Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

As Oormi spoke, Kherem looked to her, eyes widening in confusion at first, and then in further embarassment, his cheeks a deep crimson hue as she let her inaccurate thoughts be heard, and then Lumi soon after doubled over in laughter. Kherem finally removed his hand from his mouth, as if to speak, only to freeze utterly in place as Melissa placed a delicate hand on his chest, uttering such honeyed words, which did -nothing- to better his predicament! "I, Melissa... S-stop it! We're not lovers or... or anything of the sort, I...!", Kherem stepped back from the human girl, staring inbetween her, Lumi and Oormi in confusion and panic, his gaze on the two kitsunes. "T-Theres nothing between me and Melissa, we just met but minutes ago!"

Kherem rose his hands, grasping his head, making quick, deep breaths, hyperventilating as he tried to cope with the situation, clearly doing so poorly with the ceaseless teasing, embarassment and humiliation. And then something must've snapped. He got a blank look to his eyes, his breathing calming considerably as his arms fell down to hang limply. Kherem would simply stand there, as if having pushed the world away, merely waiting for the scheduled fight to begin.

[Incase of touchy-feely attempts]
Attempts to get his attention would fall on deaf ears, the only reaction Kherem would give would be a short stare on whomever spoke or approached him. Attempts to touch him would be met with a quick, if fairly harmless, swat on the fingers or with him merely taking a rapid step away. The only thing that would draw a more meaningful reaction from him would be any announcement of the battle being about to begin, where he'd simply stride out into the arena, with him being oblivious wether or not the others chose to follow him.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

The blind girl scratched her head in confusion as the blonde one doubled over in a fit of laughter. She wasn't entirely sure if the other female kitsune was laughing at her views or something else entirely. Not that it mattered, any doubts that might have been raised about the situation by Lumi's giggle fit faded away instantly as Melissa's words supported the short foxgirl's misguided thoughts. Even Kherem could say nothing to change Oormi's mind once she got it into her head that the two were a pair. Unfortunately for the tall warrior, his differences in expression were too difficult to pick up with the miniscule amount of energy that the shorter fighter was using for her vision.

"I understand!" She finally announced when the other three had said, or giggled, their pieces. She turned toward Kherem, heedless of his lack of response and without notice of her hand in apparently breaking him. "You don't have to be embarrassed about your love, Master Kherem! It may be the ferry-woman that I give my nightly prayers to, but I can be a shepherd of romance as well!" Oormi proclaimed her words with a conviction and spirit that belied her polite nature up until that point, clenching a fist to her chest the entire time. "I pledge on my honor as a swordsman that I will do my best so that we can claim victory and the prize winnings in order to allow you to purchase a proper engagement ring for Mis- for Melissa, that you may show your love without shame!"

At that point, the blind girl faced herself toward the doors which would take them to the arena proper and prepared to follow the others to their battle, saying nothing else unless prompted. When it was time, she would march into the coliseum, burning, misguided spirit leading her way.

This would probably be a decent point to use Wind Armor if allowed before the arena fight.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Kherem: HP = 90, PP = 55, EP = 55, Status = Fine

Melissa: HP = 51, PP = 61, EP = 40, Status = Fine

Lumi: HP = 54, PP = 70, EP = 56, Status = Fine

Oormi: HP = 80, PP = 72, EP = 54/60, Status = Fine, Wind Armor, +12 Perception (Lesser Strength)

As it turned out, there was no further opportunity for Melissa to harass Kherem, as the doors into the arena opened and a pair of guards gestured for them to enter. Once inside, Kherem would be greeted by the familiar sight of the crowded Acheron arena, only this time the stands were full to bursting. A deafening wave of sound washed over the four of them at their entrance, the roar of the crowd greeting them as they entered the place where some or all of them might be about to die.

The roar of the crowd wasn't enough to drown out the sounds of a voice from the center of the arena, a raised platform supported by arching pathways; "Welcome, one and all, to the Grand Arena!" There was a particularly loud cheer, and the voice allowed it to subside before continuing; "Tonight we have a grand melee for your enjoyment as much as the Queens! Eight teams, each composed of four fighters, will enter the arena, two at a time, until only one group of four remains!" There was another round of screaming and applause before the voice offered its conclusion; "And, without further ado, the second bout of today's tournament! On the Eastern side of the Arena, we have a group of newcomers, though some of you might recognize the fellow leading them as a fighter from yesterday's public battles! Give a warm welcome to the Foxy Fighters, for they may die before your eyes in but a few short moments!"

