Pokemon Teams

I've been playing Pokemon Soul Silver for a while now and I've decided to make type-specific teams, kind of like how each of the Gyms have been set up. What I want to know is what Pokemon people would suggest (in b4 Mudkipz, Seaking fuch yeah! and Slowpoke) as well as what move's/EV's/role in battle etc... Make this a Pokemon general thread as well.

Anyway, at the moment this is what I've got;

Magmortar (Special Sweeper)
Psychic, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Thunderbolt

Breloom (Physical Sweeper, with the Poison Heal special ability and equiped with a Toxic Orb)
Facade, Brick Break, Thunderpunch, Seed Bomb

Gengar (Special Sweeper, not finished training yet)
Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Hypnosis, Dream Eater (I was thinking about switching Hypnosis and Dream Eater for Psychic and Energy Ball or perhaps give him Toxic)

Absol (Physical Sweeper, with the Super Lucky special ability and equiped with Scope Lens)
Slash, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Shadow Claw

Thats who I've got trained up at the moment, I was thinking about training up a Carnivine though I dont know how good they'd be.

I have a couple on my team that I'll share.

Flygon (Physical, holds Muscle Band)

Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Crunch
Thunderpunch

Mismagius (Special, holds Wise Glasses)

Thunderbolt
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Energy Ball

Scizor (Physical, holds Muscle Band and has Technician ability)

Wing Attack
X-Scissor
Metal Claw (Will be replaced with Iron Head)
Night Slash (Will be replaced with ???)

In case anyone doesn't know, Technician powers up any move with a power of 60 or lower by 1.5 times. (Wing Attack goes from being 60 to 90, Metal Claw from 50 to 75) A fun thing is that if Scizor goes back to knowing Pursuit, the base damage will increase from 40 to 60, and thus if a Pokemon flees or switches out, the movie will have a power of 120 damage.

Thats a pretty awesome special ability, I may have to go back and breed my Scyther to get it. Back on Platinum I pretty much one shot'd the Elite Four with my Breloom and Facade. Facade has a power of 70, coupled with Breloom being poisoned (because of Poison Heal Breloom is healed every turn) it has its power doubled effectively making Facade have a power of 140.

I'm thinking about making a Tank Shuckle, its max def and sp.def is 614 and giving it the moves Toxic, Gastro Acid, Sandstorm and some attack that it can use to actually defend itself with the Sturdy ability. And having a Gardevoir with Attract, Wil-o-Wisp/Thunder Wave, Confuse Ray and Psychic. Probably make Gardevoir female too. Paralyse and Attract would mean the opponent wont get much chance to attack and even if they do manage to somehow fail to stop the opponent from attacking the confuse status will hopefully stop them from attacking.

Last game I played was Pokemanz yellow. Are any of the newer versions worth it? Do they have anything different that would make it fun to play again, or should I just stick with what I have?


aaaaand a quick check of my game shows my last team consisted of Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur, Mewtew, Zapdos, and Gengar.

Firstly, eww legendaries.

Now that that's out of the way, I'd say yeah they're worth it, though I'd recommend getting either Heart Gold or Soul Silver as you can get most of the 3rd and 4th gen Pokemon on that.

Oh, then yes, it's the same game because Nintendo is too lazy to provide new content, so they just remake old content which they can sell to 10 year olds.

And 18+ nerds on a hentai forum apparently.

Actually, even when they remade the originals (Firered/Leafgreen for Red/Blue or Green, depends on your locale), they not only updated to recent graphics, but added a few extras. For example, FireRed, after beating the final bosses, you gain access to an island area where you can catch some of the new-gens. So once again, cause it never gets old:

Back on topic, I don't have gold/silver, but lemme dig out FireRed and read off my current main six...
