This thing is eerily like a boss in Devil May Cry 4...jellyfish appear to be the best solution to killing it, as we don't have a tricked-out revolver.

B
B+ try and lure it onto a colision course with the hunters ship. they deserve to be sunk by the fish from what they pulled earlier. plus it may buy us time to find a better way to kill it.

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

Oog... I have no idea what Link should do now. Especially with Mr. Biri hugging her like that...

Ehhh...
Vote 1 - D
Vote 2 - Either B or C - both, if possible.

The biri don't seem to be able to do anything against the monster, however much they want to... but I don't think Dr. Mizugi would even be ready to fight a gigantic fish - and the hunters are ready. And I don't think Link should stick around to fight any more - something suggests that Mr. Biri wants Link to be safe so his babies are safe.

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

(Winning votes: 1)b and 2)b )

Link took a few swipes at the seaweed and a few stray rupees fell out, her heart brightening, she hoped for more, and got it. By sheer luck, a single recovery heart fell free just after a magic vial hit the ground. She snatched it up scant seconds before the beast was on her again.

Blade clashing against scales, the beast rounded violently on Link over and over, not wanting to give up its prey, while the hylian heroine desperately struggled to keep from becoming the monster's latest meal.

The two kept at each other, neither one seeming to take the advantage...

Even as Link finally lured the enormous angler into crashing through the swarm of biri, it didn't seem to phase the monstrosity as it came crashing back after her, though more and more biri were clutching onto the creature, shocking it little by little.

The Angler Monster dove at Link and slammed into the ground hard, knocking Link for a loop as she fell flat on her ass, the biri on her squeezing her tits and rubbing around her, while the ones on the monster were mostly knocked off. Thanks to her little friend, Link was faster to recover rushing the monster and a sharp blade swipe across its face and over its eye.

It tried to retreat, flicking its tail wildly, but the biri were already swarming again, and Link drove her sword through the monster's face, embedding her blade deep inside its body.

There was a strange tingling, Link felt as if the biri that was on her still was charging up its attack, jolts of energy crackling off of her, and she closed her eyes, twisting the blade violently to try to end the fight, expecting the hard electrical attack to render her helpless again at any second.

Link heard the horrifying cry of the monster she was on, snapping her back into reality as she was shocked again, the biri on her back had a tendril wrapped around her sword's handle, violent jolts of electricity crackling directly into the monster's skull.

The monster roared again and its body twisted and threw Link off of it, the swarms of biri scattering as it raged and began to spiral, bursting through the swarms, Link watched as dozens of biri collapsed all around her, the creature's rage creating a whirlpool of death and destruction, electricity crackling everywhere, but every jolt that rushed towards the beast snapped off of its thick scales, leaving the creature unharmed.

The swarms of biri mostly dead, it was down to Link and the trembling biri on her back, its long tendrils rolled down her arm and cradling her sword.

The injured boss monster swirled and began to spin, its powerful jaws opening and it broke its pattern, huge torrents of water crashing against Link and sending her hurtling in wild spirals through the water. Link hit hard against the hull of the hunter's ship, and the fish rushed forward, preparing to devour its final opponent.

Link used her hookshot to cling to the underside of the boat, glaring downward at the fast approaching monster. She crouched close to the boat, bracing for the attack, her muscles tense, and she launched herself down at the beast just as it was about to strike her, sword cleaving downward and slicing through its jaw, gutting the fish at the same time her Biri sent a hideous crackling jolt of lightning-like power into the creature.

The split creature slammed hard into the hunter's ship, shattering part of their hull and their ship began to sink, Link heard yelling all over above her as she sank down to the bottom of the lake.

Link looked around the darkened remains of the cave, finally brought to light, two things stood out. The sliced off angler monster's antennae, and a large heart container that the creature had gotten its hands on somehow.

Link grabbed up the heart container and felt the flood of energy washing over her body, feeling stronger. Then picked up the remains of the angler's illusionary orb as she dropped the rocks off her belt and floated to the surface.

Link's face splashed out of the water and she heard a crying out from her crew's voice, the girl waving wildly as their small boat sailed up to Link, the heroine grabbing the side of the boat and lifting herself onto it, feeling a bit dizzy still from the strain of the battle, she came on board to the shocked stare of the young girl.

Link's outfit still in tatters, she felt a strange squeeze, her breasts and pussy rubbed against, the biri still on her without shocking her. She looked down over herself and found its many tendrils were wrapped about her breasts and pussy almost like clothes, softly rubbing her. Even though it was trying to cover her like clothes though, its tendrils were still quite transparent, the girl blushing as she got an eyeful of Link's ample assets and magnificent body.

