Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James nodded to Suri's thoughts. He stayed quiet though as he tried to drift off to sleep. Alice returned before too long, giving Suri a simple outfit. It was a nice brown, a one piece dress that covered her simply. The arms went down to her wrists, opening up a little and having a small bit of flourish in them. The skirt protion went down to her mid thighs, thigh was matched with some thighhigh stockings and a sturdy pair of boots. Alice smiled and nodded to Suri as she got changed. The outfit fit her well, and was fairly comfortable.

"You two enjoy a rest, the Miss has issues to deal with tonight, but I think she would be glad to help you two in the morning."

After that Suri found it was quite easy to fall to sleep, especially in a nice comfy bed. James looked like all the soreness had finally caught up with him, snoring quite loudly. Regardless she managed to get to sleep, having a peaceful rest.

That was until she woke up, her ears perking at the sound of a crash, much like a window busting. James was still asleep and she could feel a malicious presence in the house.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James went to sleep almost immediately after Suri had finished talking, actually, making her sigh a bit. He had been sleeping off and on for a long time now. Alice returned not long afterwards, handing the catgirl a new, rather simple outfit. It was a brown dress, not exactly her color, but it would do. Not really thinking anything of it, and also not minding showing off her curvy body, she stripped herself right then and there in front of the driver in order to see if it fit properly. And it actually did, as if it had been tailored to fit her, and it was quite comfortable. The dress came down about halfway down her thighs, so pretty revealing, but she didn’t mind that. There was even a pair of stockings that came up to her thighs that matched the ensemble, and a very nice-looking, pragmatic pair of boots, though she didn’t put it on. "Thanks for this, it’s nice. You have a nice night" she replied, waiting for Alice to leave before crawling into bed with James, curling up against him and resting her head against one of the pillows. It was a soft, wonderful bed, and she very quickly went to sleep.

Suri awoke suddenly, though, to a crashing sound. She couldn’t place it, but it sounded like a window somewhere had been smashed. Her ears perked up, and she sat up straight in bed, listening further. Whatever these feline senses of hers were, they could tell that something was very wrong. Something malicious was in the house with them. She bounced out of bed, her tail bushy and straight, in a little bit of a cold sweat. She wasn’t used to these senses yet, so the feeling of dread and foreboding was really quite disturbing to her. She opened the bag they had brought, pulling out her axe, and crouched up to the door, listening still. "James" she said quietly but sharply, "wake up. We have a problem."

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James rolled over, he very clearly did not want to wake up. He muttered something that roughly sounded like 'handle it yourself' or something to that extend as he pulled a pillow over his head. Suri could tell the man was not in any mood to get up.

Her ears already perked and adrenaline rushing, Suri could hear the sound of glass crunching in the hallway, as perhaps a second, possibly third person entered the house, she couldn't be quite sure.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James didn’t seem at all interested in the problem, just rolling over and pulling a pillow over his head as he mumbled. Suri groaned inwardly, figuring she would just have to deal with this herself. There were more people coming into the house, she could hear that much… She decided to wait until the footsteps had passed her door, and then to sneak around and try to find out what was going on.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri listened at the doors, the footsteps didn't seem to be coming past her door. Focusing carefully she could tell they were coming from down the hall, heading in the opposite direction. She hadn't had the chance to explore the villa, but if she remembered right she was fairly certain that was the direction the master bedroom, and thus the room Miss Chey was in, it seemed that whoever was here, was here for the noblegirl.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri listened carefully, and found that the footsteps were getting more and more faint. She breathed a brief sigh of relief, glad that the intruders weren’t coming her way. Though what was in the other direction? She hadn’t exactly been given the full tour, but she thought she had seen the master bedroom over that way. That meant that whoever was in the house was going after Miss Chey, certainly with malicious intent. This doesn’t concern you, just stay here and hold your room she thought, not normally willing to risk life and limb over an NPC. But… she helped us out a lot. And she’s just a little kid, dammit… The catgirl fidgeted uncomfortably, not happy with any of her options here. Well, she’s a big noble, right? If I save her she’ll have to reward me. Big time. Yeah, this could work. We could get escorted out of this damn country her thinking continued, tail twitching behind her. After a few more moments she called out quietly to James "There are people in the house, after Miss Chey. I’m going to go kill them. If you want in on it, feel free to follow" before slipping quietly out the door, creeping towards the footsteps and readying her axe.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James grumbled a bit in his sleep but Suri noticed him react a bit. Apparently he'd heard what she said, but was just too tired to get up. He looked like he was trying, poor thing. Suri made her way out into the hallway. Following the sounds made it easy, and she was careful not to make any noise.

