ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

My IP changed. I'm going to call my ISP in the morning and request a static IP. I'll send the new address out via PM again. PM me if you didn't get it (and would like it if you never got it in the first place).

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Is anyone else having trouble getting Minecraft to connect online? Whenever I log in it keeps telling me there's an error when it tries to connect to minecraft.net and asks me if I want to play offline or try again. I've tried restarting my internet connection and restarting my computer but they haven't sorted it out.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

All of the servers, apparently. D: Your compy should be fine, I've been playing it offline today.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Man, me and two other guys took over a row at the computer lab today to play minecraft, and was like "oh, its down, damn..."

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Well that sucks balls, but at least I know what the problem is now and don't have to worry about it being my laptop. Dunno why anyone would want to DDoS Minecraft though.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Easy, the same sort of people who get a thrill from damaging or defacing anything popular.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Thats the thing, 4chan creams their collective pants over Minecraft, so I doubt it would be them. Maybe it's just some jealous faggots who don't think Notch deserves the money and fame.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Okay, I can connect to Minecraft.net now but I can't connect to the ULMF server.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Yah... my IP address changed AGAIN! Stupid ISP. If this it what it's normally like, I'm very suprised my earlier IP lasted as long as it did.

And yep, I'll send a PM your way LDF.

Edit: PMs sent. In most cases I left the port address off the end (the :xxxxx part), that doesn't change.

Heh, the's the part I memorized. I was close to trying to go for the IP, glad I didn't.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

I did actually memorise the first IP, mostly because I had to put it in so many times because I kept disconnecting.

Sweet. Time to destroy shit.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

I'm not sure whether its a bug or not but if you use an axe with the Leaf Blower rune enchanted on it on a block of dirt it will till it to become a field block and plant seeds in it.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Whenever it's not down. Which it is now because my IP changed AGAIN! But it didn't change that much. Add 23 to the third number and subtract 38 from the fourth number.

Update on the static IP: Not likly to happen. I'd need to get a business account with my ISP, which costs a lot more, and I wouldn't get to keep my TV service. I'd like to make a group (anyone remember those?) for this, but only if I can be sure that only members of the group can see the posts, I can then update the IP there easily without having to send out a bunch of PMs.

Edit: There were a few other things on my end that were also preventing logins. Everything should be working now.

I'm still considering shelling out the money for the static IP...

Edit part 2: Actually, I think I may be able to set the server up to use DDNS to map a name to my changing IP address. This will also require talking with my ISP, but should be much cheaper. Need to wait until monday for that though.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Thats a pretty cool video, I like the use of the boosters though I haven't really experimented with minecarts all that much yet.

Also, am I the only one not able to connect to the server?

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server

Yeah, forget everything you saw here, my IP changed again. What I'd like to do is actually shut the server down until I can have a reliable connection or a way to notify large numbers of people about IP changes (a PM can only have 5 recipiants) without having to worry about people I don't want being able to see my IP address.

I will keep it up though, if people want.

Rough idea of how long it might take to get a stable connection: By saturday I'll have an idea of what I'll need to make this work, and can update the timeline then.
