Jasmine casts fireball, all werewolves down there take 15 points of damage

The werewolf leaps towards Helena, managing to take a hold of her leg even as she swings the morningstar, connecting with the monster's shoulder with a loud thud as the spikes tear flesh. Jasmine unleashes a fireball, scattering or killing the wolves and causing the remaining lycanthropes to howl in pain, thankfully not appearing to start a forest fire. "You come down now!"

Helena gives a startled cry as the thing grabs her leg, striking down with her morningstar and feeling a satisfying impact. Swing at the creature again she tried to get it to let go before it yanked her out of the tree, adrenaline warring with panic....

As Helena's morningstar bites into the werewolf's back, the creature pulls her closer to it's maw, sinking its fangs into her leg just before a fiery bolt shoots out from Jasmine's hand, causing it to let go as it howls in pain before falling down. The other werewolves scatter quickly, ignoring their fallen comrade.

Helena gets another solid hit in before howling in pain as she feels the creatures teeth sink into her leg, white hot and searing even as the creature is blown back by Jasmine and tumbles down the tree. Pulling her leg to her, Helena refuses to move, hissing between clenched teeth as she stays balanced in the tree. "That son of a bitch Bit Me!"

"Well, shit." Jasmine quickly casts a spell, healing the wound. "Do you... feel any different?"

Helena stretches her leg after the wound closes, glaring down at the ground. "I feel pissed off that dog boy just Bit me, but other then that I feel fine. I sincerely doubt i'll be sleeping now though..." She says as she leans back against the trunk again, her weapon in her lap...

Helena nods and wraps an arm around Jasmine, keeping her head on a swivel and staying awake, wondering if they were stupid enough to come back to the crazy women in the tree, one of which could throw fire...

Several hours pass with Helena almost nodding off several times, only to feel itchy feeling all over herself, as if she was growing a fur...or is it just imagination? After a long time, the sun finally starts coloring the eastern horizon before the first rays of the dawn break over it.

The first time she felt it, Helena shuddered, thinking back on the old legends. As it continued to happen, she managed to convince herself that it was nerves and she was overreacting. As the sun peaked over the horizon, Helena gently shook Jasmine awake and watched the sunrise. "Lets get the hell out of here Jasmine, this place is out to kill us, I swear..."

Jasmine yawns as she sits up. "Sure. How are you feeling?" She pulls Helena close and jumps, only to gently float down to the forest floor.

Helena scrambles out of the tree "Itchy..." She says before stretching and and yawning again. Walking back onto the road, Helena digs out some supplies and goes to scrounge up some brush. Asking Jasmine to get the fire started to save a little time, She starts cooking up a simple breakfast with what they had.

Jasmine takes a look at the corpse of the dead werewolf, which has turned back into a human. When Helena starts gathering wood, she helps before sitting down and starting the fire with a burst of flame from her fingers before digging out sausages and turnips from her own bag. There's also a small kettle for cooking the turnips, and Jasmine turns out to have a pocket knife to help sharpening sticks for cooking the sausages.

Helena casts about with her mind for Strike, hoping she was alright as she ignored the itchy feeling and set about cooking the food with Jasmine's help. After all was said and done, she sat about eating like a human being for once, taking her time and thinking. "Why do you think he bit me?"

Jasmine sits next to Helena, eating her own portions quietly. Strike seems to be sleeping and not too far behind.

"Maybe he was hungry. I've never liked lycanthropes. Or maybe he wanted to turn you into a werewolf under his control."

"Hard to control someone when you're dead..." Helena snorts a little bit with amusement when she figures out Strike is still asleep, but was thankfully making decent time. Finishing up her meal, she waited for Jasmine to finish before setting about cleaning up and getting everything repacked and ready to move. "Well I feel better with some food in my stomach, lets just get out of here"

The pair makes good time despite everything that happened during the night. The forest gradually grows less dense, and the flat country is replaced by rolling hills as sun climbs higher. Despite several breaks, it's not long after midday when Helena and Jasmine walk on hilltop and see a village down in the valley, not much different from the last one.

As Helena crests the hill and sees the village she gives an audible sigh of relief. "A temporary reprieve from the insanity. And a bed that's not a tree" Heading down she made her way to the village, hoping this bunch was friendlier then the last...

The villagers don't seem to take much interested in the two women, despite everything that's unusual about them. As they walk into the inn, the innkeeper - a scarred man with slightly bestial features - greets them happily. "Good afternoon ladies. If you don't mind me asking, how long are you going to stay and how will you pay?"

Helena smiles, glad that at least this man seems friendlier then the last. "We don't know honestly, and we don't have much, is there the off chance there's any way I could work off the bill?" It was a long shot, but better then nothing. And the Blacksmith had been more then happy to give her a silver spiked mace in exchange for an errand run, there had to be something...