There was an uproar, cheers and jeers mixed in a jumble that was impossible to interpret as support or condemnation concretely. "And, their opponents, in the Western side of the Arena," the booming voice said when their greeting from the crowd had died down, "a group that needs no introduction! The personal guard of Lady Ash, the Four Blazing Knights!" Their opponents, as it turned out, were a quartet of lithe figures clad in black armor, but unlike the full plate worn by most demon knights, these four seemed to be clad in thinner protective gear. Oormi felt their energies before she saw them, but as each and every one of their group was attuned in some way to magic, each of them could feel that the four standing across the arena from them was powerful on their own. Each was also distinctly demonic, though whether that mattered or not was a matter of choice for each of them.

"And, now that introductions are in order..... FIGHT!!!" The voice said loudly, and the crowd echoed its final words as their black armored opponents stepped forward to charge in their direction. What each of them would do to prepare for the oncoming battle was up to them to decide.

When the arena doors open, Lumi quickly composes herself and mutters the words of a spell, disappearing from the view though her sides are still shaking with the remains of laughter. With quick steps, the now invisible kitsune moves to the side, preparing to cast another spell. The gestures flow easily on the kitsune's supple fingers as she wordlessly unleashes the powerful spell, aiming to quickly knock out at least one of the knights. A shimmering surrounds the leftmost of the knights momentarily as the spell creates a field of force, only to suddenly slam inwards, aiming to crush the unfortunate knight.
Casting invisibility: base casting 25+10 from focus, DC 20. Stealth is now 38.
Second round: Implosion: Casting check 1d20+35 vs DC 30. Attack roll(if stealth failed, somehow) 1d20+50 Damage: (2d4+50/6+2)*6(*2 for silent spell)
Total EP used: 4(invisibility)+6(implosion)+2(upkeep)=12

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

The blind foxgirl couldn't even truly visualize the four at her distance from them. The knights' auras were powerful enough that they blocked her wave vision. Instead of four lightly armored demons, Oormi could see in her mind four clouds of red, the natural color of a demon's aura beneath her waves, surrounded by strands of colored lights. Her inability to make them out at a distance brought her little stress. Once they came closer, the swordsman knew she would be able to distinguish them from their power.

What was concerning was how infrequently she had encountered someone with that kind of power. Her mother hadn't held that much of a reserve of energy, even as accomplished as she was as a fighter. Her father had as a spirit wielder, though they had never sparred. None of the gruffs or satyrs or sorceresses had such powerful auras. There was only one of the fae-folk who she personally knew who was both accomplished with a blade and brimmed with the sort of energy on display in front of her; a faerie knight. And Oormi had never won against that woman.

But calm and serenity came easily to the young kitsune. Her blindness had left her with little fear and training had taught her that a trembling sword-arm rarely hit its mark. Besides, her parents had defeated far worse enemies than those in front of her. It was her time to prove that her affliction wouldn't stop her from being every bit the warrior and adventurer that her father and mother were, not as long as she had her waves. The kitsune drew her blade from her side, creating an audible rasp as the faerie-made weapon slid from its wooden and leather-wrapped scabbard. She held it in front of her face for a moment, in a mixture of salute and for use as a focus as she empowered herself for the battle ahead.

Once her spell was cast, she allowed her sword-arm to drop to her side, assuming a very loose stance. She knew she couldn't let her new team down. The blind girl would give her all to pull her weight in the fight ahead. Mustering her courage, Oormi would next charge at one of the knights, swinging at any openings the lightly armored opponent might leave her in a deadly dance of steel.

Round 1!
Oormi uses quick-draw to ready her sword as a free action and casts a level 3 +Body buff on herself (Strength, Body tree).

