Re: Faylin (Farren)

The tentacle attempts to flip the lid, but finds that the clasp has shut firmly and won't budge.

"It's a defensive technique," Abby observed to Faylin. "Like a turtle hiding in its shell. The mimic's outer "chest" is quite durable. It's only when the lid is opened that it's vulnerable to attack."

The fifth chest, a known mimic, refuses to budge despite the shadow tendril's prodding and tugging. The rest of the chests remain immobile as well.

"I could try wedging it open with my knife?" Abby wondered outloud. Fay wasn't sure if it was a suggestion, an offer, or merely a statement of fact, but it seemed that Abby was content to let her make the decision on what to do next.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Faylin frowns a little, deciding that this wasn't getting them anywhere. Though she wasn't too happy to leave the mimic alone they had enough other ones here to be dealing with.

"We'll have my little pet guard that one. Lets see if we can't get a step closer to getting out of here." Faylin suggests, looking around the room before settling her sights on chest three.

"I guess I'll open it from one side and you can save me if it gets a good grip on me hmm?" She offers, moving a little closer to the chosen mimic. Abby had far more knowledge about these things than she did so Fay' would rather put herself in harms way. Of course if her mistress had any objections to that course of action she'd be sure to listen.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

The shadow tendril stands guard around chest five while Fay and Abby gather around chest 3.

"My Fay is such a brave young thing," Abby said playfully before her tone became more serious. "We'll both stand in front of it together, just be ready to strike. if you see slime inside."

Keeping her wand at the ready and her eyes fixed on the chest in front of her, Faylin snaps the lid open. Almost immediately there is a spray of blue coming towards her and Abby, but because the two women were so prepared, the flash of a knife and a blast of a wand are enough to overwhelm the slime inside, the energy bolt splattering the inside of the thing in a gory display of blue ooze.

(Critical hit! Enemy defeated.)

Abby looks at the mimic's remains dismissively. "No priestess in this one. That's two corners down, if Geero was right, it must be either this one here," she pointed towards the first chest, "or that one over there," she indicated the seventh chest.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Faylin nodded and followed along with Abby's advice. The quick victory gave her hope that they wouldn't have to spend too long taking out these mimics if she managed to pick all them before the chests she wanted.

"I wouldn't want my mistress to get sucked into some slime." Fay' comments while debating which to take on next. "At least not when we can't enjoy it together," she teased back, briefly wondering about the possibilities of her shadow tendril after the filling she was given by the darkness.

Keeping her mind on the current situation though, Fay moves towards the first chest, ready to strike it with Abby again. "At least if Geero was wrong it'll take us less time to find the girl."

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Abby seemed to frown. "Are you really that concerned about her, my pet? She could be more a liability than an asset."

The two of them approached the first chest and preparing just as they had previously, Abby took her turn to flip the latch...

Another bout of slime rose up and attempted to launch itself at Fay's mistress, though she nimbly slipped to the side in that same quick manner that had frustrated Faylin the first and only time she had fought Abby.

Faylin in her own turn jolted the mimic with a quick blast from her wand, sending the mimic reeling back into its own chest. The lid shutting back quick as the thing retreated into a defensive mode.

"Hmmm" I suppose that would make this other one the right exit, Abby said moving to the final corner. Faylin widened her eyes when she realized Abby was opening it before she was ready - but all was well. Abby opened the seventh chest and smiled. "Yes, Geero's memory was fine," she said happily. "There's a ladder built into this chest, and there's a hole built through the floor that will take us into the labyrinth below."

Re: Faylin (Farren)

"I'd rather know one way or the other. Worst comes to worst we just shove her back into one," Faylin tries to sound rather nonchalant about the idea of having to deal with the priestess that way. She knew it was possible it might be how it was to play out, though if there was any chance she might be able to help her then she'd like to.

After knocking the new mimic back into a defensive stance she took a moment to breathe. She was quite ready to jump out of her skin though when Abby moved to open the last corner chest before she was ready. Thankfully Geero had come through for them, leaving them with the exit discovered.

