"I would advise it. Though, many of the demons that look human will not maintain the facade of pacifism for very long. And don't be ridiculous, after what I did to that creature, do you truly believe you could stop me if I were going to attack you?" He replies, answering not only her spoken question, but the one she'd thought as well.

Arinas nods having guessed that demons, even human looking ones, would be far easier read then this... was he even a man? However as he spoke the next part her eyes widened underneath the protective cover of her helm's full eye guard.

Can he read mind... or did i give it away with how I watched him? Her mind rang out. She was left speechless for a while trying to think something to say but nothing came to mind. Then the smell of the demon's blood came back to her mind.

".... You... wouldn't happened to know somewhere safe to rest and clean my armor... would you?" She questioned now feeling fear of Matthias now. He was clearly powerful. She wouldn't stand a chance... not even fully rest even.

Matthias waves his hand, and Arina suddenly feels rejuvenated, as not only has her armor been cleaned of the demon blood, but her spiritual energy has been restored as well. "Both, though neither would be particularly applicable to anyone else in this place. At least none that I've come into contact with. And unless you become so heavily corrupted as to join the demons, you need have no fear of me." He says, in reply to her thoughts.

Arina watched the man wave his hand and was about to question what it was for before she felt all of her power come back to her. It felt like she had rested for 3 straight days in a soft feather bed. She also noticed the feel and smell of the blood gone and looked to see her armor as clean as it was when she entered the village.

"Thank you." She with a slight bow of her head.

"There maybe others who need your help like I did. If you don't mind... and the happen to know where any other... non-corrupted beings are I would like to offer my blade to help. " She look about as she more or less ask if she could travel with him... at least for a time.

"Again, you are welcome. There are usually others that might make good use of my aid. That doesn't mean that they're going to get it. The nearest creatures that might aid you are a small group of the Fey nearby. That, however, was not the reason that I tore that demon off of you. Do you know why the demons are here?" Matthias replied.

"Why would I know that?" She answered. Trying to keep thoughts to herself maybe be useless around Matthias but it didn't stop her.

You have power but wont use it for others... then why did you bother with me. Her thoughts rung out.

The man shrugs, and replies; "Perhaps someone told you before now. Or perhaps you'd gained enough evidence to figure it out for yourself. I don't go snooping through peoples memories unless I feel it necessary, it's impolite you know."

"The demons are here because someone or something summoned them here, and allowed a powerful being from the other side of the gate in the center of town to open the portal to our world. Unfortunately, whoever has done this has so far evaded my senses. I rescued you, as I have rescued many others, because you provide another set of eyes. I offer you a deal; If you agree to alert me should you find any being of particular power or that might be tied to the cause of this invasion, I will come to your aid if you run in to anything you cannot defeat on your own."

In her mind, the man relies; 'I can't go around rescuing everyone. It's not like I can be everywhere at once you know. If you'd prefer to have this conversation entirely telepathically, it can be so.'

"So could reading one's mind." She said with the replied at the reading memories. She shakes her head lightly as listened to Matthias.

"It's the least I could do after you saved me as you did." She answered after he was done speaking.

However... how would I be able to contact you should I find someone or need your help?" She asked.

"All you need do is say my name." Matthias replies. He doesn't respond to her comment about mind reading, but he doesn't say anything else into her mind either.

"Well then.... I wouldn't want to keep you on your quest. I'll be on my way.... and if I find anything I'll call for you." She said with nod of her covered head. She turns and starts to walk away. As she started to make her way deeper in to the city she started to wonder if she should even be here. If it was not for Matthias she could be dead... or far far worse when it comes to demons.

Matthias disappears once she finishes speaking, but Arinas only shrugs and moves on, not overly bothered or surprised by his sudden disappearance. Heading down a random street, Arinas is given the chance to regain her confidence as a pair of insectlike creatures with their backs covered in tentacles turn a corner and advance on her from twenty feet away, screeching.

As the insect looking creatures turn the corner Arinas shakes her head.

I'll always hated bugs... She thinks to herself as she pulls her Nodachi from her back and did the best she could at holding the blade firm in her hands. However the the blade still shakes a bit as she held it. It seemed she still had not gotten over that demon dog. Arinas takes a deep breath and steadies her self as she rushes to run one the beasts through.

To-hit: 19 + 45 + 3 = 67 vs 25 == Hit.
Damage: 7 + 7 + 4 = 18 damage.

Arinas stabs into the tentacled demon, causing it to let out a loud ear splitting screech. It and its companion reach at her with their tentacles, intending to ensnare her.

To-hit: 5 + 44 = 49 vs 28 == Hit.

Arinas is immediately grappled by the creature she'd injured, its tentacles entangling her heavily. The other creature approaches, but does not yet act.

Arinas lets go of the Nodachi as starts to hammer at it pummel with her armored fist trying to push the hand guard and handled straight through. With any luck the pain would be touch for the demon to keep it's grasp on her and leave her with only the other to fight.

"I WILL NOT SHOW WEAKNESS AGAIN!" She yells still thinking about the demon dog still in the back of her mind.

Grapple: 16 + 30 + 3 = 49 vs 1 + 44 = 45 == Arinas wins.

Arinas manages to tears the creatures tentacles away from her. The two demons screech, but don't attack immediately after she frees herself.

Backing off to get some space, Arinas questions why they didn't out right attack her again but counted it as a blessing. Her Nodachi was still stuck in the one she had attacked having back off put it out of range. She balls her right hand in to a fist as a white gray mist formed about her arm. The mist formed in to sword starting about her wrist and ending three feet outward. She readies her self of the demons to attack as the blade finally took it full form.

The blade of mist seems to solidify with a crackling sound around her hand, though it remains totally weightless.

To-hit: 7 + 44 = 51 vs 28 + 46 = 74 == Miss.
To-hit: 11 + 44 = 55 vs 28 + 46 = 74 == Miss.

Both creatures try to capture her once more, but she manages to evade every one of their many tentacles.

With her weapon now fully formed, Arinas at the wounded bug hoping to put it down. She dropped low to strike at it's leg so if it was not killed it would at least have a harder time to move about and attack her.

To-hit: 19 + 20 + 3 = 42 vs 25 == Hit.
Damage: 1 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 26 damage. Regained 4 EP.

Arinas spiritual blade sliced off two of the demons leg, causing the thing to collapse forward onto the ground, its tentacles already going limp. She can tell that the demon is dead by the touch of her spirit to its own, and she'd leeched a good amount of energy from its dying body.

To-hit: 6 + 44 = 50 vs 28 == Hit.

The other demon grabs her with its tentacles, lifting her slightly off the ground as they wrap around her limbs.

As the demon fell forward a small smile crosses Arinas' face. She knew it was in fact dead and would not have to worry about the two on one fight anymore. But her smile was more for the fact she did not fell....wrong when she cut the beast down with her spirit blade. Knowing she would not take anything in to herself via the spirit weapon that would harm her or mess with her mind was a great fact to learn.

But her smile disappeared as quickly as it appeared once the other demon wrapped it's tentacles about her. She felt it lift her off the ground meaning the things tentacles wore very powerful. Her sword arm was still free which would allow a single slash to try getting some or most of the tentacles to release her.
