Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"Kay!" was all Club said in reply, before flopping onto the ground on her butt. "Gwave will always be mine though. Club doesn't care if Gwave's sister clings to him, but Club loves Gwave, and Gwave loves Club. If blondie doesn't like that, too bad!" Club announced.

Whenever Cynder went and found his sister, she was already storming back, the desire to fight still burning in her eyes. "Out of my way, I'll squash her like the little insect she is!" Envy declared with bloody vengeance.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Sighing, Grave stood in his sister's path. He didn't intend to pick a fight - it wouldn't help anything, and his back smarted a little from the last blow. Still he had to stop her from continuing the fight. "Envy, please. Stop." He asked firmly. "We will sort this out, but without violence. If I just let the two of you rampage around, you'll wreck the whole farm. Worse, you'll end up hurting yourselves." And probably everyone else around them, too. "I do not want to see that happen. I will not allow for that to happen. Just... Let's go back, then we can fix this. Ok?"

Almost like a monkey, Envy jumped, and wrapped her legs around his chest, and her hands around his neck before shaking him back and forth. Not quite choking him, but still making it uncomfortable. "YOU LOVE HER MORE THAN ME DON'T YOU!" she exclaimed.

Answering 'yes', as Grave's survival instinct would dictate, would result in death most likely.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Desperately doing his best to maintain balance under the assault, Grave tried embrace Envy, partially to hold her close to him and make further attacks difficult, partially to calm her down. "No, I don't." He replied. "I do not love you less than anyone, and I never will. Do not forget that." He sighed. Now how to convince her to go along peacefully. "Envy, please. Calm down. Fighting over me like that will lead to nothing good. You're irreplacable. How do you think I'll feel if you get hurt?" Come to think of it, that was a good question. He really needed a better understanding of what others were thinking. "I love you. You can trust me."

Envy's face blushed a bit, and her rage seemed to subside, though she turned her head away from him in a pout. "That doesn't make me happy." She stated, before yellow blades formed out of her blond hair, all pointing at him with one gently poking his forehead. "If you're lying though, I'll kill you..." she added.

Grave still wasn't quite sure what to think of Envy's reactions. Still, he was reasonably certain that being unhappy and homicidal was norm for her, and considering that her rage has subsided he likely managed to achieve the desired effect. "I know, I know." She promised him the same thing last time as well. "Come on, let's go back." Should she prove uncooperative with that bit, Cynder would simply carry her back, a bit of innocent teasing for her aggressive attitude.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"Fine..." Envy grudgingly agreed, following Grave back, and seeming rather tense as they got closer to Club, who was looking at Tina, who was looking at the hole in her barn, her jaw hanging.

"Want Club to fix it?" Club inquired.

"No... Just... Get me wood..." Tina said slowly.

"Kay!" Club replied, before jumping off into the forest. One of the trees become animate, before flying back. Club then dropped an entire tree in front of Tina. "Here you go!" Club announced.

"... Thank you..." Tina said, looking ready to cry.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Grave winced as he saw Tina during his approach. He hoped that the news could be delivered to her gently, but... Well, it wasn't like he'd do any better than Club, not with his social skills. And having Envy tell her that was probably out of the question. Right now, he had to fix this - figuratively and literally - before it got even worse. The girl offered them a place to spend the night, and wrecking it was not the right way to pay her back. "We'll fix it." Cynder interjected. "It's our fault, and we'll take responsibility." Carpentry wasn't a skill he was familiar with, but he could at least cover the hole. They'd need to convert the tree into something useful first, though.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Tina seemed a bit put off by Grave's announcement that he was going to fix it with the others. She didn't seem comfortable with that thought, before she spoke up about it. "... I'd like to at least oversee the repairs. It'll make me feel better." she insisted.

As Envy and Club seemed to fall in line and understand they needed to help, everyone began taking advice from Tina, who played a very active role. Club and Envy were amateurs at such a task it seemed, and so Tina made herself to be somewhat of a mentor. Just seeing everyone lost at the beginning left her looking drained. "You guys really need a crash course in Carpentry..." she sighed. Looking to Cynder, Tina took a hammer and board before putting them in his hands. "How about it? You might find it a valuable skill." she offered with a smile.

