Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

"H-hey!" Jonathan's face went pale as he looked at Emily. "I can still be splashed all over the place, and that's bad. I once failed to retrieve my hand after a test of my durability, and had to wait several hours inside my closet before it regenerated." He calmed down after a moment, letting out a sigh as his face returned to normal. "As for your question... Yeah, it's light in general. Altough artificial light doesn't affect me as much as the sun. If the source is weak enough, I can resist the influence."

Emily looks at Jonathan for a moment as he explains before stifling a laugh that is loud enough for anyone near them to hear at the thought of him locked in a closet waiting for his hand to reform. "Well that doesn't sound too bad a limitation then, lights can be easily destroyed or put out." Emily says once she finally stops herself laughing completely.

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

"I guess. It's manageable when you remember about it..." Jonathan sighed. "However... If I'm not careful, or if the light is strong enough... It hurts me when I transform. With sunlight, it takes a while for the effect to set in, but it's very painful when it does. Physically and mentally. Even in human form, I don't like light as much as I did when I was younger." He shrugged, glancing up for a moment. "Maybe I'll learn to tolerate light one day, maybe I'll have to change my life. I wish I knew how my ability is going to develop."

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

A quiet humming noise comes from the front for a while, as Harrel slows a moment. Looking distantly at nothing in particular, he takes another slow step, not too unlike a dog stopping to sniff something. "Bingo!" He exclaims with a sound of satisfaction, though not too loudly so draw any potential attention to the group. "I've got him. Not too far now. Seems to have stopped for the most part."

"What about Isabella?" asked immediately as Grace steps over.

"I'm not sure yet. The forests making it harder to pick anything up clearly. Don't worry, I'm probably just a little out of range for her still."

Ellisia has a look of thought as they all continue onwards, then turning to Jonathan. "Jonathan. If I may ask, your dark form. How viable is it in this amount of light and shadow? How well can you see and hear during its use?"

"Well you've got all of us here at the moment so we can look out for you, and not knowing how it'll develop should be one of the better things about your powers. You could get some super powerful form eventually." Emily says, trying to console Jonathan. At the mention of him not liking light even in his human form Emily reduces the fireball she had created so that it wasn't as bright but still strong enough for everyone to see clearly. "At least you can still fight in light. If there's a heavy rainstorm I can't take the risk of being in it."

Jonathan glanced at Emily when she consoled him. "Thanks... Maybe you'll find a way to deal with your weakness too. As unlikely as it seemed to me, this school might actually be the best place for that..."

He paused for a moment when Ellisia spoke to him. Looking up at the sky, then at the shadows around, he tried to estimate how much time he had. "It'll be kinda exhausting, but in this kind of cover, I could go on for quite a while. Possibly long enough to cover a considerable distance. As for my senses... Well, I don't quite understand it myself. As far as hearing goes, I've noticed no problems. Sight, on the other hand..."

Jonathan scratched his head. "It's hard to explain. I don't have any eyes, but I can sort of... Percieve the levels of light and darkness around me. The end effect is pretty much the same, but it feels weird. At least until you get used to it."

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

Jackson kept scanning the path for anything at all. He was looking for other shoe prints or bent grass to give away if there was anyone else with the man they wore hunting now. The only problem Jack has was, he was unable to tell the difference between animal path and path made by a person through grass.

A sudden ring began to ring in the back off his head. He gripped the back left side of his head at first. It didn't hurt but was annoying but it quickly went silent. If he was one to believe old wives tales, it would mean someone was talking or thinking about him. As Harrel said he had the target in range, Jack began to smile.

"Let us know it you... sense anyone else." He said quietly before looking for side paths himself or Siphon could use to circle around the target and cut off a path for escape.

"That would be nice, but nope, I'll never be able to interact with water like other people..." Emily explains then lets out a sigh. "It doesn't really bother me all that much, but it does make bathing extremely awkward and time consuming."

As Harrel says he's found the location of the man they're searching for Emily decreases the size of her fireball even more, trying to not give their location away if the man had been expecting pursuers.

Sho's been moving along, trying to be as quiet as she could, mostly following in the footsteps of the others, so as not to side-step and accidentally crack a twig or something. She stills when Harrel does, glancing around. Listening to the others formulate their plan, she frowns a little. "Shouldn't Isabella be with him, though?" she remarks. "Or does he kind of...drown out everything around him? If another undead crossed paths, what's to say our friend here didn't dump her on the newcomer?" She makes a point to look at Siphon. "Given that Isabella is our top priority here."

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

"This guy is just a bit easier to spot this way than Isabella. Has a distinctive signature. I should be able to pick her up soon I'm hoping. Are there any signs of another crossing or breaking off?" He explains and enquires whilst continuing on following his lead.

