Re: Chat Based Pathfinder
So, after the first session of the game *cracks knuckles*:
The caravan our intrepid heroes were traveling along with set out and after a week on the road, finally hit the area that had been giving everyone the wiggies. Upon figuring out that they were being stalked, the groups sorceress, Keats, headed out to disuade their would-be pursuers. By dropping giant, poisonous frogs on their heads.
Too late after that, they realized that the ones following them were actually locals that tended to be beneficial to caravans, so the shining knight of the group, Gavriel (formerly known as Xavier), complete with winged roc steed, set out to smooth things over. Which was good, because the caravan master was a bit of a dick.
A round of cards later, where we found out two of the players were cheating (and really didn't care much), we made camp, decided watches, and settled for the evening...
No, it can't be that simple.
Those on watch heard screams from out in the tundra and woke everyone up just in time for us to pile out of our tents, including one half-naked drow sorceress, and see this huge, hulking monstrosity out there, looming in the distance. Intimidation attempts aside, the thing barrels into camp, scattering most of the hired guard and leaving us to deal with it.
Having an ass-kicker in the party is nice. So is flanking. And so are sneak attacks. Remember that, kids. So, after party puts the hurt on this monstrosity and the the barbarian, Byzat, whales on this thing for over 150 points of damage, it decides it's time to get real and just beats the crap out of those surrounding it. It isn't enough, though, because a HASTED POWER ATTACKING ENRAGED BARBARIAN is not something you really want to mess with. Ever. Between Byzat and Gavriel, with assists from Isidien and her sneak attacks and Keats' magic, the thing finally disolves into a puddle of goo. And an evil whispering magic mask.
Most of the mercs have run off, so, apparently, has the caravan leader, so the plan was to look for them once the weather lets up and the group's gotten enough rest.
So, we survived the first fight and haven't killed one another yet. I call that a win!
