Helena has been walking for a while when she realizes that she's being watched. As soon as her eyes find the spot, the creature runs away, not giving her a clear sight of it.

Helena rockets in the air immediately to get her bearings, she wasn't going to go tearing into an unfamiliar swamp without some idea of where she was, and luck permitting, it would be easier to track from the sky...

Helena finds herself still close to the edge of the swamp, though following the creature would take her further in, possibly towards one of the abandoned houses. Unfortunately the trees offer cover, so following it from air would be quite a challenge, if she can even find it again.

Helena makes a mental note of all the houses, and a conscious decision to avoid them at all costs, for obvious reasons. If this little chase of hers led her towards one, she would immediately abandon it and move in the opposite direction, recent events too fresh and painful to do anything else... Still, she landed again, and started looking in the direction she had seen it move, taking extra care to keep track of where she was...

It seems almost as if the creature wants her to track it, as it's always just out of sight, but doesn't seem to be getting away. It moves in anything but a straight line, but the direction is taking Helena further and further away from the town, making it hard to be sure where Helena is, exactly. It would be easy to get her bearings again, but unless it does want her to follow, getting into the air would almost certainly mean losing track of it.

Helena grits her teeth and keeps after it, staying on the ground and almost sprinting at this point, lowering her weight so her strides become long bounding leaps. Still, she kept her eyes open for familiar signs of that damned house. despite her curiosity, she didn't have the strength to go there...

Helena spots the creature at the same time as she spots the ghost house, not realizing where she is until too late. The creature has stopped running and is simply kneeling over something, its back turned. It seems to be shaking.

Helena immediately turns around where she is, refusing to go closer. She knew what she was chasing, she knew what was there, but she couldn't bring herself to look at what she had done.

Biting back tears, Helena began to walk away, determined to leave this event in the past along with her feelings and all of the pain. But Selene didn't deserve that much. When she was confident that she was out of sight of both the house, and the body, she reached out with her mind in the gentlest way possible, searching for what she knew had to be Selene. *I'm sorry Selene*

There is no reaction from Selene; if Helena didn't know better, she would think that there's no-one there.

Helena bites back more tears, saying it aloud this time "I'm so sorry, I am" Before walking further into the swamp and away from the house, there was nothing to find there anymore, only pain and regrets, and as fragile as she was now, she was certain she couldn't take it.

Looking down at the ground, her head hung in shame she just kept walking, waiting for it to pass.

There is still no sign, and as Helena walks away, the swamp seems to feed on her sadness, the shadows growing darker and the ground wetter.

Helena finally looks up at where she is, before jumping back in the sky and turning towards the town. She would find Heretage, one way or another, asleep or awake, at home or in the pits of hell, she had a question to be asked. Something about the book nagging at the back of her mind, reality was fluid, nothing was certain, and Magic, well.. Magic could bend the rules...

Helena finds the others still at the library, and Jasmine and Jason seem to be preparing for a ritual of some sort, with Ginny meditating in the middle and Red and Strike...playing cards, apparently, though a closer look would tell that either they're just pretending, or the rules they're using are really weird.

Helena says fidgeting before stroking his mind gently, and then pouring the events of Willow's demise into his mind with all the gentleness of a sledgehammer in an art gallery, she couldn't bring herself to say it. *I need her back Jason, There has to be a chance...*

Heretage cringes slightly, but shows no other reaction, his mind taking in the memories surprisingly easily. "I'm not the one you should be asking from. I specialize in otherwordly beings far more exotic than demons."

Helena takes a seat and thinks for a moment, running it all through. Her hands never sitting still and her eyes seemingly unfocused as she stared at the floor. She had acted in anger and without thinking, and now... the more she thought about everything, the more she realised the punishment hadn't fit the crime. What had she been thinking, and then it hit her, she hadn't been. She had panicked and let cruelty and malice get the best of her.

Looking back up to meet Jasmine's gaze she nodded once, she would make it right, somehow.
