Alright guys, who here has heard of Ib?
Yeah, a really nice game. I do believe it could be a bit longer and explain a couple of stuff.

Anyway, I decided to play the Chzo Mythos series and I just remembered that a certain may or may not be inspiration points for

Yeah I wish it was longer too, it was quite touching in some parts though.

And Halo4, someone tell me about it, I am not interested in general since... Halo 3 really should've been the end of the line.

The Walking Dead Ep. 4 Happened, and I played it. If you're the sort that has a load of feelings all the time, it's gonna be a bit rough. If not, you're still probably going to get got near the beginning and the end. Shit's heartbreaking, yo.
Just played though it a couple of days ago. I really like this series, they keep finding ways to shock and entertain me. I thought this was probably the best episode for far, previously i thought the second Episode was the best one.

I thought Episode three was a huge disappointment (And it was really short). Anyway, It feels like an RPG should be, focusing more on the characters than the graphics, its a throwback.

Apparently Steam decided to give me a free copy of DOTA2 to give away. I thought it was free, but apparently not. If anyone wants it, PM me your Steam info and I'll get it to you ASAP.

EDIT: So there's three gift copies as opposed to just the one. One has been claimed, which leaves two more up for grabs. I also have doubles of a few of the Humble Bundle games, if anyone's interested.

EDITEDIT: Another has been claimed, but I've been sent another copy. That leaves me with two copies up for grabs, still.
I've had Dota 2 forever and i just cant get into it. I've never been a fan of the slower Moba gameplay and since HoN is my go-to game right now, Dota 2 feels like molasses by comparison. There are heroes that i enjoy, dont get me wrong, but the game as a whole seems to be living mostly off of the hype.

Bahaha! It has been a while since I even heard of that movie.

But my Tall man is called Cabadath which always makes me think about cabbage.

Anyway, I went S.T.A.L.K.E.R'ing (Pun intended) when I found that people still aren't happy enough with the extended ending. So some blokes decided to make their own, calling it using mixed footage, additional sound and editing figures. It's still on the work and not yet perfected. But it's something for you who's not satisfied with the endings. So have another one.

Feeling like beating the horse into coke dust, but I don't really care anymore.

Got Halo 4. Played through the first few levels with my brother. No flashlight irks the FUCK out of me. A couple of the new weapons are pretty damn nice. Same with the equipment, though one stands above the rest, IMO, seeing as how there's a LACK OF FLASHLIGHT.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Gave Airmech a spin last night. It's like most DOTA clones in the fact that much of the game is about slowly crawling your way across the map, however much of the game is more typical strategy, trying to balance the units of your army to slowly push your way to the opponent and defeating them. Naturally the biggest difference between most DOTA clones is the fact your 'hero' is selected way in advanced, has TPS controls and is able to morph into a plane. Surprisenly works very well, definitely recommend it.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Nunu went through halo 4. competent game, to much CoD (as in there was some). I like the message as the credits start that these developers really appreciate being given such a beloved franchise and they hope you liked what their contribution to it. Thats nice. Like all the other halo's its more or less competant in all areas, but could have used more open areas and vehicle stuff that worked so well in all the other games. The guns felt a little useless a lot of the time though.

Spoilers:
I at first had a knee jerk reaction to humans not being the forerunners but after some time I now enjoy the story of what happened. Humans being the galactic superpower that get pushed back into forerunner space by the flood, then being caught in a war on two fronts their still kicking the ass of the forerunners until the current antagonist comes up with some way to halt them. Humans practicaly wiped out and the forerunners now in an unwinnable war with the flood... well you know the rest.

Wasn't so fond of masterchief being the magical superplan's perfect warrior for the situation though. far to convenient.

But the next stage of the halo saga being man kind reclaiming their place as the dominant power of the galaxy (get it, they are the Reclaimers), because we are just that boss.

(Halo stuff. I haven't played 4 yet, but it's regarding stuff Nunu said.
Yeah, whilst I've not actually played Halo 4 yet, so can't form too much of an opinion, the stuff I've heard about humans supposedly not being the forerunners stuck me as odd too. Every Halo game, 1 to 3, has been pretty damn specific that Humans are the forerunner descendants. Though supposedly one of the book authors decided between H2 and 3, that it wasn't so, and it's confused a lot of people since. Guilty Spark's various quotes and comments have always been one of the most direct indicators. From the simple "reclaimer" title he refers to you by, and quotes like...

"But you already knew that. I mean, how couldn't you?"
Talking about Halo's purpose.

"You can't imagine how exciting this is! To have a record of all our lost time! Human history is it? Fascinating. To think that you would destroy this installation, as well as this record."
Spark having a nerd out over the records in the Pillar of Autumns computers.

