, dazed from Marla's attack before the announcer shouted over an amplifier, "In a single blow! With one hit, Locke is the winner!"

"W-what the hell!?" the girl exclaimed, before rushing over to her Mamono, and patting her on the cheek as if to try and make her snap out of it and get back to fighting. After a moment though, she turned to Locke, and grit her teeth. "You... You damn kid, you got lucky!"

"Well done, Marla. That was almost too easy. But it's to be expected of you, my fine harpy." Locke said as he approached Marla, giving her a hug. He was proud of her performance in her first fight.

Turning to the upset girl trainer, Locke wagged a finger at her. "Luck didn't have much to do with it. Marla's been training hard and she was well prepared for this fight. Now, there's the matter of settling our domination agreement. I trust you're not going to try and get out of it now?"

Locke strode towards her, with one arm still around Marla.

"According to the rules of a domination duel, I'm allowed to do anything I want to you, in front of all these people, aren't I? Are you ready for that? Well? Speak up now. I want to hear you agree to do whatever I say. Everyone wants to hear it. Right?" Locke's last word was intended for the gathered audience to respond to. Inwardly, Locke had nothing against Mika, but he needed to make sure that every other trainer who wanted to be audacious enough to ask for a domination duel against him knew that there were severe consequences. That way, he wouldn't have to lose face by turning down domination duels in the future, since not every girl would risk it against him.

Marla hugged him back, pressing her cheek against his happily. "I could have stomped that mouse when I was just a chick!" she announced.

Meanwhile, the girl Locke defeated turned her head away from him. "You know that's right! Don't... Act like an idiot!" she growled at him, refusing to look at him. She was clearly angry that she lost.

"I understand, this must be terribly embarrassing for you, Mika. Still, I'm afraid I can act however I want, since I won. Now, I want you to take off your clothes and show everyone your nice body. If you cooperate and be a good girl, this can all be over soon. But if you put up a fight or act like a spoilt brat, it's only going to be be worse for you."

He folded his arms and looked at Mika expectantly. If she didn't put up a fight and started to strip, he would hold up a hand and tell her to stop, but if she in any way gave him further grief, she was going to lose her one chance to get out of this with a shred of dignity.

"Stop." Locke held up his hand. "I'll give you an alternative to this public humiliation. You agree now, in front of everyone, to take a month off to come work at my ranch. At the privacy of my ranch, you'll do what I tell you to do, but nothing of what happens will ever get out to the public. It'll just be between us, and when you leave, you'll be no worse for wear than you were when you started working for me. Food and board will be provided, and your mamono can visit you when you're not too busy with chores and other requirements. This is the first and last time I'll offer this, Mika, so consider carefully. If you don't take it, I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to really make you the talk of the town for quite some time."

Mika's eyes shifted, and a blush formed on her face, but it took only a moment to steel herself, and begin undressing. Though once she did, she looked up when he told her to stop, and did so. Upon hearing his request, she stood back up, standing straight, before, while looking to the ground, she nodded slowly while sticking her hands in her pockets. "... I guess I'll go help you with your stupid Ranch..." she said without too much hesitation, apparently preferring that to the alternative.

"Then we have an agreement. Sorry folks, you'll have to wait for a show some other time," Locke announced, satisfied that he wouldn't need to really go too hard on the girl now. It wasn't in his nature to be extremely dominant in such a public setting. In the privacy of his own ranch though, he could be confident enough to handle a girl like Mika.

When he got up close to Mika, he leaned over an whispered to her.

"I'm glad you chose this route, but don't think it's going to be easy. You've traded one session of public humiliation for a month's time of doing whatever it is I want you to do. And you'll do it with a smile and be thankful, because if you don't, everyone will know you were in breach of your agreement, and you'll suffer public humiliation all the same. Now go tend to your hurt mouse and I'll expect you to arrive at my ranch within three hours from now. I suggest packing light."

Leaning back he once again, looped an arm around Marla and left Mika behind him to go look after Minnie. He led the harpy into the locker room, where he again congratulated her. "Flawless victory, Marla. Really, really good. And definitely got me out of a tight spot, I doubt I would have received the same offer from Mika."

After Locke left Mika, the pink haired girl gathered her little mouse from the ground. Together, they left to the opposite sides of the arena as the announcer spoke loudly, her voice booming through the whole dome. "While an amazing achievement for Locke's first battle, he better not hold his breath! There are many more challenges that await him, but the real question is, can Locke make the distance, or will he fail like the others? Only time will tell!"

Back inside, Marla scratched her cheek lightly. "That fight was a little too easy. I think, if you really wanna intimidate those other girls, you've gotta take down someone big!" Marla suggested. And as if to answer her, their next opponent was announced on the same screen that Minnie was announced.

"Yeah, it was pretty easy. I don't have any illusions about how much harder it'll get. So since we both know we can't rest on our laurels, let's take a look at our next opponent," Locke said, turning to the screen and scanning over the readout.

"Looks like you'll be fighting a mermaid. Definitely someone you can beat, but don't take it easy. The word about mermaids is that they'll start slow, but once they gain their confidence, things can get a little dicey. So I think we'll want to end the fight, or at least get as big an advantage, as early as we can."

Locke rummaged in his pack and took out a mango, putting the mint leaf back in.

"I think I'll keep something that restores your life total rather than a status curer. Could be a risk if you get too blissful out there, so if you see the mermaid open her mouth, try to ignore the singing as much as possible and when you kick her, try to knock the wind out of her, okay?"

Satisfied with his preparation, Locke led Marla back to the waiting area, until their names were called for the next battle.

Marla nodded to Locke, "Kinda reminds me of my sister species, the Sirens. But their singing is really powerful. You can't ignore their singing." Marla informed Locke.

After a few minutes, the announcer called out Locke's name, supposedly after the other match had ended. And on his side, he saw a noble woman walking through the hall, with a Tanuki at her side. The Tanuki looked rather wicked, not only in appearance, but Locke did not feel at ease when he saw her. "That's Oakley." Mika suddenly announced from behind Locke, having come over from the other end of the arena, possibly to get a seat and watch the outcome of the matches. "Even though your harpy is strong... Oakley will probably beat her." Mika said perhaps a little harshly.

As if in response to what she said, the Tanuki, Oakley, glanced at Locke, and while wearing a sinister grin, gave the farm boy a wink.

Locke watched Oakley go by, then shrugged off Mika's disparaging remarks.

"We'll do our best. If we lose then so be it, but I think you're wrong Mika. Marla's really fast and strong, I think it's Oakley who's going to be in for a surprise."

Locke said this not only for himself but for Marla as well. It was important to reassure Marla, keep her confidence up and not let her think negatively.

"But we're not going to worry about her now. Let's not look past this mermaid opponent. Come on, Marla. We're gonna take care of business."

Answering the announcer, Locke stepped out into the arena with Marla. There, the opposing trainer, a calm looking girl with a serene smile on her face stared at Locke intently, while holding her mermaid in her arms. "I am happy to be your next opponent after that display, Locke." the woman began, speaking to Locke in a friendly tone. "In that light, I challenge you to a domination duel, but with a twist. I don't want to humiliate you." she announced, before letting her mermaid go as strange magics flowed to the mermaid from various robed individuals around the arena. Slowly, the mermaid seemed to levitate, before floating in midair as if she were swimming through water!

"I propose that the winner of this match can get the loser to do any one thing they want. Is that acceptable, Locke?" she asked with a smile on her face, as well as a bit of an excited blush on her cheeks. If her expression could be associated with anything, it'd be a girl who had her eyes set on the boy she likes.