38/6 = 6 * 3 = +18 body.
4 EP to cast, 1 EP upkeep (Strange, I thought wind armor had upkeep too.)
20 Casting DC, Oormi has 19 Base Casting. So... failure on a roll of 0. >.>

Probably Applicable Stats (with buffs): 64 Dodge, 7 (TP = 25, DU = 1) armor, 36 Resistance, 19 Perception
Enemies must win a resistance check against her or their attacks automatically miss.
Round 2!
Oormi uses Defensive Fighting 20:20, Lightning Strikes, and Battle Dance, then moves to and attacks on of the knights who isn't currently engaged with any of her allies.
(Using the flat of her sword. She's trying not to murder the other arena combatants).

3x One-Handed Sword Attacks:
Attack: +54 = 56 [Base] + 18 [Buff] + 12 [Battle Dance] - 20 [Defensive Fighting] - 12 [Lightning Strikes]
Damage: 2d6 + 36 = 33 [Base] + 9 [Buff] - 6 [Lightning Strikes]

Probably Applicable Stats (with buffs): 96 Dodge, 7 (TP = 25, DU = 1) armor, 36 Resistance, 19 Perception
Enemies must win a resistance check against her or their attacks automatically miss.
1 EP upkeep, 4 HP upkeep.

Cheat Sheet

When being attacked by powers or spells, Oormi gains +10 dodge and has +10 resistance against their effects.

Oormi takes +4 PP and EP damage.
She takes *1.5 corruption from anything that would cause her to gain corruption.
Despite having kitsune heritage, Oormi does not drain EP or absorb people unless specifically noted as she doesn't yet realize she can.

She has fertility and becomes pregnant on a roll of 2 or higher.

Other stats (This is basically a note for me): 27 Speed, +18 to attack.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Kherem wouldn't react to the announcers words, or the crowd surrounding the arena, his blank eyes fixated upon the four knights ahead of him. His first choice of action was to thrust a hand forward, his shadow shooting forward while also extending towards his back and sides, if only slightly so in the latter cases, creating a sphere of darkness eight feet all and covering as large an area as possible inside the arena. His only focus was to blind the knights, but to leave everyone else capable of seeing through the darkness, although the spiritually created darkness would show everything inside it as black and white. Following this, Kherems next action would be to draw the shadows upon and around his form, to form a black carapace to protect and empower him.

Round 1: Kherem uses Patch of Darkness, 8 feet tall, spreading into the arena to surround the knights. Only the Knights are targetted to be blinded, leaving everyone else capable of seeing what is going on, albeit in black and white colors only.

Round 2: Kherem uses Dark Armor with 5EP magnitude, resulting in +15 Armor/Damage/Grapple and +5 Stealth, with 3EP Upkeep.

Round 3: If a clash happens and additional action is required, default to Kherem attacking w/ Sudden Strike

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Initially amused, Melissa soon became concerned by the state of the fox-kid. He was so flustered he needed to enter a martial trance? That was pretty fucked up – the puppy was more of a basket case than she had been expecting. …Still, it was the odd ones that held the daemon-born’s interest.

Walking out into that full crowd, all watching intently towards the centre… all those individuals fixed on her every move, being watched by creatures she didn’t know and hadn’t gotten to get a feel for without a single place to hide and no idea what they might do – Melissa winced. Being the centre of a crowd’s attention always brought unease out in her. She wouldn’t be able to enjoy the battle at all, that much was clear.

…Still, it wasn’t going to stop her from fighting. Nor was the strength of her opponents; she was aware of the power within them, but far from consciously able to perceive their abilities. Powerful or not, they were in light armour which meant the trick should be in landing hits. Her allies might have their pre-emptive power-up routines, but the lone human in the group was considerably more forward once in combat. She took the crossbow on her back – so large a weapon that it seemed odd for a comparatively lithe woman like Melissa to be able to carry or aim it – and immediately fired it at the closest of the charging guards, the demon hopefully having enough momentum that he wouldn’t be able to dodge the poisoned bolt.