Dr. Mizumi and the girl's father were both preoccupied, as they discussed the enormous, now dead, fish monster, and Link held up the creature's antennae, tossing it on deck as the girl cried out, "THAT? That... That... THAT... THAT WAS THE WATER GODDESS?"

Link nodded slowly, the scientists got to work, and for once, despite her near nudity, the hunters were no longer taunting Link, too busy struggling with their sinking ship to even notice the heroine's slightly shameful state.

The victor was clear, Link tauntingly waving after the sinking ship. There were a few octoroks around, and some stray biri that survived the fight, but the most dangerous thing in the lake was gone, so there was no real worry for the hunters, Link finally taking a minute to relax and catch her breath after the fight.

The scientists hooked the fish's body and dragged it back to shore, ready to begin their research, Link overhearing dozens of comments on the strange fish, but after having nearly been fish food, she decided she'd rather not be a major part of continuing the research on this thing.

The sun was slowly setting on the land of Kasuto, yet a feeling of dread was in the pit of Link's stomach. Even having such a success under her belt, Link still couldn't help but squirm uncertainly... probably because of what ELSE was under her belt still squirming. A smile of hope crossed her lips though, as if this win was just the first of many, and she could make a difference again, being the hero that she was instead of just a traveler moving from place to place.

... but she knew she had her work cut out for her.

*Fade Out*

(Intermission!

After a very rough battle, Link came out on top with her biri tag-along thanks to a rather amazing double-20 roll with the two of them soundly putting an end to the fight.

For the intermission, I'd like everyone to leave comments and opinions. No voting.
Does it need more sex?
Does it need more fighting?
Does Link's personality need any adjustments?
Anything else!

So drop comments and I'll launch the continuation soon!)

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

Huh... wow. Didn't expect that resolution.

I'd say the balance between fighting and sex is better now. Of course, you can't guarantee that us readers won't vote Link into swinging one way or the other. Personality-wise, I feel you're getting a more realistic Link going now. Just need to keep that voting from getting out of hand...

Probably what Dematt said. It seems good thus far...just need to keep the sex and fighting balanced, lest Link become more of a whore than a warrior.

Agreed, the part in town was kinda slow and meh, but the lake portion was very kickass. I'm enjoying.

Feels just right, in my opinion. Some sex, some fighting, a bit for everyone.
No comment on her personality.

Enjoying it plentily in general. :3

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

(Very happy everyone is enjoying. I'm trying to balance things out based on the votes I'm getting, and juggling plot speed and action.

Here's a few votes to end the intermission.

Vote 1) Link rubs her belly lightly and decides...
a) ... to ask the scientists to remove the eggs. (Bad Biri reaction)
b) ... to keep the eggs, feeling indebted to the biris for their help. (Nice Biri reaction)
c) ... to offer to take more eggs for the biris to help repopulate for those that died in the fight. (Good Biri Reaction)
d) ... to convince the girl to take some biri eggs to help repopulate what the angler monster killed. (Good Biri Reaction)
e) ... both C and D. (Very Good Biri Reaction!)

Vote 2) After winning the fight, Link and the Biri...
a) ...quietly separate and go their individual ways...
b) ...fight each other...
b1) ... started by Link attacking the thing that impregnated her.
b2) ... started by the Biri trying to drag Link back to its home.
b3) ... caused by the Biri continually teasing Link, much to her disapproval.
b4) ... when the Biri approaches the girl and tries to lay some more eggs.

c) ... come to a casual understanding and Link tries to have the biri stay with her. (Requires high reaction roll with the Biri, name your new Biri if roll succeeds)

Vote 3) Led to Ruto by Dr. Mizumi, Link approaches the princess...
a) With caution and uncertainty, a bit stand-offish.
b) Relieved, but still politely rejecting Ruto's advances.
c) In a very friendly manner, being close, but still gently reminding Ruto she's not in love with her.
d) Feeling a strong pang of missing Ruto and a deep love for the princess, expressing her fondness of the zora woman.
e) And plays coy with the princess, gently easing her in for their passionate reunion.

(Vote 3 optional extras
+1 - Link tries to make out with Ruto.
+2 - Link tries to have sex with Ruto.

(if they go far enough to have sex, then also: )
+3 - Link offers to let Dr. Mizumi and companions watch.
+4 - Link offers to let the girl join.
+5 - Link offers to let the girl's father join.
+6 - Link offers to let Dr. Mizumi join.
+7 - Link tries to get her biri to join (if Biri is a companion).
+8 - Link asks Ruto to participate in the Hylian Sex Guide she's making.)

