"In such a case that an event is becoming more uncomfortable than a player can absolutely stand, the game will force quit. However, we have found though lots of testing, that it is very hard, and extremely unlikely for an event to get so uncomfortable that the game would force quit. It's hard to explain, since it's not the same as merely being uncomfortable and wanting it to stop. But I can assure you that the system has been tested, and does work in the situation that a player literally can't stand any more. The game measures many things of the player, and through that, knows the difference between a real emergency and a perceived emergency."

He gives a smart nod. "As for 'real personalties', currently a couple dozen, we're always working on adding more. And for the AI, well, somewhat, but it also draws visuals, audio, and other such senses from a player. It's very hard to explain fully, Ms. Love-Cross"

"I see," Synthia said, somewhat satisfied. "Well, I would say the experience was overall enjoyable, it seemed to get much better as it went forward. Maybe that was the game adapting to my own preferences... Did you have any questions for me? I am after all testing it for you, I'm sure there must be something you're still working on, given all the grayed out selections at the beginning."

Idly Synthia was starting to find her thoughts straying to fantasized visions of Gerald and other figures tying her up and abusing her in various ways - and she was struggling to focus on everything that Max was saying.

How soon can I hook myself back up to that thing? she wondered.

Max nodded his head as he looked down to his sheet. "Um, alright. These are pretty standard questions, but if you don't wish to answer, that's fine."

He started to rattle off a list of questions. Asking to rate her overall experience, to recall best and worst parts, if she encountered any bugs, and a set of other questions along those lines.

He finished up. "Well, you were in there for a while, I'm sure your hungry, why don't you head over to our Cafe and grab some food. Oh, and then if you wouldn't mind, could you stop by the nurses office? After that, there's a good chance you'll be able to test more, if you wish."

Nodding her thanks, she left Max after answering his questions as diplomatically and tastefully as she could. She headed over to the cafe to get a quick lunch, nothing too fancy. She wondered how many other testers there were here today.

Eating quickly she made for the nurses office, wondering exactly what they would be checking up on. After all, she had felt down there when she first woke up from the EGG and nothing seemed amiss. It was all in her head, right?

She felt like she was back in primary school as she wandered down the hallway after lunch, looking for signs directing her to the nurses' office. Finally she found it and rapt at the door.

"Hi, I'm Synthia," she introduced herself. "The AI programmer told me I should see you?"

An attractive woman opened the door, smiling, with waist long black hair, and a pair of glasses perching on her small nose. "Ah yes, you just left the EGG, right? Please, come on it."

Syn enters and politely closes the door behind her. Her eyes linger on the nurse's attractive figure and smirks to herself as she wonders what kind of adventures this nurse might have inside the EGG.

I wonder if there's a multiplayer function? I wouldn't mind exploring with her in a nice skimpy outfit. I wonder if Gerald could handle two women at the same time?

Brushing her mind out of its momentary gutter, Synthia takes a seat and waits to see what sort of examination she would be given.

The nurse leads Synthia to a chair, with an instrument at head level. "We just want to make sure that the EGG hasn't adversely affected you. Please have a seat and we'll run the scan. During that time, I'll ask you a few questions, alright?"

"Ask away," Synthia said as she let the nurse guide her in how to sit.

She smiles gently, starting the scan as she asks.

"Now, I know that you might not want to answer some of these, but I assure you that anything you say here is in the strictest privacy, and will never leave this room." She clears her through as she starts.

"First off, I'd like you to describe your feelings as the game progressing, and how they changed, including what changed them and...how, it changed them"

Synthia thought a bit, and then said:

"I would say at first I was curious and pretty light hearted, then when I felt like I was immersed in combat there was an initial surge of adrenaline and panic, mixed with excitement. A little exultation when I was victorious, and then surprise at my first... intimate exchange... though it was very arousing and... pleasant." Synthia couldn't help but eye the nurse to see how she was reacting to her account.