Whether the bolt struck or not, the mundane fighter immediately dropped the crossbow where she stood, taking an equally unwieldy halberd from the straps on her back and planting her feet apart, taking up the base stance of any trained spear-user waiting to intercept cavalry. …Of course, the demons weren’t (in this case) horses, so her actual aim had to be lower, but the general principle still applied. With a halberd, as any polearm, the idea was to keep the enemy away from you while prodding them with spiky bits of metal; when the enemy managed to get close, the fight tended to go poorly for the one with the longer reach. Melissa did not typically believe this philosophy, and under normal circumstances would probably have been charging the queen’s guard right back, had the crowd not been putting her off of her game or her usual enjoyment.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Kherem: HP = 29/90, PP = 55, EP = 45/55, Status = Badly Injured, Dark Armor X = 5

Melissa: HP = 0/59, PP = 65, EP = 44, Status = Out Cold

Lumi: HP = 54, PP = 70, EP = 44/56, Status = Fine, Invisibility

Oormi: HP = 80, PP = 72, EP = 50/60, Status = Fine, Wind Armor, +12 Perception (Lesser Strength,) +18 Body (Strength)

Rolls
Round 1
Casting (Oormi) : Success. +18 Body!

Casting (Lumi) : Success. Invisibility!

Attack (Melissa) : Hit.
Damage: 6 + 5 + 1 + 9 - 15 (ignored 4 AV) = 6 damage on knight 3.
Resistance: Enemy wins.

Kherem uses Patch of Darkness!

The knights activate Aspect of Spirit X = 8, +4X attack rolls, +3X Perception and melee damage rolls. They also advance, dropping the distance between them and the group by 50 feet.

Round 2
Oormi moves to join a knight in battle~
Attacks: 2/3 hit.
Damage: 3 + 4 + 36 - 19 = 24 damage per hit, total of 48 damage.

Stealth (Lumi) : Success.
Attack: Automatic hit.
Damage: 3 + 1 + 8 + 2 = 14 * 6 = 84 * 2 = 168 - 19 = 149 damage.

Kherem activates Dark Armor X = 5.

Attack (Melissa) : Hit.
Damage: 2 + 7 + 22 + 13 - 19 = 25 damage.

Knights attack!
Attack: Melissa hit, Kherem hit, Oormi hit,
Resistance: Oormi wins, his attack wiffs.
Damage: 6 + 8 + 45 + 24 = 83 damage. 78 on Melissa, 61 on Kherem. They are both also naked now.

The initial moments of the arena match included a vast and varied display of magical power. Kherem blanketed the arena around them in darkness, while Lumi made herself invisible and Oormi cast a spell to enhance her strength. Their opponents charged forward, their own magics causing strange auroras to form around them. The only one who didn't display any magical prowess was Melissa, and she enacted a more mundane strategy. She pulled forth her crossbow and sent a bolt downrange, striking her target in the shoulder before discarding her ranged weapon in favor of her halberd. The knight didn't even stumble as he took the hit, and smoothly yanked the shot out and dropped it as he, along with his companions, drew forth a greatsword.

Lumi's foe, despite being completely unable to see her, continued to charge forward despite this. Unfortunately for him, she didn't need proximity to strike against her foes, as the crowd roared with pleasure as he was seized by the edge of her spell and tugged inwards. The knight's armor was crushed inwards by the power of the spell, and he collapsed to the ground in a heap. The other tow knight's charged into their midst, and Oormi moved forth to meet him in a loose stance. Utilizing her agility, the blind kitsune dodged the armored warrior's initial strike, the wind swirling around her and blocking the knight's dexterous swing that would have plowed right through her defenses without it, and managed to land two quick hits on her opponent, though the third was deflected by the swordsman's heavier blade.

Melissa's halberd bit into her opponent's side as she leveled it to block his charge, but before the knight could be fully impaled on the blade he twisted aside, pushing her weapon away using his blade and then half spinning. The gleam of that flat of his blade was hidden by the darkness that her ally had summoned, leaving everything in black and white, and after it slammed into the side of her head it was purely black. Melissa fell backwards as her consciousness left her, drawing an approving roar from the crowd as their two groups were left at one fighter down apiece. Finally, the one charging upon Kherem slashed through his newly formed shadow armor, leaving a gash in the kitsune's flesh that stained his fur dark red with blood.

