As soon as helena thinks of the question, she can almost hear a whisper "Page 203." Everything except the book is looking really strange now, and Helena finds herself wondering whether the walls are really there or if she could just walk through them.

Helena doesn't think after a certain point, she knows, she knows the secret of walking through those walls is buried in this book, hidden as surely as the true nature of magic had been hidden for how many centuries. But sadly the book had answered her question and with a wistful sigh she turned to page 203, knowing an answer would be there.

The solution to the apparent paradox is really simple: The ritual is question doesn't really summon the creatures, it just calls for them and creates a way for the to manifest using their own power.

"Bingo! The spell acts as a bell, you simply place the call and let the creature manifest with its own power! Score one Helena!" Despite her better judgement Helena continues reading the accursed book, it was simply too revealing to put down...

"Hmm. Demons can't do that. Can you figure out what it calls for?"

Helena finds herself reading more and more of the mad ramblings, and slowly they start looking less and less mad. Yet even in its madness, the book does not dare reveal her anything about what it might be that is called.

Helena realizes that her search for a name is fruitless and will remain so as long as the book decides it is so. "No dice, nothing to be done on that count. Any luck on your end?"

"Well, I think I've figured out how to banish whatever comes out. Though we'll need some holy water for that."

Ginny gets up and closes the book. "I think I'll go get some from the church. Try to see if you can find out anything else useful."

"Righto!" Helena dives back into the necronomicon, useful was such a relative term, and banishing, well Killing was better. Helena bent her mind to the book again, looking for the means to destroy her enemies, who were generally of an unholy ilk, maybe something specifically engineered to slay demons, or the secret to controlling the chain with less effort, though that one could probably just be a matter of practice. Either way, the Necronomicon was going to be her guide for now...

As Helena's thoughts turn to demons, she finds a simple spell which, if spoken out loud, should destroy or render impotent any demon hearing it. She becomes vaguely aware that the floor isn't where it's supposed to be, and she's floating in the air.

Helena sprouts her wings to steady her mind, assuming the book was just continuing to warp her view of reality as she discarded the spell outright, She was a demon, Jasmine was a demon, it was fundamentally useless. Rather then disuaded however she searched harder, there had to be something in here! and she'd better find it quick before her mind broke under the strain....

As she searches further, Helena finds a ritual for taking control of those unspeakable monstrosities, so that they might be made to kill their summoners. It seems like it should be safe to use, though it's hard to tell. There's also instructions for making a sign to ward off their influences.

Helena snags that as something potentially useful and slams the book shut, closing her eyes for several minutes before opening them again, hoping the world wasn't still all ass backwards...

When Helena opens her eyes, everything is looking mostly normal, if a little less solid than it should, except for the books.

Helena assumes the odd way of looking at things will wear off, and mentally earmarks the book for later before heading off to find Jasmine, Flying around the sites marked on the map and searching with her mind for her sister.

It doesn't take long for Helena to find Jasmine, who is in a small cafe chatting with some teenagers.

Helena lands discreetly before heading inside and taking a seat next to Jasmine. *How goes it?*

Jasmine seems to be listening the boys to tell her of strange noises they've been hearing lately. "Oh, hello Helena. I think I've found the place." She turns towards the boys again. "Run along now." The boys seem disappointed, but they get up and out.

"There's an abandoned manor where those boys have been playing. Last night they saw a lot of people go there and there were strange lights and noises."