She reached where she thought they should be, creeping carefully, finally spotting the intruders. There were two of them, and it looked like they were armed. It took her a few moments to recognize them, but they passed by a window and she could tell they were the guards from earlier that day. Of course they were, why wouldn't they be? They stopped at a door, whispering between themselves, maybe arguing? It looked like they thought they'd found the right room, she was probably just in time.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

James seemed to be reacting to what Suri had said, but he didn’t seem prepared to do anything about it. The last day or so had just been too hard on him, and he couldn’t find it in himself to get up out of bed. That was fine, the catgirl thought, she’d just have to deal with this herself. And maybe Miss Chey had guards of her own anyway? Whatever the case, she crept her way down the hallway silently, her feline instincts continuing to be a help to her. It wasn’t too awful long before she caught sight of her target; there were two armed men in the home, still making their way farther into the mansion. They passed one last window, and in the moonlight she could just barely make out their faces. It was the guards that had stopped them on the road earlier… The fuck are they doing here? she thought, her tail standing up straight behind her as she clutched her axe tight. Finally they stopped at one particular door, whispering amongst one another… She didn’t know what they were there to do, but she could tell that they held ill intent. It was enough that she felt confident enough of her position to ambush them… She crept a little closer, and then when she judged herself close enough to rush them without any retaliation she bolted at them, swinging her axe at one in such a way as to chop off his head, then screaming intruders! Someone help! at the top of her lungs, to alert the others to the danger.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri landed a harsh blow on one of the men, causing him to stoop lightly. Both seem stunned for a moment as Suri shouts out. She can hear the sounds of movement inside the room, it was likely Chey's room, and from what she heard, Alice was in there too. She hoped James could hear her, but it was impossible to tell, far away as she was. She thought maybe she could rely on him to back her up, but he'd be a bit away at the very least.

A quick look around the hallway revealed it was heavily decorated. Suri didn't have a lot of time to look, but there were plenty of fixtures that could easily be toppled, and a few tapestries which could be used to her advantage, if she was creative. There was of course a window nearby, and the 'out the window' option seemed quite appealing.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri managed to put a pretty good hit on one of the men, but not quite as good as she was hoping for. His head stayed perched on his shoulders, and though the two of them were stunned by the suddenness of the assault they wouldn’t remain so for long. Her shouting seemed to rouse two people inside of the room, probably Alice and Miss Chey, though that probably didn’t help her any. Maybe they had a secret exit from the room or something. As the men regained their composure the catgirl took a brief look around, taking note of her surroundings. "Guards, huh? What are you bastards doing, breaking and entering?" she asked as she formed a plan in her mind. There were rather large windows nearby, and if she timed her strike just right… she would wait until the uninjured one was on the move, and then would charge at him with all the force she could muster, trying to knock him out of the window to the ground below.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri managed to get her charge tactic to work. Her attack knocked the man off his feet as he had been moving around to flank her. He went flying out the window and out of sight. He was probably out. The other many watched, wide eyed. "Holy shit! You bitch! He was my friend!" Suri could be certain that man wouldn't make the same mistake as he moved forward. He brought his sword at her, though she managed to put her axe between the blade and herself. The force of the blow still hurt though, and she knew that she'd taken damage. She coudl hear scuttling sounds inside the room, apparently Alice or Chey was busy with...something.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri waited until just the right moment, managed to time it just right, and hit the uninjured guard hard in the chest with her shoulder, and all of her weight behind the blow. It sent him flying right out of the window, which shattered with quite the impressive noise. The other seemed shocked by it, and shouted that the man had been his friend. Suri could have noted to him that Miss Chey and the others he was about to hurt were friends to someone. Daughters as well. She could have simply noted his profession, and the sorts of things he had doubtlessly done in his career. "Tough shit, dumbass" was what she said instead, readying her axe for his coming counterattack. It was quite the forceful attack, and despite her blocking it with the shaft of her weapon, it still jarred her arms somewhat painfully. Vaguely she wondered just how realistic combat damage from a weapon would be in this game, as she moved her hands towards the bottom of the axe and slung it at him sideways with a loud scream, hoping to either bury it in his side, or at least disarm him using the bit of her axe that curled down.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri swings her ax in a clean arc, the man can only just barely deflecting the blow. Suri's left open as he thrusts. He looks strong and quite unhappy. Both of the fighters were forgoing defense in an attempt to hit their enemy, he had just been a little bit quicker. The thrust catches Suri in the side and she feels it. She thinks the game must be numbing it quite it bit because it felt more like an annoying sting than a cut from a sword. Her dress had protected her a bit by being lose, the man hitting mostly air, so she got off with a nick, it still hurt though.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri's swing was quite powerful, and the man barely managed to keep from being slashed open by the sharp axe. Unfortunately it left her rather open to attack afterwards, and the guard quickly took advantage of her vulnerability, stabbing at her with a quick thrust of his sword. Fortunately the dress she had been given was sort of fluffy and poofy, and so he had stabbed at what he thought was her side, but really turned out to mostly be empty fabric. It still nicked her up pretty good, and there was a sting of pain as if she had been stung by a wasp, though she knew it should have hurt much worse than that. "Alright you bastard" she growled as she pushed away from him, readying her axe, "I bet I can take more of this than you can." With that she swiftly ducked down and took a swipe at his legs before attempting to roll behind a small table that held nicknacks at the side of the hallway, hopefully blocking his next thrust.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri's continued taunting seems to be upsetting the man as he watches her carefully. She finds that her low attack is easily evaded and the man swings his leg up at her before she can roll away. She's kicked hard in the side and spent sprawling into the very table she was planning to use for cover. He growled as he approached her, careful and guarded, he wasn't going to take any chances fighting a crazy girl with an ax. "Just shut you you damn slave. Did your master not train you to be silent?"