"Good, guess we can reward him when we meet up then," Fay' smiles, moving to chest number six. "Hopefully I can find the other one I want a little quicker," she comments, getting ready to open the chest when Abby was ready to help.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Abby smiled coolly. "Yes, I can think of several things you'll do for him as a suitable reward."

She had begun to step down into the exit when Fay walked over to yet another chest. With a soft sigh, Abby stepped back into the room and walked over to Faylin as she prepared to open the sixth chest.

With a snap the latch was opened and the lid tossed back. Before them was indeed a pool of animated blue goo, but writhing within it was also the fleshy, wriggling body of the young priestess. Only her lower half could be seen, and it appeared that the young girl was being taken very hard by the mimic.

A voice hissed at them. "Leeeaavve ussss beeee..... thissss one issss protected. Takeessssss tiiime to iiimpregnaaate..."

Re: Faylin (Farren)

It seemed luck was on Fay's side as opening the chest revealed the captured girl. Now how to free her would be the question. She was a little surprised by the voice, not having heard anything from any of the monsters here thus far. It's words didn't exactly thrill her any, so she simply raised her wand.

"Takes less time for me to fry you, play nice and drop the girl or you can say bye bye to your existence." Fay' wasn't really expecting her demand to get her anywhere, so she was more than ready to simply zap the goo assuming she had a clean shot. She didn't really care for what the thing might want, it was a monster so zapping it would be easy enough unless it made some compelling argument.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

The mimic didn't seem phased by the clear threat in Farren's tone and words.

"Yooouuu killll meee.... yoouuuu killll the giiiirlll...."

In response, it moved the slick, gyrating body of the priestess into clearer view, her arms were held behind her and her breasts were being suckled and toyed with by some animated goop that had enveloped them. All three holes were agape and being deeply penetrated by solidified slime. The priestess' eyes were open, but glazed over in a manner suggesting that she had been fucked silly and into a state of lowered consciousness.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Figures, so much for acting the badass. Fay' had been hoping that wouldn't be the case but she'd not been really all that sure how easy getting out of a mimic was. She wasn't totally sure that killing the creature would hurt the girl but she wasn't about to find out.

"Then are you planning to let her go when you're done?" Fay' tries, not really sure how far she was going to get with diplomacy here. She didn't want to waste time but she didn't want to leave the girl here, even if they parted ways outside. Giving people to the deep queen wasn't exactly on the top of her list right now.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

"Muusst breeeed fiiirrssst... holy powerrrr in thisss one issss stroooong. Taaakkkess time tooo breeeeed. Yooouuuu leave ussss beee... go awaaay. Unless yoouuu taaake her plaaace..."

Abby snorted and then came to Fay's side. "Shooting blanks, huh? What a sad little mimic you are. Know this then. My pet here may care about that girl's life, but I do not." She pulled out her long knife and brandished it near the slime.

"The spiral will feed you other prey if you give them time... but you won't be breeding with anyone ever again if you give me reason to spread your remains all over this chamber, understand?"

The mimic did not respond for a moment at Abby's blunt, intimidating approach, and the lack of any change made Abby flick her wrist and bring the knife deeply across the slime's surface, just barely missing the priestess' flesh.

"Oookaayyy! Eeeenoouugh! Taaake herrr..." the mimic hissed frightfully. The girl was spit up and rolled over the surfaces of the mimic's lid, tumbling to the cold stone chamber floor with an audible splat, the left over muck coating her body and pooling from her orifices. Her body rose and fell with fast paced breathing, though she gave no indication of outer awareness save for a small whine, almost like that of a dog whose toy has been taken away or been denied an expected treat.

Abby looked down at the goo covered priestess with disgust. "Well, now we've got her," she looked at Faylin then with a raised brow.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Faylin stepped back a little as Abby moved in, trusting her mistress' judgement. Even so she couldn't help but flinch when she cut at the mimic, knowing that Abby wasn't fond on wasting her time with this as it was. She was glad to see the more physical threat work out though. Crouching down to try to guide the seemingly out of it priestess to her feet, she looked up at Abby in return.