Aspect of Spirit X = 8, +32 attack, +24 Perception and melee damage.
Knight 1: taken 48 damage.
Knight 2: down
Knight 3: taken 31 damage
Knight 4: fine

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

The blind foxgirl maintained her flowing stance as she clashed with the knight. There was no point in going for the parry, she knew greatsword combat well enough, her opponent would probably crush right through her one-handed style's blocks. And, despite appearances, the lengthy steel, when wielded by an appropriate warrior, could nearly match her own in speed. In theory, it was all about skirmishing in and out of reach of the deadly weapon until the knight left himself open and she could land a series of hits on him. Entirely in theory, as she had never fared well against any of the greatsword wielders she had fought before. Still, it was the agile kitsune's plan as she made a few probing strikes in the hopes of coaxing a predictable enough swing from him that she might land a few more blows.

She never bothered to check on her allies. It was difficult enough to keep track of her opponent's blade for the way her waves painted it in garish colors. They would do what they had to do, Oormi believed in that, and her getting distracted by their plights and allowing the knight to strike her down would only cause them more trouble in the end.

Oormi uses Lightning Strikes + Battle Dance + Power Jab on Knight 1! Still using the flat of her blade! Do it live!

3x One-Handed Sword attacks.
Attack: +74 = 56 [Base] + 18 [Buff] + 12 [Battle Dance] - 12 [Lightning Strikes]
Damage: 2d6 + 46 = 33 [Base] + 10 [Power Jab] + 9 [Buff] - 6 [Lightning Strikes]

For a moment Lumi can only watch the graceful Oormi in wonder. How did she do that? She's blind, for gods' sake. Seeing her other companions faring badly leaves Lumi little time for wondering, however. Kherem seemed capable as well, but with Melissa down, she doubted if either of the other kitsune could fare against two knights. With a grandeur gesture Lumi reaches through space towards the knight who had stricken Melissa down. As the kitsune's invisible hand curls into fist, a much larger fist made from pure force wraps around the knight, crushing him on the spot.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Kherem saw his opponent charging towards him, but he had been too slow, his preparations had taken too much time. With a feral, pained snarl, he felt the blade tear through his flimsy robe and dig greedily into his flesh, while nearby Melissa and Oormi were both beset by their own adversaries, with the human girl being felled startingly quick by the demon knight. The tall warrior braced himself, not allowing himself to lose ground despite the savage assault he had endured, and lashed his left sword forward, a vicious thrust aimed at the knights chest. Melissa's defeat and his own grievous injury was enough fuel for his rage. "You cut me", he began to speak, pausing briefly as he rose his other sword into the air and brought it down in a swift overhead slash upon the demon knight. "AND I RETURN THE FAVOR!", he snarled the words out, there was no mercy, no pity, in the Kitsunes assault, for such dangerous foes deserved none of it.

Kherem activates Whirling Death and Rage, gaining +18 to Hit, +18 Damage, +12AV, Can't Dodge and takes 4 AV Ignoring damage per round.

Kherem uses Sudden Strike on both his attacks. Modified Stealth is 29(29 Base, +5 from Dark Armor, -5 from Sudden Strike use).

Modified Weapon Stats(Before Sudden Strike) is 2d6+46 w/ +83 to Hit

Kherem also activates Unrelenting Fury

Rolls
Oormi attacks!
Attacks: All three hit.
Damage: 6 + 4 + 46 - 19 = 37 damage per hit, total of fuckton of damage.

Stealth (Lumi) : Success.
Attack: Automatic hit.
Damage: 3 + 4 + 8 + 2 = 17 * 6 = idgaf, he's down

Kherem attacks!
Stealth: One failure, one success.
Attacks: Hit and Automatic Hit.
Damage: 4 + 6 + 46 = 56 * 3 = waaaaay more HP than these guys have.

TPK ahoy! Everybody gain 6 experience!

Kherem's brutal assault upon the knight opened and ended with a pair of swings, one of which the knight moved to block with his own blade. Unfortunately, the armored figure didn't even notice the second swing until it had passed through their throat, passing cleanly between helmet and chestpiece. A spray of blood coated the furry kitsune, painting him red, and the shock from the the first blow was enough to allow the second to sweep past the knight's guard and finish what his other sword had started. The knight fell in two pieces, his head rolling away from his body, and he collapsed into a slowly spreading pool of his own blood.

Oormi and Lumi, in comparison, were far less brutal in their methods of dealing with their opponents. The lithe blind kitsune sent a trio of strikes against her foe that culminated in a sharp bap on the top of his helmeted head, after which he collapsed to the ground unconscious. Lumi, in the meantime, sent a burst of magic towards the knight that had knocked Melissa out, her armor crumpling inwards and dropping her like the first that the kitsune had sent her magic against. And, like that, the fight was over.

