The dusty desert road had no shade, and the hot sun beat down on the two women relentlessly. The area was relatively barren, but a nearby rocky outcropping might offer them some cover if the two of them wanted to take a rest. They were about halfway to the mine, and had plenty of time to get there, clear it out, and get back to Chander.

Lani blinks several times at her new friends proposal, stunned silent for several minutes. "Y-you'd want to..." Lani's shocked expression quickly turns to joy as she begins to find her voice, a large, ecstatic smile appearing on the young demoness' face. "I would love that very much~!" Releasing her grip on Vanilla's arm Lani throws them around the catgirl's middle, pulling her into a tight embrace, Lani's head inadvertently squishing against the young mage's chest in the process.

The journey down the desert road was largely uneventful, the pair of them thankfully not running into any bandits on their way. Dorvin mine was a ways off the main road, lying on a dirt path that few had traveled since the mine had been closed about twenty years ago. The entrance to the mine was carved into a huge rock formation, but the majority of the old iron mine was deep beneath the earth, some of it no doubt beneath the ground they stood upon as they drew near even.
There was no visible movement within the entrance to the mine, but Vanilla from past experience (and her studies) knew that darkwalkers were generally nocturnal, and as such most of them would be inside at the moment. The mine was pitch black only a short ways in, but continued on straight for as far as Vanilla and Lani could see. How they wanted to enter, and what they intended to do in order to prepare for what would happen inside, was up to them.
As the pair approached the mine, Vanilla stopped and looked around before peering as far into the dark mining tunnel as she could from their currently safe distance, though her own normally sharp night vision was hampered somewhat as her eyes struggled to adjust due to the bright sunlight. She couldn’t see any of the spiders anywhere around outside, but considering their generally nocturnal nature that came as no surprise. What that meant, however, was that most if not all of them were likely deep inside the mine itself. That made things more straightforward, but it also meant less room for them to maneuver and avoid any of the spider’s webbing due to the restrictive nature of the tunnels.
After a moment, Vanilla dispersed the Radiance spell that she had cast on herself for the journey and turned to Lani, a serious expression on her face. “Okay, we’re here,” the catgirl said quietly, not wanting to accidentally alert the spiders to their presence. “The spiders seem to be holed up inside the mining tunnels, so it’ll be very dark and hard to maneuver once we’re inside. I’m going to cast a couple more spells on you to help with that first, then you can...um...summon whatever demons you think might be able to help us fight...” she continued, blushing slightly as she referenced Lani’s demons. “Just...remember to be very careful... Nightwalkers aren’t nice like their fey counterparts. I-If they catch you...they’ll...” she said, trailing off before lightly shaking her head clear of the negative images.
“A-Anyway... Let’s get started...” Vanilla finished, gathering her energy as she had earlier before releasing it and allowing the soft glow to wash over her friend. Once the subtle aura faded, the next time Lani looked at the entrance to the mine or at an otherwise darkened or shaded area, she would suddenly notice that it somehow appeared a bit less dark and more clearly visible to her eyes. “There... Now, you’re turn...” the catgirl said, stepping back slightly and waiting for Lani to do whatever she needed to do to prepare.
While the demon-girl did her thing, Vanilla would turn and gather more of her energy, pausing a moment for extending her hand and conjuring a creature of her own, the swirling flow of natural energy quickly coalescing into the form of a sleek and powerful black panther. The catgirl purred softly and lightly patted the summoned creature on the head, briefly informing it of the task ahead before turning back and watched patiently as her friend finish her own preparations.
Once Lani was done, the young mage would approach her friend again, stopping for a moment to gather another swell of energy. “Alright then, just one more thing...” Vanilla said, pausing to let the energy build before releasing it, allowing the magical aura to envelop the demon-girl. As the energy absorbed into Lani, she would feel a notable increase in her overall physical capabilities, giving the demon-girl the vague sense that she was somehow simply faster, stronger, and more agile and perceptive than before. “There... Now you’re all set!” Vanilla said with a smile.
“Alright, everybody ready?” Vanilla said, pausing briefly for confirmation before continuing. “Let’s go kill some spiders!”

Also, wait for SirOni’s post before advancing into the mine. It will outline whatever demons Lani wants to summon as well as any other preparations she wants to make (obviously), but it will also contain the general battle plan as far as party formation and such is concerned.
Lani stops as Vanilla does, and listens quietly to her explanation of the spiders and how they're most likely deep in the mine. A look of concern comes over the young demon girl's face. She had hoped they'd get to fight the spiders in more open areas, but that doesn't seem to be the case now. "Are you sure you want me to summon demons?" Lani asks, knowing that her friend is afraid of them. "But, if you think it'll help, then okay. And don't worry about me, I've seen our spiders fend off raiders before, I have an idea how these Darkwalkers work." Smiling to reassure Vanilla, Lani lets the catgirl go about her business while she turns her concentration on summoning them some allies.
Focusing her energy, Lani begins to chant a long stream of unheard words, the young girl's eyes begin to glow a brilliant red as a breeze begins to flicker around her. Several moments later forms begin to materialise; first, two small humanoid forms, goblins, quickly followed by taller, more slender feminine forms, sorceress'. Once the summoning has finished and the four demons have fully materialised on this plane Lani turns to Vanilla once more. There, done!" She cheerily confirms, though she a look of surprise appears on Lani's face as the catgirl's spell takes effect. "Woah, what's this?" She asks, flexing her arms. "I feel different... stronger somehow."
"We're ready whenever you are," Lani replies after instructing the demons where their places in the formation will be. "Lets get through this as fast as we can!"

