Still, for them to fail to capture the abnormal before it went on a rampage... They couldn't have been so unprepared, could they? Something was off. "I know a place where you can go. There are humans there, but they aren't like those here - they made that place for those who aren't human. You can hide there if you want to."

"Guess it's worth checking out..." Max sighs, disinterest in his voice. "Not like I've got much to do anyway. Seeya." Sliding his hands into his pockets Max sets off at a slow pace, not actively seeking out the mermaid though if he comes across her he'll probably pop in just to see if she looks like how the myths and legends have portrayed them as.

"Well, if he seemed concerned and the like I highly doubt he'd try anything funny, especially if he's been keeping an eye on the Cabal. Damn, looks like we'll be taking a rather long trip when John gets back. If your interested Zaleia, I might actually have something you could do that would ... broaden your horizons a bit if you will. If your interested that is."
Chris merely raised an eyebrow, knowing he was probably going to be 'asked' to go along with her given he'd dealt with her more than anyone here.
The large creature seemed to stare a long moment at Przemek before saying anything.
"Friends of yours? Would not be place called Sanctuary run by a Magnusssss would it?"
As Max walked, he found himself entering the very area the Mermaid was living in. She was already talking to someone it seemed, but she was ... well, incredible didn't begin to describe it.
She had orange colored hair, and quite human seeming features. In fact, if it hadn't been for the tail fin where her legs would have split outward to become leg and feet, she could have passed off for a rather attractive human woman. While her flesh was a bit more pale, it wasn't unsightly. However the fin parts were a type of seaweed green in color, which gave away her species easily enough.
Sally thought a moment then answered.
"Well, I know the folks who run this place quite well. If not for them I wouldn't even be alive today. I know a few of the abnormals around here as well, enough to tell you if a small male pixie comes by you, be prepared for him to start flirting with you. He flirts with anything that's female and human looking."

The creature regarded the ghoul for a moment before answering.
"Friends told me of such place, safe haven for others. Have sent many there to seek refuge, some did not make it. Did not go myself because too large, would destroy such place. Made home beneath streets, keep low profile yes? But lately many strange things happen near home, gasses that shouldn't be there, bodies left behind that appear from nowhere. Then today, gas of pain come. Drive me from home and abroad."
He patted his chest then spoke softer.
"Believe someone wish to force me to cause harm to innocents. Would rather die than do so. Cannot return home, cannot go to Sanctuary because of size. What can be done?"
Helen shook her head.
"Actually I was planning on sending Chris along with someone else to Bermuda. Sally's been pestering me to send someone there, says she's picked up some kind of disturbance, but we've been spread to thin to go there. I was hoping perhaps you'd like to accompany him down there. It would be warm and nice this time of year, and you might even have some time to relax if your real lucky.
"Your Welc ..."
Sally cut off as a sudden look of terror crossed her face, and she darted back into the depths of her tank. Moments later, what followed passed throughout the entire Sanctuary as a vision of sorts, leaving no doubt as to why Sally had fled in fear.
A sudden vivid flash of ocean was seen in the minds of everyone there, followed by thousands upon thousands of screams, so sharp and loud some might think that it was real for a moment. The screams continued, as the water image was replaced by the sight of something being shredded apart limb by limb, as the water filled with blood. This continued on for several moments before suddenly the screaming face of a dying creature resembling a female mermaid seemed to be thrust right into the faces of everyone. With one final scream from her severed head, the vision abruptly ended.
Chris, who had been standing right next to Zaleia when this happened, staggered and grunted in surprise as his hands came up into a combative gesture.
"What in the HELL was that?"

Fortunately, it seemed that the organization had a good opinion. Still, there was a problem that required solving - a big one. "Those who attacked you... This might have been Cabal. Those guys are bloody lunatics... They abduct or kill any being that catches their attention. They probably intended to either capture you or create a diversion. Either way, I think we should at least inform the Sanctuary. There are a few big creatures living there already, and even if we don't have a solution now, we can find it together. Plus, if you're targeted, you might need help fending the Cabal off."

"S-Sally, if you can hear me, can ya figure out where that w-was? I promise ya if that was the Cabal's doing they're gonna regret it..."

Mik'ti'kalik dropped her book and clutched her head when the vision came, writhing on the ground. As Mik'ti'kalik left, she nearly ran into Henry, who had to dodge to avoid her.
"Whoa! I take it you saw that too?"
Helen seemed visibly shaken as she replied to Zaleia.
"Dear god. Only Sally could project like that, something's happened. Chris can you ..."
She was cut off as he nodded, pushing a button on his wrist device, then placing a hand on their shoulders, and they suddenly were standing in the room with Sally's tank.
Spotting Sarah, Chris raised an eyebrow, noticing that she was trying to talk to Sally it seemed.
"Ok folks, wait here. I'll be back in a few. I hope."
Before Helen or anyone could reply, he took a step, then vanished in the same flicker of red, almost mist that he had brought the others in with. He reappeared a few moments later, now inside the tank, then darted off in a swimming motion. It might occur to everyone that he hadn't stopped to take a breath to hold it, which should be a concern, though Helen didn't seem worried about that, only what might be going on with Sally.

Altough human-like abnormals who worked as operatives were allowed to go outside, they absolutely had to carry some kind of communication device in case of an emergency - cellphones were the usual choice in case of a simple walk. He briefly wondered who to call. Dr. Magnus was on a trip and he had no idea whether she was back on site or not... However, Henry should be available. Przemek quickly selected his number.