And the most direct of all. Needing not a shred of interpretation...
"You are the child of my makers. Inheritor of all they left behind. You are Forerunner. But this ring, is mine."

Then there's the stuff about the gateway to the Ark being buried on earth and all that, including Cortana's comments on the Covenant chatter during Halo2.
"Though it's strange... They seem surprised that we're here. Not... us, me and you, but Humanity, on Earth."

And not even going into some of the other cryptic stuff the Grave Mind rambles on about. The "Humans are Forerunner" stuff has always seemed like the most integral part of the Halo story. It sets up the entire reason why the Covenant end up going to war with Humanity and everything.

Despite saying all that I do need to play Halo 4 still incase I'm just misunderstanding this, but I'll have to wait until my brother starts sleeping again first. I just can't shake the feeling that this is yet another case of third party writer syndrome. Same deal as happened to Mass Effect. Series really need to keep their original writers and stick with them till the end. Too many minds in the fiction soup can spoil the brew.

Nuclear Dawn. On sale for 2.49 USD for the next 17 and a half hours. Anyone have any opinions on the game? I don't trust critic reviews, and the only 'Recommendation' is a recommendation to stay the hell away from the game, calling it buggy, unbalanced, and pretty broken. It does look pretty nice in the game-play footage, though.....

If ya show interest in Natural Selection, I say go for it. That review was probably written a while ago or via raegquit reasons, and it's not that bad. The progression when it comes to getting gear add-ons can be extremely slow if you're not good or have a bad team, and a lot of the game hinges on if the person that volunteers for command is any good, but beyond that it's not bad. That and they added Skirmish mode if you just want to jump in and shoot mans.

(Hrm. that explains why a lot of people were getting the 'get your first victory' achievement today.)

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Halo 4 and beyond, spoilers from Cryptum as well:
I've actually always thought it was clear that the humans were not actually the Forerunners themselves, but that we were created/ nurtured by them. They made a big deal of the parallels between the forerunners and diety, and I think it's guilty spark that says we are created in their image. Then I read the Cryptum book, and it makes sense. For those interested, it has a pinch of Mass Effect in it, in that the forerunners followed the "Precursors." It also touches on the origin of the flood, which is from outside our galaxy. Humankind actually managed to almost defeat the flood, by sacrificing enormous amounts of people that had been given a special immunity, (That makes them die as well.) It also makes it clear that humans and forerunner are genetic relatives.

Personally I can't wait for the FPS train to crash and other genres will arrive in the AAA industry.

From what I've played of Tutorials and Offline Practice:
- Intermediate 'Commander' mission is bugged, can't tell troops to even move, let alone cap a point.
- Giving instructions as a Commander (attack, defend, cap) don't seem to work.
- One of my offline practices bugged. Couldn't cap points, but I (and only I) was invincible, and proceeded to extend right to the enemy base, place a supply as well as a few turrets, and proceeded to blow the crap out of it.
- AI seems to be derp. They'll fight and cap, but they're seriously moronic about it, and they never seem to attack enemy structures.

Will attempt multiplayer over the weekend, to see if any class is as broken as the 'Recommendation' says, since they didn't feel that broken, but then again I was fighting AI, so *shrug*

Saw a few reports on the glitched achievements/commanding bug, not sure about the others o,o Possibly bugs related to the addition of the Skirmish mode and as I saw a patch was installed earlier it's a good chance the dev team are on it. Whether it's fixed or not yet, unsure.

What happens when you install over 200 mods into Skyrim, at complete random, without even checking what they are?

Funny stuff. That's what.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I Don't know how many people here would care about this but there is a mega crossover game for the 3DS called Project X Zone, Characters from Capcom, SEGA and Namco Bandai are in it. It's a minor sequil to NamcoXCapcom and plays pretty much the same way.We are also getting backing from OP Rainfall soon and it would be great if you could help tell people about our petition and you can watch one of the better trailers for the game here.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I've been buying a few steam games recently, the most noteworthy being Darksiders II. I liked the first one (there might be a review in this thread), and the second is shaping up to be a worthy successor. There are, however, a few gripes that I'd like to share.

- The loot system strikes me as largely unnecessary. As a matter of fact, I think it's detrimental to the game, as it lessens the "wow" factor of unique equipment you get from defeated bosses. I think I preferred the first one's system, which was much closer to Zelda or God Of War. However, if they are going to clutter my inventory with junk, it's nice to know that there are some weapons that you can "feed" with said junk to make them stronger.

- The story (as far as I can tell) seems somewhat weaker than the first one. Where the first one was "I have been wronged! I'll kill all of you!", the second one is "My brother has been wronged! I'll bring all of you back to life!"
This seems especially stupid for fans of the first one, as in the end War does get his revenge and proves his innocence all by himself.