"Thank you. I know you don't like this. I just want to bring her along until she regains some sense. Then if she won't hear me out we can leave her wherever. I just... didn't want her suffering by my hand." Fay' explains, knowing that all things considered Abby was being very patient with her. She might just be being naive to believe the priestess would want anything to do with her, especially with how she was looking now, but she had to know for herself.

Ordering the shadow tendril to make sure the other alert mimics were covered, Fay' set about either helping or carrying the priestess to the exit as needed. Getting down a ladder with dead weight would be a pain, so she tried to get the girl at least half with it.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

The girl was simply exhausted and any sound she made was incoherent gibberish. Attempting to get her to stand on her own two feet proved to be impossible. The girl's legs simply wouldn't support her own weight.

"The Spiral is as gentle with priestess' of the Goddess as they are when they capture one of our own," Abby said. "I doubt she shall be recovering any time soon. I understand, you are a good person, Fay. That's what makes you such a cutie, but there are some harsh truths you will have to learn. Not everyone can be saved."

With a second glance at the murmuring, well-fucked priestess on the ground, Abby added, "Not everyone should be saved."

Despite her words though, Abby didn't hesitate in helping Faylin lift the girl, and supported her as Fay moved down the ladder. Thankfully, the drop to the level below was not far, and so between the two of them and using the shadow tendril for added support, they were able to get the girl and themselves down the ladder, though the process took a long time.

"I'd imagine that the search for us is already on now," Abby said when the two of them were panting from their exhertion at the base of the ladder. Fingering the lock on her choker, identical in nature to the one that had been placed around Faylin's neck, she frowned. "We need to get these off as soon as possible."

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Faylin nodded to Abby's words, knowing that she was going to have to face that, probably sooner than she wanted to. She wasn't ready to discount trying to get at least some support from the church though, not until she had dealt with one of them herself. If anything the priestess here would be safer than any patrols they might meet. In the event it came down to a fight though, well, she would protect her mistress, simple as that.

After the tiring effort of getting the girl down the ladder with the tendril's help, Fay' looked around, having to wonder about their next move. Again she found herself relying on Abby's knowledge since she really didn't know much about what she had been getting in to.

"Do you know anyone who can remove them? I can't say I know about anything in this city other than the old guy I mentioned earlier. I didn't get very far in my wandering," she smiles a little, trying to lighten the mood a little as she slinked close to Abby. One thing after another, she'd be glad when they had a moment to spare again.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

"Mmm, yes, you mentioned Jerry before, didn't you?" Abby mused. When Fay moved to her side, Abby absent-mindedly placed her hand around the back of Faylin's neck and scratched her softly like she might have scratched a pet kitten. "He's an outcast from the spiral, a former slaver and before that he was a merchant. He's a bit of a tinkerer now, as well as a scavenger. He might be a good place to start. We'll need to head south then through these tunnels, but how quickly we get there will depend a bit on her."

Abby looked down at the priestess.

"I don't suppose there's anything you could do to jolt her awake? I could try slapping her around a bit..." Abby's lips seemed to curl into a playfully sadistic smile as the last thought occurred to her.

While her mistress had been speaking, Fay had taken the time to get her bearings. They were standing at the base of a ladder in the middle of a very long sewer corridor, though the sewers had long stopped working and the air was unclean and the lowered pools of murky water in the center of the corridor were filthy and still. The corriodor went for a decent distance in both directions before coming to a walled junction eventually. There were several branching corridors along the way, and there was seemingly no signs or indicators to guide Fay.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

"I don't think her waking up to a slapping would be a good start," Fay' replies with a smile, leaning down to place a hand on the priestess's side. "I guess we try there first then and see if he might want to help out. He seemed pretty grumpy. I wonder if he'll regret his decision to kick me out." That might be an amusing reunion.