Meanwhile, Envy slowly began letting out a dark aura. Her eyes were looking at Tina with jealous hatred.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Grave could easily imagine why Tina seemed not too pleased about his idea. After all, there was little doubt who made the hole in the first place. And considering that the culprits were prone to causing mayhem at the drop of a hat (each for various reasons), perhaps they were not the best people to use as help. Still, she agreed to let them deal with this, even though she insisted on overseeing the job.

Not that it was a bad thing, Cynder had to admit. It was obvious Envy had no practice with this sort of work, and Club wasn't exactly suited for it. He could have the ability, but there were few job-related skills he actually had. Most of what his old man taught him was either related to combat and survival, or leaned towards more scholarly pursuits, like reading and writing. And no one would accept a "monster child" as an apprentice in their shop, he mused with a slightly soured expression.

Grave's thoughts were interrupted when Tina reached out to him, offering the hammer as well as her guidance. "Huh? Oh yeah, sure." He accepted without much thought, picking up the tool. "Can't exactly think of a situation it'd help in, but then again..." He sighed, his tone of voice turning deadpan. "Considering the insanity I find myself dealing with on a daily basis, it might be more helpful than I believe." At this point, he belatedly realized he had another problem coming up. A problem that was blonde, short tempered and perhaps a bit too quick to jump to conclusions for anyone's good. "Sorry for a sec." He muttered, turning his attention to Envy.

"You know..." Cynder started, feeling rather exasperated. He moved closer to his sister, hoping to guide her a little to the side so they could converse in peace. Not that it'd help much, he believed. She was prone to screaming very loudly when mad. "She's just offering some help, and she does have a point here. We're just going to fix this, then we'll be off on our journey. You don't need to treat every girl that exchanges more than two sentences with me like a rival. I mean, we've only met her yesterday. There's no way in Hell affection could appear in such a short time."

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"Don't you go off and say that! Construction is always a useful skill!" Tina scolded him, then nodded at his final thought. "You might even find yourself able to settle down one day because you have this skill. Don't underestimate a practical talent!" she lectured him. Then, she readily excused him from the task at hand to speak with Envy, who was being envious.

Rather than respond to anything he said, Envy simply stared at him with an angry face while he talked, before replying with something that didn't seem to take into consideration what he said at all. "Do you prefer them big?" she inquired. She gave him a death stare, as if his life depended on his answer.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"Huh?" The sudden question caught Grave off guard. For a moment, he just tried to process it, looking rather confused as she tried to figure out it's meaning. His people (and girlfriend) skills were rather lacking, but his mind was sharp enough to make the connection as he glanced at Tina once before turning back to Envy. "Oh! You mean..." Cynder paused, unsure how to finish the sentence. Then he took a really good look at Envy's expression and decided he should rather focus on answering the question. It was pretty obvious what kind of answer would be the wrong one here, and logic dictated that giving the opposite reply would be the right course of action. However, the half-blood had little doubt his sister would see through a half-assed answer. He believed he should be honest with her, though that could be potentially dangerous. However, as he considered the dilemma, he realized he actually had little to fear for telling truth - or so he thought.

"Well, to be honest." Grave started, pausing for a bit to choose his words. "Big ones aren't necessarily a bad thing, to a certain extent that is. But I don't think that's something I care about much. Size doesn't mean everything, you know, and I actually prefer them smaller than bigger. Too much and it just starts looking ridiculous." Such was the curse of big chests. They required a good figure to support their appeal, and there was a point at which it disappeared. Plus, they looked harder to deal with from a more hands-on approach as well. Thinking about it, Cynder realized he would rather stick to small-chested girls - the sort of figure they tended to have appealed to him most. "Yeah, it's actually better if they're small if you ask me."

"Big ones aren't necessarily a bad thing-"

Her hair turned into knives. Fury unleashed. She went from envious to murderous. He'd have to finish the last of what he'd have to say while everyone watched actually took a step back, as if Grave was going to explode in a violent and deadly blast. They didn't think at all to help him in that situation. At hair-knife point, the tips of her razor sharp hair blades poked against his flesh, and the mark around his neck tightened uncomfortably. Still at knife point even as he finished talking, when he mentioned preferring smaller breasts somewhat, Envy glanced down at her own chest with her red glowing eyes as if to check, before looking back to Cynder with a deeper glare, prodding him with a bit uncertainty.