The two of them went about their preparations, conjuring a vast number of allies. The first to appear was Vanilla's panther, who let out a low rumble characteristic of its kind as she purred and patted it on the head. The spirit beast couldn't speak, but it looked up at its summoner with wide golden eyes and awaited her commands. Then came Lani's demons, the first to appear being a wiry goblin who appeared wielding a machete and hopping excitedly from foot to foot. "Grov is ready! Grov eviscerate!" He jumped about excitedly, pausing briefly to sniff at the panther which promptly bapped him lightly with one massive paw, causing him to skitter away while letting out a long string of curses.
Next came another goblin, this one so fat that it looked like it could barely move and holding a club in one slack hand. It had appeared whilst picking its nose, and continued doing so as it glared at Lani for a moment before raising an eyebrow and saying; "Sup. I'm Bub." Next came a sorceress, a thin woman garbed in an elegant dress and with a golden tiara upon her head, holding her blue-green hair in a curled cone over her head. She swept her gaze across the rapidly growing group with her blood red eyes, which finally settled on Vanilla as she adopted a sadistic smile. "Hello Lani~! Have you garnered a treat to share this time?" Vivika, one whom Lani had summoned a few times before, turned back to Lani and bowed. Finally Hilda, the last of Lani's summons and another sorceress, appeared in a simple red dress that barely covered her upper thighs and let ample cleavage show. Bubblegum pink hair fell down in a wild mess from her head, but it turned blue as it passed her shoulders and finally turned green at the tips, which were just above her rounded bottom. "Hi Lani, what are you up to!"
Once the (arguably in the goblin's case) intelligent members of their group had been brought up to speed on the situation, Lani and Vanilla were prepared to depart. And depart they did, with the panther leading the way, Grov darting about excitedly while Bub waddled forth right behind it, followed by Vivika who walked with long, elegant strides, then Lani and Vanilla, and finally Hilda in the rear. They weren't being sneaky by any means, particularly the two goblins who had devolved into banter in their own consonant-heavy language, but with their numbers and Lani's supernaturally enhanced senses they probably didn't need to be. The walls were worked stone and as such remained fairly flat, and the supports seemed to be holding despite the years of neglect, but Vanilla felt herself growing increasingly uncomfortable as they went deeper into the old iron mine.
A short ways down the first tunnel, they reached a fork. The left hand tunnel sloped downwards more gently, but Lani spotted a hint of movement further down it before whatever it was disappeared into the gloom. The right tunnel had a great many scratch marks on the support beams, and went down into the mine a great deal more quickly than the left path, but neither of them could spot anything down there. Their summons, if asked, didn't see anything particularly impressive down either path, though Vivika rather vehemently argued for going left.

As the group makes their way into the mine Lani can't help but smile broadly. Whilst she is happy that Vanilla is by her side the young demoness can't help but feel even happier that two more of her friends decided to show up. Having spent plenty of time with the two sorceress' back at the farm Lani is pleased that it would be them that she'd have to give her energy to, especially Hilda and her curvaceous body. The young demoness holds fond memories regarding her. The two goblins she is unsure of, though they do seem nice enough, and when it comes down to it and if Vanilla wants to help Lani's already decided to take up Bub. While he's more unpleasant out of the two the demon girl would rather satisfy him than put her new friend through that.
Content with allowing the goblins to chitter on amongst themselves Lani focuses on keeping an eye out for danger, her pistols already drawn should something attempt to get the jump on the little group. However, as they come to the fork in the road the young demoness' eyebrows furrow as she catches a glimpse of movement down the left tunnel. "Looks like they may be trying to set us up for an ambush," Lani whispers, her experience in adventuring beginning to kick in. "Not sure how many there are though." The demon girl goes silent for a moment to listen to Vivika's opinions on the matter before turning to the rest of the group. "Do the rest of you want to take the right path?" She asks before casting a nervous glance over at the left tunnel. "We could be walking into another trap though. Those spiders may sneak behind us, and with the goblins and the cat at the front we'd be at a disadvantage."
Vanilla looked a noticeably put-off by the appearance of the goblins, especially the one that referred to himself as ‘Bub’, though she did her best not to show it or be disrespectful. The catgirl’s demeanor seemed to soften at the appearance of the two sorceresses, however, and while she blushed and looked away when the one called Vivika smiled at her, the two women’s apparent familiarity with Lani made her feel considerably more comfortable in their presence.
As the group set off into the mine, the fact that it was an old iron mine became apparent to the young mage, her fey blood causing her to feel a little bit more uncomfortable in general as they went deeper into the mine. It wasn’t the catgirl any real problems, however, so she did her best to shrug it off and continue on. As they came upon the fork in the tunnel, Vanilla listened intently to what Lani had to say, the demon-girl having apparently seen one of the spiders somewhere down the left tunnel. After considering the different slopes of the two tunnels, and listening to Vivika’s arguments to go left while Lani seemed to want to go right, the catgirl spoke up with her own thoughts. “I think we should take the left tunnel...” she began, eyeing it for a moment. “It looks like it descends at a gentler angle, so we’ll be able to retreat more quickly if we need to, as well as keep a better eye out for traps since we won’t have to worry about slipping ourselves... If...you’re worried about them flanking us, I can leave a magical trap or alarm behind us, just in case...”