The crowd jeered and cheered, particularly when Kherem had decapitated one of the knights, though Oormi at least hadn't missed a single anguished scream coming from somewhere high up in the stands. A moment later, the announcer's voice sounded over the loud din of the crowd;

"And it's over! With a vicious decapitation from the Foxy Fighters team leader, Kherem the Bloody, the Four Blazing Knights are FINISHED!!! With bladework like that, who knows what'll happen in their next round! If they could be so kind as to collect their wounded and return to the cell, we can get the arena floor cleaned up and get the next match underway!"

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Upon hearing their victory announced, the apparent leader of the Foxy Fighters' shadowy skin was shedded, discarded like an old shell and vanished soon after, along with it most of the blood that had sprayed upon him thanks to the grissly end he brought his opponent. Putting his swords away, he next licked his palm, and tried to scrub away some of his own blood while at the same time using his shapeshifting powers to staunch or at least lessen the flow of his vital fluids. That was all he could, or would, do regarding his own wounds to start with.

The tall Kitsune gave his fellow kin a quick glance each, and seeing how they were okay, he turned his attention to the fallen of their group. Melissa. Crouching by her side, he'd briefly check to make sure she was still breathing and alive, and then unceremoniously lift her up like a sack of potatoes over his shoulder. On the side that wasn't leaking blood of course. Then he made his way back to their appointed cell, although with slow, slightly shaky steps. After a few paces, he'd look over his shoulder. "You two mind bringing Melissa's weapons?", he'd say as an afterthought, and then continued on his way.

Once back in the cell, Kherem would carefully put down Melissa on best available surface, be it a bed, bench, chair or simply the floor depending on what was available, and in that order of preference.

[Multi-Option Action]
Kherem would bring out one of his Healing Potions and carefully have the unconscious(or barely conscious) Melissa drink it unless another source of healing was provided, be it a Healer, Lumi or otherwise. If such a healing source is offered, Kherem will motion to Melissa and bluntly, wearily utter "Heal her first."
And after that, Kherem would simply slump down nearby, breathing deeply and trying to catch his breath after the damage he had endured during the fight.

After her opponent had crumpled beneath the weight of her weapon, the blind foxgirl's head swiveled, attempting to discern what had become of the other opponents. She took a quick count: all other enemies were down, along with Melissa. Counting the one she had knocked out, three massive auras were still detectable by her wave-sight, as was the humanoid woman's, the last knight's power, however, was not. The array of red color surrounding the powerful warrior dissipated into the air like so much steam, the first signal that alerted the kitsune to his demise. The second piece of evidence came in that, without the overpowering globe of red around him, she could spot his body even from her distance, and his head, which wasn't connected.

She frowned at the idea. It had been her first serious battle on such a large scale, and her instructors had always explained to her that there was no hesitation, it was kill or be killed, but she didn't know if she could really accept that. Watching his power drift away into the wind was nothing short of depressing and it was made even more difficult to bear as, with her hearing, she pinpointed an anguished wail in the crowds.

Without paying much attention to the announcer's words, the blind kitsune finally sheathed her sword. She strode to the dead knight's side and, once she had arrived there, pressed her palms and fingers together in front of her chest and bowed her head as she said a short prayer. "I did not know you or your name, sir knight, but may the ferry-woman carry your soul to its proper resting place." It wouldn't be much consolation for whoever had lost him, but he had fought valiantly and deserved at least that much.

With that, she turned to Kherem. Without hesitation, she nodded at his request, picking up the heavy crossbow, and the polearm, if Lumi didn't, her empowered body allowing her to do so easily enough, and following after him. The kitsune did not dislike her kin for what he had done, nor did she hold any grudge against him for it. A battle was a battle, and death had been listed as a possibility in the arena. But she'd be lying if she said it didn't sadden her, as evidenced by the small frown she wore all the way back to the cell.

