I came across this today. I honestly can't even remember how or where--lol!

The thing I like about this system is that it is 100% DRM-free. No hidden surprises or gotchas on the system. No anti-codec software(or lack of codec support) to force you to using certain types of media files(looking at Microsoft and Apple here). It is purely Linux.

I hope they can gain a stable base audience. I remember when the PS3 came out. One of the main selling points that Sony advertised was that you could install any type of operating system(like Linux) on there to use extra programs. Then, they handed out a mandatory update that removed that feature. Needless to say, there were quite a few people upset.

Just take a look:

That's actually pretty neat. Though it looks a little bulky, I actually prefer a handheld that isn't going to get destoryed if I accidently sit on it.

I didn't even notice this because it wasn't in the games discussion thread.

this is awesome, gaming was so much better when there were 3 competing consoles.

hahahaha, don't get me wrong I love the franchises they hold, but at this point I'm tired of the whole "motion sensative" controls gimmick.

I'm waiting to see what Nintendo does next before I call it. The motion controls were a..... decent thought, and were their 3rd party rules not as bad as they are, I think it would have gone much better. The 3DS..... never played it, don't intend to. Everyone I know that has one just plays with the 3D off, so the 'gimmick' didn't even fucking work at all.

I do hate them for not giving a lot of good games any localization, though.

the 3d was interesting, but made you sit in a very specific spot in order to see it.

Ah yes, Open Pandora does look awesome, especially for hardcore gamers as it can play pretty much anything for any system perfectly. The only downside is the quite hefty price. Here's a full, thorough review by none other than Dr Stuart Ashens if you need an objective opinion (warning: almost 50 minutes long):