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Unfortunately the man wasn’t caught off guard by Suri’s attack, her swing easily jumped. Before she could even react to that he managed to kick her quite hard in the side, causing her to grunt in pain as she rolled in a rather less controlled manner than she had planned for, slamming into the table, which teetered dangerously over her. This fight was going quite badly for her, and she was in danger of losing despite her good start… as the soldier approached her, he growled out that she ought to just be quiet, like her master had doubtlessly taught her. "Nah" she replied, "not towards shits like you!" She tried then to upend the table and roll it at him, hoping to at least get him focused on it while she swung her axe again at his hips. The catgirl wanted to at least get back on her feet so she could fight back properly.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri growled a bit in defiance as the man approached. Before he had a chance to react though, the cat girl had flipped the table into his face. He wasted his time trying to senselessly batter it away, leaving him open as Suri's ax bit into his upper thigh. It was a glancing blow though, and didn't send him tumbling like she would have preferred. And again she had left herself open to a counter attack. The table had fallen now and he brought his sword down at her. She avoided the attack just luckily enough but tripped over one of the topped table toppers, causing her to hit her head as she fell back.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri’s plan worked perfectly, the table slamming into the man’s face and forcing him to waste time and effort knocking it away. It gave her the perfect chance to slice into his leg with her axe, cutting his thigh in a way that seemed quite painful. Unfortunately, though, it wasn’t a terribly deep cut, and didn’t cause nearly the amount of damage she needed it to. The soldier swung his sword at her, and although she managed to dodge it, her sidestep caused her to step on a table topper, probably a vase that she hadn’t seen on the floor, which made her slip and fall. Her head slammed hard against the wall, leaving her feeling woozy, but she quickly jumped up. This was going very badly, and she didn’t think she could take much more of this sort of punishment. She had one final plan, though… The tapestries that covered the wall could be useful to her, she had noted that at the beginning of the fight. She stepped in front of one, waiting for the man, intent on letting him swing that sword of his around until he cut the tapestry while she dodged away, making it fall on him and take away his sight.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri managed to get up before her opponent could take advantage of her grounded nature. Her next plan went into her head, giving her hope that she could finish this battle. The man swung at her again, almost blinded by his rage. Suri managed a dodge, and the tapestry on the wall got utterly tangled. It fell almost instantly on top of him, and the heavy thing simply wouldn't budge. The man thrashed about as he tried to get the thing off, swinging his sword wildly. Suri had to wait and be careful, otherwise her attack might just end up getting herself hit on his flailing sword. He was shouting profanities but they were quite muffled. Suri did eventually get the chance to land a clean hit, causing him to curse even louder as he redoubled his efforts to get the accursed thing off of him.

Though the man was yelling, Suri thought her ears picked up on the sound of someone in the hallways moving towards the battle site.

Re: Suri Dahan (Tiffanian)

Suri’s plan worked out absolutely perfectly, just as she had envisioned it. He swung his sword at her in an easily predictable way, and she ducked and rolled away just in time to avoid being caught up in the tapestry as he cut it and it fell on top of him. He was completely tangled up in the thing, which was quite heavy owing to its size. He just couldn’t get it off him, no matter how hard he thrashed, though it did make it harder for the catgirl to attack him without the danger of being cut herself. Still, she eventually got in a good swipe, cutting him deeper than she had before. It encouraged her, though her ears perked up as she heard someone else walking down the hallway toward them. Could it be James? There was no way of knowing, so she just focused on causing more damage to the guard, hoping to eliminate him as a threat sooner rather than later.