Note: if, for whatever reason, dem alraune nurses aren't quick to tend to the wounded, Oormi will stop Kherem from using his healing potion on Melissa and start casting Nature's Breath (level 1 Bolt, Heal) on her until she's at full health, and then Kherem. In the event that it becomes an issue: Base Casting: 19, DC 0, EP 0, 2d4 + 6 HP healed. Might require a lot of casting. >.>

Beyond that, she drops battle dance, sheathes her weapon, carries Melissa's weapons to the cell, and will maintain her body buff for one more round (1 EP cost) for fluff reasons before dropping it. Maintain wind armor and her perception buff, though.

Probably Applicable Stats (with buffs and penalties): 45 Dodge, 7 (TP = 25, DU = 1) armor, 27 Resistance, 15 Perception
Enemies must win a resistance check against her or their attacks automatically miss.

Moments after being announced the winner, Lumi fades into view next to Melissa, looking down on the half-daemon and preparing to heal her just as Kherem throws her over his shoulder.

Seeing Oormi pick up Melissa's weapons, the white-eared kitsune simply follows Kherem to the cell before dropping on her knees next to the fallen and quickly healing her. Frowning, Lumi turns to look at Kherem. "Lay down. And pull aside your armor so I can see the wound."

Assuming Kherem follows her instructions, Lumi heals him as well, with equal efficiency.

Using Healing touch, least for (2d6+10)*2 per casting

Her aim had been off, damn it. The knight hadn’t even tried to dodge, and it hadn’t needed to. Focus more… though their cheers were more obvious, it was the crowd’s stares that were getting to the half-daemon. The only times a group oe people focused on her was when she had done something rather bad, rather publically, and so had developed a subconscious uneasiness towards lots of strangers looking in her direction. The demon running headlong into her halberd would have taken her by surprise one way or the other, but her discomfort didn’t help her recover any. And when the blade came down, flat side to her, the human only had one thought before the blackness took her.

Melissa re-entered the world of the waking quite quickly, thanks to Lumi’s efforts, not that the human showed anyoutward appreciation. “Bloody hell… did we win? Hooray…” she was obviously a little sour, though at her own performance, and the distinct lack of enjoyment she had gotten out of the fight. Having her weapons returned to her reminded the violent woman of her companions. “Ah, thanks. For the healing, too.” She immediately inspected the pair of heavy armaments for damage, finding nothing beyond the inconsequential scrapes of being dropped.

“When’s our next match?” she took a moment to continue inspecting her weapons, reloading a bolt into the crossbow. “… I’ll try to keep one of them occupied next time, right off the bat. If it works, you’ll want to focus on them, before they recover.” Melissa didn't like being the one to have to form plans; she wasn't very good at it, and it was more Lor's job. The handmaiden might have regretted splitting up from her sisters, but she was not the kind for such introspective thoughts. These foxes had gotten her through the first round alive, so they clearly knew what they were doing, even the silly one with the trick eyecloth.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Kherem had given Oormi a brief, curious look as the female kitsune had approached the fallen enemy, and offered a short prayer for him. He felt nothing for his opponent. But he had ended a life, no matter what the circumstance was. Something to reflect upon.

---------

Once Melissa had been tended to, and Lumi's attention was brought to him, he would do as told and lay on his back, gritting his teeth a little. He brought his hands to his badly damaged robes, near the wound, and would unceremoniously tear the fabric further to reveal the harm that had been inflicted on him without complaint. "Thank you, Lady Lumi.", he spoke quietly, trying to preserve his energy.

His ears twitched a little as Melissa spoke, and turned his head to face the human, smiling sheepishly. "We won. Thanks to Lady Lumi and Lady Oormi.", he smiled weakly, and groaned quietly. "I was ill prepared, as I was not expecting such worthwhile opponents in the first round.". A mild frown crossed his lips. His ears twitched again. "The next match is likely to be had soon enough, I imagine. While I do hope for some time to recouperate, I will not hold my breath for such luxury.". After listening to Melissa offering some strategy, the furred warrior got a ponderous look to him. Yes. That was a good idea. He nodded slightly, as if confirming his own thoughts.