Ellisia watches the terrain around them carefully. Whilst Harrel should be able to easily spot anything coming toward them, it paid to be well aware. Especially with talk of undead, which were far from conventional foes. "I'm trying to figure out or options. Particularly concerning scouting right now. Unfortunately we're rather limited on communication or signalling methods."

(I'm thinking push it forward half an hour or so, that they would be reaching the perimeter of this location? Will need description from Oni/Siphon, possibly including if there's anything else Harrel would notice.)

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

((I'll talk to Oni later on about a description for the place, was his idea for the actual base of operations our enemy has, I just supplied the guy, and his goals and such.))

Siphon was quiet for several moments, as he seemed to be sensing something for something the others couldn't even begin to try for. Finally he shook his head.

"There's nothing to suggest that he gave her up anywhere along the line. His trail continues to be right on top of her's. I think your right Harrel, something about him makes his ... aura I guess you could say, something about him makes that stand out much more vividly than hers. It actually damn near overshadows her completely. Blood scent is fading just a bit too, but not because of loss, seems more like perhaps ... wait a second."

He bent down to investigate a disturbed part of the ground, staying there for a few moments, longer than he had when first picking up the foot trails. Finally, he slowly rose.

"Alright, from the looks of things, I'm thinking they stopped here briefly a fair time ago. My guess is he did something to stem her bleeding and stop it, because there's a strong scent here that begins to fade almost immediately as we continue moving. Not sure why he'd do that if he injured her badly to begin with, thought it reinforces my belief that there's something he has planned that requires her to be alive."

Hearing Siphon talk about Isabella bleeding again, even if it was potentially good news, made Grace's blood boil. A look of hatred coming across her. "If that son of a bitch has harmed... has done anyth... grrrr..." growling angrily in frustration, not finishing her sentence due to knowing that he already had. "I'm going to fucking destroy the bastard."

Ellisia looks to her room mate in concern, mildly surprised about how Grace was reacting to all this. "Grace, you need to keep a cool head during this if we're going to be able to save her or confront this man safely. Are you still ok to continue?"

"I uh... it's fine, I'm ok."
She replies with a fleeting guilty look, and recomposing herself to a more subdued frustration, "I want to help and I can stay focused. Let's not slow down please, we're nearly there."

((I'll PM you the description of the base as well as one or two other things later on before I head to bed))

"Well I could send out a flare if I'm sent with someone else to go scouting. And I'm pretty fast too so you woudn't have to worry about me being captured," Emily says aloud as Ellisia mentions her concerns with scouting.

"I've never seen anyone get this angry over a friend being kidnapped before," Emily whispers to Jonathan as she leans next to him.

"And I've never seen anyone who had a friend kidnapped..." Jonathan whispered back to Emily. He had been paying attention to the conversation, seeing as there wasn't much for him to do. "They must be pretty damn close. I just hope she can stay calm. The bastard we're tracking seems to be the type that might enjoy mind games, if the descriptions were accurate. Kinda makes me wonder what's his goal." He paused for a moment before speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. "I can go with Emily. I know how to move quickly without being seen or heard."

"...True, neither have I. Maybe you're right," Emily replies after a moments pause.

"Well now that's settled which direction do you want us to go?" Emily ask's as if the decision had already been finalised.

Siphon seemed about to say something to Emily, then slowly nodded, as if something had just occurred to him.

"I was going to say I should go, but no, it may be better if anyone IS spotted that it isn't me. We want to keep some elements of surprise around just in case. A word of advice though. If anything that looks like red globs of energy start flying near you, get the hell out of there and don't let it touch any of your body, unless you want it vaporized."

"Right, so what do you want us to do? Search for where this kidnapper has hidden himself and then send out a signal, or what?" Emily asks both Ellisia and Siphon, her fireball now fully died out and her hands planted at her hips.

"Hmm. If you do that you could be putting yourself in considerable danger until the rest of us reach you. I'm thinking it would be better to rejoin us with any information gathered, and only send the signal if discovered first, or if you believe we need to come in immediately for any reason concerning Isabella or anything else." Ellisia replies, then looking to the others for any thoughts.

"You should know at least some of what I'm capable of, so relax I can handle myself," Emily explains to Ellisia, a wide grin spread across her face. "Besides, Jonathan is coming along too so we can watch each others backs."

Re: Mainland (Rescue Isabella Event)

"And I know how to hide." Jonathan stretched, the barely audible sound of cracking joints accompanying his every move. "I'm gonna watch out for both of us, don't worry." He didn't mention what he thought about Siphon's warning. Honestly, he believed he was better off without it. Touching mysterious globs of energy? Seriously, even cartoons could teach you that this was a bad idea. Talking so calmly about such a threat made Jonathan somewhat uneasy.
