"I suppose we'll have to work on that. Later." Jasmine sits up, looking at Cindy, too. The girl in question is still doing her best to ignore the other two, although she's obviously not succeeding very well.

Helena laughs good naturedly and gets up to get dressed before plomping down on the other side of the wagon. "Cindy, I hope you don't mind my asking, but you seem very shy, why is that?"

There was no teasing in Helena's voice, only an honest question, lord knew Helena had answered plenty lately, maybe she would reciprocate a little.

Jasmine gets dressed as Helena does, cleaning her face with her tongue and sitting down near Cindy.

The girl finally puts the book down. "S-shy? It's not normal to act like that!"

"Well Cindy, think of it this way. You know what Jasmine is, and you know I used to be what Jasmine is... So for us, it's very normal and extremely enjoyable to be honest. Sorry to make you uncomfortable..."

Cindy hesitates for a moment. "I guess I understand."

Cindy finally looks at Helena's face, only to blush again and hand her a napkin.

Helena snickers a little and cleans up her face, before smiling again at Cindy. "Just something you may have to get used to Cindy, There's going to be a great deal of it, but do try to keep an open mind, there's nothing shameful about enjoying a trusted friends company." Sitting down again, Helena decided it had been too long since she sang anything, and broke into a tune her and Jasmine had sung together many times before. Most notably when Jasmine had informed her she was tonedeaf as a stone...

Cindy pulls out her book again as Helena starts singing, and soon Jasmine joins in, her voice turning the song into a nice duet.

About two hours later the wagons stop for the night. Again the three women get a campfire to themselves, but this time many of the drivers are giving them covert glances, and they're obviously a topic to much discussion.

Helena would rather do something about it then be muttered about constantly, it drove her nuts... Standing up, she slowly made her way over to one of the other fires, being as quiet as she could be and trying to stay out of the light.

As Helena tries to approach the campfire, she steps on a dry piece of wood which snaps loudly under her weight, causing the conversation to stop and the men to turn to look at her momentarily, before turning back and starting to talk about mundane things.

Helena says "fuck it" under her breath before simply taking a seat nearby. "Look guys, I'm not deaf, and we're not witches. Can't you just be happy that we helped keep the caravan intact, along with your goods in your hands, and let it rest?"

The men seem to relax, and one of them answers Helena. "Hey, we're not all like Jim. He grew up in Tepest and they're real superstitious folk there."

Helena sighs and smiles "Thanks guys, I appreciate it. We're honestly and truly just making our way to the city."

Standing up Helena gave them all a smile and wave "You boys have a good night ok? I'm sure we'll see you in the morning" Turning, she made her way back to their own fire, sitting down and staring into the flames again.

The men murmur in agreement as Helena leaves. Jasmine and Cindy are already cooking, a simple fare that smells of curious mixture of herbs, though the smell of meat underneath it is the sweetest of all to Helena's nose.

Helena tries to ignore it... but before long she's salivating and trying very very hard NOT to look at the cooking food. Shaking her head after a bit, she dug around in her pack for a small strip of the dried pork and chewed on that while she waited. "The men are nice enough, and apparently Jim is just a superstitious asshole. I would assume Jim was the guy driving our wagon"

Waiting for the food to finish cooking, Helena happily took her portion, but ate it slowly, savoring the smell and the flavor in a fashion unlike her at all. It was the smell... She just didn't want to put it down...

Jasmine gives Helena a wondering look, but doesn't say anything. Once they've eaten, Cindy stands up and walks out of the circle of the wagons.

Helena has a few guesses for what she's going to take care of, and then remembers David... Casting her mind around for Strike, she checked to see how close the spider was before sending a thought to Jasmine, also remembering the werewolves... *Umm Jasmine, should she be wandering out of the wagons?*

Strike has managed to keep pace with the wagons, and is somewhere nearby, though a fair bit into the forest. *Why not? She can take care of herself. And I doubt she'll be too long.*

"If you say so..." Still, Helena didn't like the idea of Cindy away from the people or the light. Sitting and staring after her, she waited for her to come back.

Perhaps half an hour later, Cindy walks back without a word, sitting near the campfire again, visibly more relaxed.

Helena doesn't ask questions, and soon starts to yawn, being the first to turn in it would seem. Saying goodnight, she headed over and got undressed before crawling, dutifully, in the center of the bed, soon passing out and snoring happily.