At this point, Vanilla will begin and maintain a “Defensive Fighting” stance at all times, trading the maximum 20 to-hit for 20 Dodge points. Vanilla will also set a mine behind them once the party starts off down one of the tunnels:

"Well... okay then. Left tunnel it is," Casting another nervous glance at the left tunnel the young demoness waits for the panther and goblins to continue their march before following them onward, readying herself for when the spiders attempt to jump them. While Lani is uncomfortable with the idea of diving head first into the tunnel full of spiders she doesn't voice her worries, content to go along with Vanilla, putting her trust in the catgirl. "And a trap would be a good idea. That way there's less chance of them surprising us."

Upon being asked her opinion, Vivika imperiously replied; "Such base creatures are no match for my magics! Any ambush they still will only result in their incineration! Surely we should follow them to their lair and purge these vile cretins!" After the two declared that they were going down the left tunnel in search of the arachnids, they almost went before Bub suddenly piped up; "Nah, don't go that way." Vivika rounded on the goblin immediately, "And why not?"
Bub glared patiently at the sorceress for a minute before flicking a particularly large booger off into the rocks, and then turned toward Lani and said; "They can understand everything that we say. Darkwalkers are smarter than they look, particularly deathwalker darkwalkers like these. And they know how to deal with mages! They were probably trying to lure you down that tunnel where they have an ambush set up, probably along with some sort of trap that you wouldn't be able to detect until they'd already dropped it on top of you, even with your magic eyes. They can eat magic too, and their webs move on their own sometimes when they're nearby. Very dangerous these sorts of darkwalkers. I worked with 'em a couple times, that's how I know all this!"
Before either Lani or Vanilla could ask the obvious question, it was Vivika who said; "So what do you suggest we do then, simpleton?" Bub promptly replied; "Well, they heard everything I've said. They know they're busted, so they're probably going to try a frontal charge with half of their number while the others retreat deeper into the nest." It was about then that a dozen of the spiders came skittering out of hiding from the tunnel they'd been about to go down, crawling along the walls, floor, and ceiling. Even with their enhanced senses the spiders were barely visible in the dark, but they were close enough for Lani and Vanilla to target without any trouble. The demons among them, naturally able to see in the dark, didn't seem to have much trouble seeing the massive black arachnids either, though golden streaks were visible along their carapaces and their legs were longer than Vanilla remembered them being from the last time she'd seen such a creature. They were certainly nothing like the spiders that Lani had grown up around, that was for sure!
The closest of the spiders was still fifty feet away from the two of them, but were coming closer quickly. They had oriented into their preferred formation when they had decided to go down the left tunnel, with plenty of their summons ahead of Lani and Vanilla. Unfortunately, the cramped tunnels meant that that also meant that those ahead of them would obscure their shots somewhat. The goblins and Vanilla's panther were low enough that such was only an issue if they tried to attack the spiders on the floor, but only one of them would be able to attack the spiders on the walls and ceiling unless they were willing to risk hitting Vivika in the back.

As if on cue, as soon as the goblin Bub and finished his explanation, his words came to fruition as a dozen of the large demonic spiders came scurrying up the tunnel that the group had just decided on taking. “H-Here they come!” Vanilla said, startled slightly at the spiders’ size and numbers...appearing slightly larger even than she remembered from when she’d seen them last.
The young mage frowned slightly as they approached. She hadn’t had time to set any of her Flash Mines yet, so falling back wouldn’t do them much good since there was no trap waiting to lure the spiders into. Simply fighting them seemed like the best option at the moment. “V-Vivika! Hilda! Try and use spells with an effect radius while the spiders are at range! We can take advantage of the tunnel’s close proximity!” the catgirl said, voicing a potential combat strategy to the two sorceresses as she focused her own magic on maintaining the support spells that she’d cast on Lani, as well as keeping up her defensive stance.
The mining tunnels were too narrow for both her and Lani to safely attack without risking hitting Vivika in front of them. As such, Vanilla would bide her time for now until Lani needed to reload her weapons, which would open a window for the young mage to attack with her own offensive spells.