"Then there was my first defeat and non-consenting exchange... and that was very painful and panic enducing. I remember not feeling good even when I was... you know... feeling good. But things got better after that, and as I kept on having better exchanges, I think back to that one bad experience and I... I think under the right conditions, I wouldn't be opposed to having it again. If - if you know what I mean."

Synthia half-laughed and looked down, twiddling her thumbs idly. If this nurse did know even half of what Synthia might have gone through, no matter how professional she may be, there was a certain amount of embarrassment that the young writer couldn't help but show in her rosy cheeks.

The nurse nods, looking very understanding through all she says. "I see. Do you think you've majorly changed because of your experiences?"

The nurse waits for her answer and turns back to the machine, as it's finished it's scan. "Well, the results are in, want to hear?"

"Major change? ...no, but I might say that a dormant part of my personality might have blossomed to the surface," she gives an embarrassed laugh, and fidgets with the hem of her skirt.

"Results? Yes, let's hear the news. Tell me it to me straight, doc."

She nods. "Well, it's pretty normal, at least for anyone coming out of the EGG after their first time. You brain patterns show a definite increase in sexual activity and a decrease in inhibitions. But over time this tends to revert back to normal, even with game sessions."

She gives a faint smile. "Pretty much everyone coming out says that. So, don't worry too much, you'll learn what you really like and don't as you continue to play. So, you're all set to return if you want."

"You sound like you've seen a lot of testers. Have you ever tried the EGG yourself?" Synthia asked, curious to know more about this woman, and feeling that any suggestive talk could be blamed on her 'lowered inhibitions.' She was feeling frisky and adventurous - and experimental.

"Well, yes, I try to see every tester that comes through, and I've been inside a few times myself." the nurse gives a small smile. "Though work comes first, so it's not a whole lot of time." Putting a small stamp on a form, she helped Synthia up from the machine.

"Anyways, unless you have any questions for me, you're all set. Oh, if you're planning on going back in right now, could you stop by Max's office?" She gives her a short set of directions.

Synthia smiles and nods her head. "Yes, I understand. This job probably keeps you quite busy. I suppose I will see you later after the next session is over. It was nice to meet you, nurse..."

After getting the nurse's name (or not), Synthia follows the directions back to Max's office. She thought it was just as well, because she had been meaning to ask him about the multiplayer idea that had come to her when she had met the nurse.

Knocking softly on the door, she opened it a little and called out. "Um hi, Max? Are you in here? It's me Synthia. The Nurse said I should come and see you before going back into the EGG and I had been meaning to ask you about the program's multiplayer capabilities..."

"Alice" The nurse gives her name, giving a smile to Synthia as she leaves.

Following the short walk to Max's office, she heard a simple "Come in" after her first rapt on the door.

"Ah yes, I just wanted to inform you that I've been set as your EGG testing advisor, this means that anytime you have a question or anything, you can come to me to inform me."

"Ah, multiplayer capabilities? Why the sudden interest?" Although entirely possible to ask in a certain way, it seems the man took his job seriously, holding his voice to his calm standard, and only having the gentle smile cross his face.

"Sudden interest?" Synthia considered her answer. "I don't know, I guess it just occurred to me... This is program is being marketed as a virtual game, and therefore a multi-player option naturally follows. There'd be public demand for it. Anything from couples wishing to experience the virtual world together to complete strangers wishing to express themselves while covered by the blanket of anonymity. I would assume the possibility has been discussed by your programming team, but are play testers involved in that process yet? And if it is possible and you could link multiple players into one environment, would players be able to port NPCs from their own single player experiences into the joined game?"

Max listens quietly throughout Synthia's entire discussion of multiplayer. After she's finished, he sits thoughtfully for a few moments before replying.

"I'm afraid I can't quite answer all your questions at the moment." He starts. "The best I can do is assure you that a multiplayer is being worked on, however, details I am unable to explain. I'm sure you understand." He finishes.

"Though for the last question, I think I can answer that one. Probably."

"I suppose I'll have to wait then," Synthia says, feeling that her line of reasoning was a bit unfulfilled. "Well, then I guess I'm happy to resume my game for the time being. Anything you wanted to inform me of before I go back in?"
