Strike moves to Helena's side, looking at the other spider. As Helena pokes it, the spider lets go of Cindy and backs away enough for Helena to see it's back: instead of a silvery cross its back is covered in crimson with several black spots in the form of a square. The spider seems wary of Strike, who in turn is simply curious.

Helena sits down on the ground and sets the javelin aside for now, turning her head to look at the spider curiously. Why the spider seemed to be wary of Strike of all things she had no idea, but it was strange. Rather then trying to talk to it again, Helena just tries to keep it calm, holding out her hand and smiling, and telling Strike to back up just a little and play nice.

Helena's handle animal is at least 9 maybe 10, so if that's applicable then cool

As Strike backs away, the other spider keeps looking at Helena curiously, and she can feel the wariness fading slightly. It moves a step towards Helena, keeping its eyes on her.

Helena doesn't move, just smiles warmly and looks back at the Spider before speaking. "Hello there... What are you doing out here?" She asks quietly, reaching out with her mind to gently brush at the Spider's. She assumed it wouldn't be as intelligent as Strike was, but she was certain there was a brain in that 8 eyed noggin.

The spider seems puzzled by Helena's behavior, and she can see it pulling it's legs under itself, as if preparing to pounce. Cindy seems frozen in place, still close enough to touch the spider.

Helena watches closely but doesn't move. It hadn't seemed violent... And she could only think of a few reasons why a Not hungry spider would grab someone... Regardless, it hardly mattered, she would find out one way or another soon.

The spider pokes Cindy, and turns to look at her. Now it's Cindy's turn to seem puzzled, and she reaches out to touch the spider, which immediately glomps her again.

"Well Cindy, I think you found a friend!" Helena says laughing, watching and wondering what had prompted the Spider to glomp Cindy in the first place, either way, she wasn't interfering. Everyone needed there own personal 8 legged friend after all.

"This is really weird." is all Cindy says, busy as she is being hugged. Jasmine laughs heartily. "It must be something about you that attracts friendly spiders, Helena."

Helena laughs with Jasmine and shrugs. "It's not my fault, I met Strike on the base! Cindy, come on, we need to get going, bring it with if you want. Knowing our luck it'll just follow us anyway."

Helena shook her head and poked at Strike, asking her if she could talk to the other Spider, make it understand they were travelling.

Strike doesn't seem to quite understand what Helena is getting at. Regardless, the spider lets go of Cindy, and when the party gets moving, it seems to be trudging along.

"Hey Jasmine, What are the odds we could bind our new friend here to Cindy like Strike is to me?" Helena asked, watching the new addition move with them. One could never have enough spiders.

"Well, the ritual isn't too difficult, but she'd need power of her own for that." Jasmine replies idly. "Of course, giving her that power shouldn't be too difficult..."

Cindy seems shocked by the suggestion. "You can't be serious!"

"Umm Yea, What, Don't find the idea of being one of us appealing?" Helena asked, looking at her and scratching Strike's head as they walked.

"You were curious before, you seemed interested." Helena said after a moment. "The trainings not bad, Mine was.... There was.... I was on a time table" Helena says after a moment, feeling Cindy out, checking her interest, and why.

"Yeah, but that was different! I'm a normal person, I have a family, I've lived here all my life! And I want to stay a normal person and settle down and have a family of my own, some day." Cindy seems quite agitated, and Helena can also feel underlying fear.

Helena stops and looks at Cindy, shes not mad, but she's speaking quietly. "I had what counts for a family once, So did Jasmine, and both of us are from other worlds entirely. Its nothing to be afraid of, just another choice. No one here is going to force you."

Finishing, Helena turned to keep walking, dropping the topic for now but keeping an eye on Cindy's mood.

Cindy falls silent, apparently realizing she went too far. Jasmine is equally quiet, keeping an eye out as they walk, and the two spiders are marching behind the trio not quite in pace with each other, keeping clear of each other.

The air starts growing warmer as the morning sun peeks out from under the clouds, and it would seem that the clouds are thinning, promising sunny weather for the afternoon.

Helena breaks the silence after a moment, wondering if Jasmine would indulge her. "Tell me Jasmine, what was France like long ago back when you were young? I've always been curious."

"It was...different. As I told you earlier, I was born in 15th century, near Paris. Though our village was small, may travelers passed by and we were well protected, since there were always some Switzer so near the capital, either on their way to Paris to waste their coin or just waiting for orders. I stayed in that small village in the midst of rolling hills and farms all my childhood, watching all those travelers passing by. When I was sixteen, I moved to live in Paris, just as the war of Naples was starting. Even then it was a city of arts, with most of the artists starving in the streets in the midst of other beggars while the nobles ate banquettes every night. I never saw much art except when I went to church, but at least I got to stay off of those narrow streets at nights when they filled with the worst scum and those who would hunt on them."

Helena was absolutely silent as the story was given, sending Jasmine comfort and love for her big Sis, and watching Cindy's mood with extreme scrutiny.

"Thanks Jasmine, It sounds like an incredibly interesting place. I know how I became your Sister, but how did you? I've always been curious about that. You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

Helena was nervous as hell about that question, afraid of how Jasmine would react to something that Helena saw as an extremely personal inquiry. Regardless, if she chose to answer, then more to the better, if not, Then Helena would never ask again. It was a private matter, but she hoped she hadn't offended.

The answer to this question as well would have an effect on Cindy, and Helena kept her emotions under the same intense scrutiny, trying to puzzle the girl out. The added benefit was she got to know more about the woman that had saved her and that she respected so much.
