As Natalie gets to the barracks, Mat and Ingtar greet her from one of the tables, both wearing what appears to be parade uniform and playing cards. There is also the usual mixture of soldiers drinking ale and gambling, as well as just sitting around and talking.

"Hey guys," Natalie said, being neither shy nor particularly exuberant upon seeing the two men she'd had sex with the day before, instead maintaining a fairly somber expression. She sat down at the table, but didn't ask to join in on their game of cards. "Either of you know when the family is expected to be here?" She had guessed that their parade uniforms were on because they were taking part in the funeral.

Mat shrugs as he answers. "They should be here in two hours or so." The men seem fairly somber as well, though Ingtar still starts dealing another round, including Natalie.

"Alright then. You don't mind if I hang around until then, do you?" Natalie smirked as Ingtar dealt her in, picking up the cards and casually lifted them up. She could probably use a nice distraction.

"Not at all." Ingtar answers, starting to teach Natalie how to play a card game they call Koira. It wouldn't take very long to learn, after which the men would keep playing with Natalie until it was time for funeral, unless she has something else in mind.

Natalie took to the game quickly enough, and simply went about playing with it until a short while before the funeral was set to begin. Placing down her cards after a hand, Natalie said; "Thanks for distracting me boys, but I've got to go early. I'll catch up with you two later." She offered the two of them a smile before heading out of the barracks, going straight to the chapel in hopes of seeing the family.

As Natalie gets to the chapel, she can see an old couple talking with the priest.

Natalie pauses and frowns at the sight of the old couple speaking to the priest, and then took in a deep breath in order to steady her nerves. Then, she stepped forward and waited for an opening to speak before saying; "Hello. Are you Jones's parents?"

The man nods somberly. "Who are you, girl?" The woman leans heavily to her husband, looking like she's about to burst into tears again. The priest discreetly moves to the side to give Natalie some privacy.

"I'm Natalie, the count's assistant," Natalie sated, steeling herself. She had a feeling that this wasn't going to go very well, but it was too late to back out now even if she'd really wanted to. Keeping her voice soft and low, Natalie explained; "I... I just want you to know that I'm sorry for your loss. Your son died trying to protect me."

"Oh my god!" the old woman exclaims quietly. Though she still looks sad, there's also quiet determination in her face. "You must feel horrible. I... we need to talk with the priest some more, but it would be nice if you came to pay us a visit the next time you have time off."

That wasn't exactly the reaction she'd been expecting, but it was better than what she'd been dreading by far. Though she couldn't really make a promise out of it, Natalie nodded and replied; "Perhaps I'll take you up on that. I'll let you get back to the priest, I just wanted to offer my condolences in person."

As the couple moves to talk with the priest again, more people start coming in, including apparently all of the soldiers and the count himself.

Soon enough the funeral starts, with the priest making a small speech about how Jones was a caring and good man, followed by some of the soldiers making small speeches and finally the count himself recalling the man's bravery. When neither of the parents rise to speak, the priest comes back and recites a heartfelt blessing, after which the corpse is picked up and carried to the garden, where a grave has been dug among dozens of others, most worn to unreadability over decades. There's a sobering silence as the grave is filled and the count plants a single rose bush on the grave with a sense of ceremony.

Natalie stepped away from the dead man's parents and assumed her proper place as the funeral began. When the time came for giving speeches, Natalie listened to them attentively but didn't take her own chance to speak.

As the count leaves, it would seem that the official part of the funeral is over, though many people are staying near the grave, some of them placing memoraphilia on it.

Having nothing of her own to place, Natalie watches people move by the grave for a while before moving off quietly. She wasn't going anywhere in particular, but found herself heading toward the kitchens anyway. Sighing, she turned and started heading for the tailor, wondering if her dress was ready.

As Natalie makes her way to the tailor's workshop near the kitchens, she can see the tailor and his assitant working on the dress; it's made of dark blue silk and satin with silver decorations along the sides and sleeves and a wide belt of silver and black. "Oh, good day Natalie. Come, try the dress on. We'll have to see how well it fits before finishing it."

"Sure," Natalie said, and quickly pulled her own dress off and set it aside. The symbiote beneath was all she wore beneath, looking at the time like a normal black bra and panties. There was no hint of embarrassment in her stance or expression despite her state of near nudity, and she went about trying on the dress with a detached air.

Jasin pays little attention to Natalie's body, instead fussing about not getting the dress dirty. His assistant gives her an appreciative look, though he doesn't stop to stare, instead focusing on his work. The suit fits quite well, though Jasin hmms and mutters to himself as he marks some spots with needles. It's quite tight at waist but not so that it would require a corset, and it widens at hips and chest quite considerably. The neckline of the dress is quite low, but it covers Natalie's bust if only barely, and her assets are further obscured by a thin silk scarf that covers her all the way to the neck, and would be easily taken off.

Natalie stand under inspection with an air of calm dignity as she tries on the dress, having done this sort of thing before in real life back in high school. Thinking on that caused her to remember that this was only a game, a somewhat jarring thought to be sure, but she pushed it from her mind as quickly as she could. It would be better to enjoy herself in the game than think on it too much.

When they were finished, she admired herself in the mirror for a moment before saying; "It's very nice work Jasin."
