Re: OOC thread

Most of the bloodlines are really nothing more than cultural variants of the main clan so it's at least something to think about. But I would say a Tzimisce/Tremere combination is the closest approximation. You could also say there's a strong resemblance to the Telyavelic Tremere, a dark ages bloodline from Lithuania. Sielanic thaumaturgy is actually where I found that path I showed you and the other path is where the "ghost" warriors came from, they were also the only Tremere who could learn Koldunic paths in place of normal thaumaturgy.

Re: OOC thread

She's certainly a cultural variant, that's for sure. Probably destined to be a bloodline of one. Until Mithras awakens and kills her (and everyone else).

Re: OOC thread

Strangely enough as monstrous as Mithras' is he was rather civil to his fellow Cainite's. Unless you were Tremere that is then he hated you, and if you were a werewolf her would find you and just murder you. For some reason he really hated lupines and regularly killed them like it was easy. At least canonically speaking he was, he might end up more monstrous in my game.

I guess it probably is pretty easy to murder garou if you have fortitude and presence 9 though. Since that pretty much makes it almost impossible to get hurt.

Re: OOC thread

Yeah and those are just his 2 highest disciplines, though the only actual stat block I have for him is from the Victorian age London by Night so it could technically be a bit lower at this time.

Yeah he hated the Tremere a lot, he even went so far as to secretly support the Tzimisce against Hardestadt and the Fiefs of the Black Cross. So that the Tzimisce could get the chance to finish the Tremere off before they became more than upstarts. Canonically the didn't even get a foothold in England until the Victorian age when Mithras went into deep torpor for a time and Valerius allowed them to build a chantry in London. Which of course lead to Mithras waking up very pissed off and banishing Valerius forever.

Re: OOC thread

Liking Mithras more now. ;) Filthy usurping Tremere.

Though that's all 'canon' and not necessarily what's going on in our game, obviously.

Umm, this is just a meta question and you don't have to answer it if you don't want to, but have Tremere and his buddies drank Saulot yet?

Re: OOC thread

Yeah I kind of like him myself. He's actually a very interesting character if you go through his whole back story. Of which there is a lot since he is or was actually a Mede, the forerunners of the Persians, than there's that whole huge cult thing devoted to him. He is almost literally a god in the game complete with fanatical worshippers.

Though that is of course canonical and I might use some, none, or all of it depending on what works best when it comes up.

I don't mind, I did include that event in the game timeline after all. The Tremere don't diablerize Saulot until the 1136 or 37, so about 30 years from the start of the game. Of course any of the future events are subject to change if you can find a way to influence them. Which could certainly make for an interesting future.

Don't tempt me Frodo...

I'd love to change the Tremere and Tzimisce history, mwahaha. The Tremere and Lasombra become the Sabbat, with Tzimisce and Tzimisce antitribu divided between the Cam and Sabbat. Fufufu.

Re: OOC thread

I think I've actually heard that scenario before, with the Tzimisce and the Tremere changing sides. Though I think there would be far more of a butterfly effect than simply changing 2 clans. Saulot and the Salubri possibly surviving in decent numbers, no blood curse on the Assamite, possible changes of allegiance for other clans, and the crazy changes to real world history because of those changes. I bet Saulot still turns out to be the evil mastermind somehow though.

Re: OOC thread

Yeah it definitely wouldn't be a simple switch. Wouldn't expect it to be.

So is the idea that Saulot is an evil mastermind the reason why the Tremere went after him in the first place? I've never been clear why the Tremere targeted the Salubri for destruction over any of the other clans, nor am I clear how they got away with that. I know they accused them of being soul stealers. But how you can make that stick eludes me.

Re: OOC thread

It is rather confusing and I'm not sure if I understand the theory completely myself. The way I understand it is he somehow actually arranged for Tremere to diablerize him and destroy the other Salubri on purpose. Since he was so powerful he simply won the diablerie so to speak and took over Tremere's body, and I believe Tremere ended up in Goratrix' body.

Basically he was trying to create the perfect clan and he never got it right until the Tremere. In the evil mastermind version he stole his powers from the Kuei jin, created the Baali and the Salubri, had the Salubri destroy the Baali, created the Tremere, and had them destroy the Salubri.

I'm not entirely sure how he convinced the other clans to hunt the Salubri down myself. Other than as you said he convinced them the Salubri were soul stealers. I am pretty sure the Ventrue helped in the hunting down though for probably a shit ton of boons.

Either that or he was really just a goody two shoes and the Tremere have really, really good PR guy's.

Re: OOC thread

If Saulot is a goody two shoes, then he wouldn't have created the Baali, that's for certain.

Also it takes some serious chutzpah to plan on being diablerized. It's not the kind of thing you can just practice to know if it'll work, and you're kinda gambling with your eternal soul.

Re: OOC thread

The goody two shoes Saulot supposedly created the Baali by accident when he tried to punish 3 devil worshippers. And then horrified at what he had unwittingly done convinced his childe, Samiel, to create the warrior caste to destroy the Baali. Much later Adonai, Samiel's childe, joined the Sabbat and created the Salubri antribu.

The evil mastermind Saulot on the other hand did it on purpose. Though to most outside observers it probably looked like the aforementioned accident.

So basically Saulot is either secretly the most devious of the antediluvians, or he's so good that he constantly messes up because he doesn't understand how evil works. I can actually see both being a possibility which is why I like trying to figure it out.

And yes it would take quite a bit of chutzpah to plan your own diablerie, of course Saulot is supposedly the only vampire to ever reach Golconda. So maybe he knows something no one else does.

Re: OOC thread

Well have fun or at least try to have fun depending on what your doing. Assuming my timing is right you might miss a post at most, which I can handle if need be so that Oamp won't have to await your return.

Re: OOC thread

Well if she's actually involved in the conversation we'll probably wait, but Anabelle does have the advantage of not speaking her mind all that often. Unless she is being directly addressed that is.

Could be a good chance for Lexwyn to speak with Jourdain. He could be a rather useful ally for her mission so to speak. Plus out of all the players I think he would get along with Lexwyn the best. If they can both look past their prejudices that is.

Re: OOC thread

Anabelle likes him. And it's military training, so fun... will be found somehow.

I'm okay with her leaning back against the wall, crossing her arms and simply listening. She will be listening though.