"You bring up a good point, Melissa. We are fighting together now. Our victory, perhaps even our lives, are in eachothers hands.", he paused briefly, letting his words sink in. "I should have thought of it before. We barely know each other after all.", and with that, he would slowly try to push himself up to a sitting position unless Lumi kept him down. Regardless, he would keep his wound exposed for her ministrations. "Fighting is all I know about. There is little I can offer but clashing blades with our adversaries.", his words solemn, regretful even, as if saddened that he couldn't offer more support then that to his newly made friends. "Lady Lumi and Lady Oormi on the other hand...", he smiled up as he mentioned the two kitsune ladies. "You are spellcasters, sorceresses, yes? If I may be so bold, perhaps you could lend your magics to me and Melissa? If you know of any boon that could aid us that is, it would be greatly appreciated."

Kherem paused again, looking to Melissa, a little sadly even. "Melissa, do not take this the wrong way, but if Lady Lumi and Lady Oormi only have limited magics to aid us with, I'd suggest that you accept their aid instead of me. You are no doubt a capable warrior, but from what little that I saw, I believe you are less suited then myself on the frontlines."

If at all possible, I ask for a mild timeout from the arena fighting if at all possible, so that the Foxy Fighters can do their strategy derps. Then again, I ain't gonna hold my breath for that.

If the next arena battle happens soon, Kherem will pre-cast Dark Armor at 10EP value before stepping into the arena. ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

The shortest of the three kitsune decided not to comment on Kherem's humility by pointing out that he had struck down as many opponents as she had. It might not have come off as genuine as it was intended to be, with the small frown she continued to sport after recognizing the knight's demise. "Not as such, no, Master Kherem," the blind girl responded instead to his question about her spellcasting capabilities. "I can emulate basic magics, including empowering others, but should you require any complex spells Miss Lumi appears far more focused and capable than myself."

She turned her head toward the swirl of colors that was the half-daemon, recognizing her mostly by her height, body shape, and lack of a tail. The short foxgirl offered her hand to the woman. "For a person so brave as to risk herself that we might get through the battle unscathed, I would be honored to offer my powers. If you would, shake my hand. I'll give you as strong a boon as I am able, that you may fight side by side with Master Kherem." Her frown finally broke into a small smile as the clueless kitsune seized the opportunity to further Melissa and Kherem's "love". If the halberd-wielder accepted Oormi's offer, she would feel something akin to a soft breeze washing over her, leaving her feeling somewhat stronger, after which the swordsman's hand would be gently pulled away.

"I would offer you a boon as well, Master Kherem, but I am already at my limit in maintaining my auras as they are. Anymore and I risk uselessness in the upcoming battle." Beyond that, Oormi would have to carefully manage her remaining energies if she were to avoid losing her wave-sight in the middle of a melee.

Note: Had to ignore urge to add "C'mon, won't you shake a poor sinners hand?"

Cast ye Strength (Level 3 Buff) on Melissa if she accepts.
38/6 = 6 * 3 = +18 Body.

Re: This is a Great Plan (Smokefish, Host, Hentaispider, and Hafnium)

Lumi acknowledges Melissa's thanks with a nod before focusing on healing Kherem again while listening the others converse. It still takes her a while to realize that she's been asked a question and the white kitsune hesitates for a moment, finishing with the healing before answering.

"I'm afraid I'm... not very knowledgeable in such magics. Still, there are a few options. One spell that comes to mind would allow Melissa to better withstand blows by creating an armor of sorts. I could use the same spell on Kherem as well, though that's as far as my skill reaches. I would rather not risk taking a blow myself by letting the opponents see me, for I am not well-built to handle injuries, as experience has taught me."

“No kidding… I know when I’m outclassed. Even if this was a real engagement, and I didn’t have to stand in the open waiting for them to attack me, I wouldn’t stand much of a chance. All the time I spend sneaking around and beating back farmers and goblins looks to have left rust on my skill in real combat. Not that this showboating could be called that…” The human was clearly sulking at least a little, though it hopefully wouldn’t dampen her skills any further. “You can save your magic. This isn’t my kind of fight, and I don’t mind standing back in it. Unless you’ve got something that can improve my willpower? I’m no mage, or even able to fight with my soul, but I’ve got one trick up my sleeve you won’t see on the average Joe - and it’s what I’ll hold them with… assuming I can overcome their will.” For the first time in a little while, she grinned again. “Try not to be too surprised when I pull this off,” she directed to the not-quite blind kitsune with only the turn of her head, then switched the look to Kherem. “or too distracted…”
