The guards moved slower than Natalie, and the bear took full advantage of that, its tentacles quickly grappling and bludgeoning them and their attacks doing a little to harm it. Soon two of the three guards were all but helpless and even the third was wrestling with several tentacles.

Not that Natalie herself was much more successful: though her strikes definitely hurt the bear, it wasn't giving up and her speed was failing her as several tentacles grabs her, pressing her arms to her sides and making her unable to attack. The tentacles are covered in some sort of slime, and it seems to be afrodisiac, her body slowly starting to react to it. The symbiote's gentle vibrations are definitely helping in there, either.

'God damn it.' Natalie thought as she squirmed in the grasp of the tentacles. The guards hadn't been any help, and though she had been raining blows on it the beast showed no signs of any injuries. Now, she could feel the aphrodisiacs starting to burn through her body, and the tentacles were wrapping around her body more and more as the seconds ticked by. The symbiote had given her speed yes, but now she could barely move, so that wasn't much help now. There was nothing else that she could do but try to squirm her way to freedom.

Even with the help from the symbiote, Natalie can't free herself and manages to find herself more tangled, all but unable to move as the tingling from the aphrodisiac increases slowly.

One of the guards faints and another drops his sword, focusing entirely on trying to escape, but the third manages another slash at the bear, causing blood to trickle through the fur.

Groaning, Natalie suddenly remembered that she was a mage. Electricity lanced across her body, shocking the tentacles holding her and hopefully helping her to escape.

The shock causes the tentacles to loose their grip, allowing her to tear herself free. She can still feel the electricity coursing through her, causing the tentacles that try to grab her to pull away. The last guard isn't so lucky, getting his arms bound.

Natalie recoils away and stumbles as the bear releases her, but then watches as another of the guards is bound up in its tendrils. "Dammit! Why won't you go down?" She spits, and then lunges forward, her hand glowing. This time, her magic took the form of searing flame, and she tried to grab the things head and force both the fire and the electricity still coursing through her into the beasts face.

Though she is still moving almost as quickly as before, the bear seems to be getting better at predicting her actions, as it manages to get a tentacle around her ankle again. The guard who was so successful before bends over and goes limp, his skin growing paler.

Natalie let out a stream of curses as her ankle was grabbed again, and her attack was spoiled. She immediately tried to grab at the tentacle and tear it off before it could get her wrapped up any further.

Natalie manages to almost escape, only to get grabbed again. Using all her strength, Natalie pulls free and stumbles away, only for the bear to follow.

Stumbling aside, Natalie growled under her breath as the bear followed, and rushed back at it. This time, however, instead of directly attacking she suddenly darted around to the side of the monster, trying to force the bulky thing to turn. When it had, she suddenly reversed, punching it in the side of the head and then cartwheeling to the side and getting out of its reach.

As Natalie darts past the bear, it gets up on its backlegs, raising to tower over Natalie, but she has no difficulties avoiding its tentacles this time.

Natalie backed away as the bear reared up, staying well out of reach of the beasts claws. 'Shit... Now what do I do?' She thought, but then smiled as she realized that it had given her a perfect target. It wouldn't even risk hitting the soldiers still in its grasp either.

"Eat it jerk!" She spat, and then called up her magic, sending an orb of flame at the beast's exposed belly.

The fireball tears the beast's throat open, causing it to collapse into a growing puddle of its own blood. The three men are still unconscious and one of them doesn't seem to be breathing. As the symbiote shifts around her, looking like a tight, black catsuit, Natalie notices that the guard from earlier seems to be having seizures of some sort. Several more guards are coming from the gates with the count.

"Dammit." Natalie mutters as she sees one of the guards not breathing, and begins to move towards him just before the symbiote begins to form over her body, finally covering her in a skin tight catsuit. "Cool. I'll be the life of the party now!"

She spots the guard who also possessed a symbiote now convulsing on the ground, and more guards coming out with the count, but for now ignored them. Instead, she flipped the dying man onto his back, taking only a few seconds to extricate the other two from the dead bear, and straddles over him. 'Right. Superhuman strength, gotta be careful. How did the instructor do it again? Oh right, press 5 times and then breath.' Trying her best to measure her strength so as not to harm him further, she began to give the guard CPR.

As Natalie brings her hands to the man's chest, she can feel his broken ribs under the skin. One of them seems to be turned inwards towards his lungs and there's blood on his lips. The count comes quickly, paying little attention to the fallen, instead focusing on the man with a symbiote. Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a vial of green liquid and pours on the symbiote, which melts into a puddle on the ground, revealing the naked man and stopping the seizures, though he still seems unconscious. The other guards are quick to help their companions in arms and the two unconscious guards seem to recover quickly. They spare pitying glances to Natalie, but say nothing.

The count kneels down next to Natalie. "Looks like he's dead. He was a good man."

"Yep." Natalie says, scowling down at the dead man. 'If only I'd been faster.' She thought, and then rose from his body and, without any hint of trouble, lifted the dead man's body. "Will the one who had the symbiote be alright, sir? Would you like me to carry him up to the lab? I can do both if need be, but I'd like to see that this man is at least taken care of properly. He did die in an attempt to defend me." She said, speaking with all due respect. She obviously had other questions, like why he had gone berzerk, but they could wait until later.

"He should be fine. Apparently he had some sort of... allergic reaction to it. Leave him be, it might be for best if you don't touch him." He murmurs a soft prayer to the fallen before continuing. "We will hold a funeral tomorrow. I'll send his lieutenant to notify the relatives."

"Very well sir. I will see this man's body to the morgue until then, unless there's anything else." Natalie replied soberly. The adrenaline rush from combat and the emotional high she'd be running on since acquiring the symbiote were gone now, leaving her with a body to carry and a sense of profound failure. She had to remind herself several times that it was only a game, and that she hadn't gotten anyone killed for real as she picked herself up and carried the dead man off to wherever it was that dead men went in the castle, assuming of course that the count didn't need something else from her.

Afterwards, if nothing else came to demand her attention, she returned to the lab, having nothing else to do.

One of the guards runs ahead of her and when she gets to the chapel, the priest is already waiting and points her towards a marble table in the backroom. "Leave him on the table and we will take care of him, daughter." The priest is an elderly man with a graying hair on his temples and a serene face that now looks somber, clad in black robes.

"Yes father." Natalie replied immediately, and then moved to lay the dead man down onto the place where he pointed. Once he had been dropped off, she turned back to the priest and said; "Will his family be here soon? I..... I might like to see them."