Deciding to work on the task at hand though, Faylin tries to conjure just enough magic together to give the girl a little shock. She isn't really sure if she can be that gentle, though to be fair she'd not had the time to try it out. As much as Faylin was sure Abby would enjoy slapping the priestess silly, her mistress might enjoy what more subtle control of her magic could add to their fun.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Using her wand to charge as small a dose of energy as she dared apply, Faylin brought the tip of her magical device to the skin of the priestess. Her body jerked reflexively as the small jolt dispersed through her, and she let out a sharp gasp, her eyes bulging.

"Ahnnn... nnn....ahh..." Some animation seem to return to her eyes, and they glanced around from Fay to Abby and then to the walls and ceiling about her. No immediate recognition seemed apparent when Fay stared back into the dark brown irises of her former victim.

"Ah, Goddess... protect me," she prayed as she closed her eyes and attempted to move.

Abby rolled her eyes. "I don' think you've been praying loud enough, sweetie..."

Just at that moment, as if the universe itself were in agreement with Abby's assessment, a loud roar echoed down the corridor, as powerful and encompassing as a roll of thunder.

Suddenly, Abby tensed and looked about her. "That's not good," she said, then looked to Fay. "No rest for us yet. The scribe's released the tunneler beast. We need to get topside before it finds us by scent. Quick grab her holiness' shoulder, let's go."

So saying, she hoisted the priestess roughly up by her right shoulder and waited for Faylin to grab the other.

"Whe...where?" the priestess muttered, seemingly coming around, albeit far too slowly for Abby's tastes.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

Faylin quickly moved to help Abby lift the mumbling girl to her feet. She didn't want to find out why Abby wanted them to move quickly if she could avoid it. She ordered the shadow tendril to stick behind them, hopefully keeping it from the priestess' view for the time being. She was going to have enough of a shock as it was probably.

"You're fine for now, but we need to get out of here. I'll explain when we're safe okay, if you could move that'd be a great help." Fay' tried to be soothing and somewhat urgent with her tone. She made sure to keep a good grip on the girl, not wanting her to pull away and run off down here of all places.

"I take it we don't want to fight it?" Fay' asked, not too sure she wanted the answer.

Re: Faylin (Farren)

"Not if we can avoid it," said Abby. "It would be a challenge even if we were well prepared, which we aren't. We need to find an exit immediately. This way!"

Following Abby's lead, the two sloshed down the old sewers, with the exhausted, nude priestess stumbling along between them. She seemed okay enough to support her own weight now, but she simply could not keep up with their desired pace unless she was dragged along.

The roar echoed again, but it was impossible to tell how close their pursuer was to them because of the way the sound reverberated off the walls in the sewers. Fay kept expecting at any moment to be overtaken.

Abby took them confidently in one direction, then quickly diverted off down another main tunnel which they followed for about 100 yards before diverting again, down a third passage.

"We're not too far, it's just -- " Abby stopped mid-sentence and slowed to a halt as she stared ahead. Her mouth twisted in displeasure and she uttered only a single word. "Damn."

Ahead of them near a tall ladder exit was not one, but an entire nest of tentacles swarming about the iron rungs. Though it appeared that the three girls had yet to be discovered, there was absolutely no way they would be able to sneak past the nest without fighting, and there were a lot of thick, slimy tentacles to overcome.

"We can either fight our way through these quickly or we can try to back track and hope to out run the tunneler to the next exit," Abby said, looking to Fay.

"I-- I can help..." the woozy priestess muttered. "If-if we fight."

Re: Faylin (Farren)

From bad to worse... if it catches us while we are still fighting these... Faylin shook her head, not about to entertain that notion. There was no guarantee the other exit was any better than this one and if the beast was closing in on them then they might find themselves with even less time to fight monsters. She didn't know enough to make an informed decision, something she was finding herself hating about this.

"We fight now, we don't know if the next exit is clear and if that thing is tracking us..." Fay' readied her wand, motioning for her tendril to move up to her.

"If we can lure them off I can pin them down hopefully. It might mean we can escape faster." She suggests, hoping she is making a good call.

"Anything you can do would be appreciated." Fay' tells the priestess, hoping she wasn't only agreeing because she was still mostly out of it.