Note: None of these votes will impact Link returning to Zora's Domain with Ruto.

If anyone else has comments or suggestions before the CYOA picks up again, feel free to suggest them, or drop me info in a PM if things get going again and you'd rather not interrupt with a larger post.)

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

I have to say, I'm enjoying this CYOA quite a bit. I would like to see a bit more open-ended choices, such as Link being able to reconsider her agreement with the photographer and break his legs instead of getting friendly with Epona by default. Just a thought.

Vote 1) E

Because you never know when having an electric jellyfish horde can come in handy.

Vote 2) C

Jellyfish diplomacy sounds too interesting an opportunity to pass up.

Vote 3) A

There's already been one fake Ruto....

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

1)E

Jellyfish army was useful...and a good deed should be returned with such.

2)C

Pet shocker jellyfish? Hell yes.

3)C OR D

Reasoning: A isn't exactly the best thing if we want Ruto on our side during the standoff with the false king. B would most likely make Ruto a tad unhappy... C is similar to B, but might work just a bit better. D would make Ruto 'very' happy...but on the other hand, it'll probably tie Link down slightly (although having her completely on your side would be useful). E is a bit...over the top, although if E wins...

I pick: +2, +4 and +7... +8 has no logical sense whatsoever, although it'd mean more sex scenes I guess.

Link went along because of a mixture of voting for it, and her promise. Link is mostly trustworthy, and I'm playing her as such.

You're always free to offer your own choices, and if it gets enough votes, I'll let it fly (assuming it's not TOO insane).

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

Tempting as keeping a pet jellyfish around might be... I think I have to point out that Link's probably not going to be staying near waterways for much longer. And I doubt Mr. Biri would enjoy visiting a volcano, what is it called? Goron Mountain? So...

1) B, maybe C. I don't think Link's on good enough terms with the girl to talk her into being a biri-mother.
2) A mix of A and C - Link and Mr. Biri get along better, but they separate anyways, as Mr. Biri doesn't want to leave the lake. Hmmm... maybe Link learns an ocarina melody so she can meet Mr. Biri if she comes back to the lake?
3) C or D... I don't know whether Link's involved with anyone in this timeline, so I don't know whether she would get involved with Ruto or not. Leave the pluses until after we've started meeting Ruto.
Gonna revise my vote in light of Kathy's comments. I'll make a new post with the new vote.

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

(quick response to DeMatt:
If the Biri chooses to become an ally, he'll stay behind anytime it's too dangerous for him to enter an area. So if Link heads to Death Mountain, he'd follow until the air gets too dry, then duck into the nearest safe body of water to wait for Link's return, but anywhere that's wet enough for him, he'll come along.

As for Link having other relationships: The assumption is that Link left Hyrule similar to Majora's Mask, and simply continued her adventures from there. She acted a hero in a few other situations, but no major encounters came up on her travels. Anyone she's gotten close to out there has been a casual thing at best. Her deepest relationships are those from OoT and MM, at least until she creates new relationships in this RP.

Lastly: I asked about the optionals because I was going to post their entire meeting in one post and move into returning to Zora's Domain.)

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

Hmm... too bad I've never played Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask, and therefore don't know the storylines worth a darn.

1) C. Tempting as the "talk the girl into breeding with biri" option is, I don't see why it would work - so let's not annoy her or her dad.

2) C. Mr. Biri ought to be interested in those eggs Link's carrying, yes?

3) D. Need to get back to Zora's Domain, and the quicker the better, right? Recreational sex will just have to wait.

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

1.) c - Well, at least she doesn't object too much when the thing tries. Trying to talk someone else into it seems a bit much.
2.) c - The biri isn't going to attack Link, but it also isn't going to leave her alone. And after its help, Link isn't going to want to kill it.
3.) I'm disinclined to offer an opinion. She's been tricked once already today, but other then keeping that in mind I don't have any real idea how Link should act. But from the tone of the RPG it'll probably rightly end in sex one way or another, so... for the extras I think my vote goes for any one of 3-6, and 7.

Re: Kathy's Legend of Zelda CYOA

1. B only so as not to waste time
2. A leave it and go, it's done its part
3. I don't think there's a fair middle ground here, I think she should just be quiet about meeting her, but not be like "I don't love you." It's not rude to be in a rush for time, but the options make it sound like if you don't have sex, you're an ass.