Envy happened to be sporting something a little bit more impressive than an a-cup, while still not quite reaching the b point. Seeing that little bit of roundness in her chest, she poked him once more. "H-how small?" she asked with a bit of a stutter.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

'Note for future reference - choice of words, Cynder. Choice of words.' Grave was glad he managed to finish his speech very, very fast. That didn't mean he was safe, though. Envy still looked as if she wanted to tear him to little pieces, but it seemed he still had a chance to get out of this without too much damage. He just needed to give the right answer this time. However, he also needed to phrase it properly as well, or risk a swift and painful execution. "Well..." He stared at her chest for a bit, trying to come up with something to say. She definitely was a bit round in that area, though it was nothing too big - just enough to fit in the palm of a hand. He rather liked that. "Yours are a good example." He tried to think of further descriptions, but decided that perhaps this would be the best option to go with. Still, just a little to be sure... "Might not look like much at first glance, but they fit your figure nicely."

After he spoke his piece, Grave would find Envy remaining like that for a few moments longer. Deadly blades poking his body all over, before they slowly lowered. "... Tell... Tell the cow that I'm much more attractive than she is. Say it to her face!" Envy demanded.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"Ok..." Grave replied walking up to Tina and holding his breath. If that helped Envy get a hold of herself, he was fine with fullfilling the request. Surely she'd understand why he was doing it, and there was no point in going against his sister's demands. With a sigh, Cynder stared Tina in her face and spoke in a matter-of-fact tone. "Just wanted to tell you that I think Envy's more attractive than you." He sincerely hoped this would be the end of the whole idiotic episode. Then, they could fix the damaged shed. There was also the matter of him promising to do something about getting Club and Envy to coexist, but now he realized that project would have to be put on hold. First, he had to figure a way to help his sister interact with pretty much anyone without blowing up.

Easier said than done.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

Tina turned, looking rather exhausted, before he caught her attention. She listened, and her tired expression turned sour. "... Are you tryin' to start a fight, boy?" she inquired, getting angry. Roy and Valencia suddenly took to holding the holstauress back while she began steaming with anger. "How dare you insult my pride and talk to me like that on my own property! Comparing me to that little runt!? I'm more attractive than everyone here combined!" she growled.

"You did NOT just go there!" Valencia huffed, now insulted as well. "This is between you and that ironing board." she stated.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING AN IRONING BOARD!? I'M PERFECT! Grave said so!" Envy boasted, her hair turning into fists.

"Oh, that does it!" Tina growled.

All at once. Tina throw her fist at Envy, Envy throw her hair fist at Valencia, and Valencia delivered a high kick to Tina. Then came the collision, then all three fell over, knocking each other out all at once as they each fell to the ground.

Roy stepped forth, grabbed some wood and a hammer from Tina, and glanced at Cynder before heading towards the house. "... Let's get to work." she suggested, ignoring what just happened.

Meanwhile, Club was laughing hysterically, sitting on a pile of hay as if all before her danced for her amusement. She was rolling on her back, legs kicking in the air after seeing the triple knockout. It amused her greatly.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

'Ah shit.'

Grave hoped that Tina would understand he was doing this mostly to humor his sister, not because he meant to insult her. Unfortunately, it seemed that the girl was far more sensitive about her attractiveness than he assumed. Perhaps this was typical for monster girls to care about her appearance that much... Or it was typical of all women, if Valencia's reaction was anything to go by. Reaction that lead to a very cringe-worthy sight.

As he watched the aftermath of his little blunder, Grave couldn't help but feel his motivation for teaching his companions to get along vanish. It's not like he had an idea how to do that, anyway, and if they were that easy to set off he'd end up with a few broken bones at best. Besides, in the end it wasn't his responsibility to tell a group of adults how to behave. With a sigh, Cynder turned to the only person in the group who seemed to have enough sense not to get mixed up in this: Roy.

"Yeah, sure." Walking over the three stooges with his own hammer in hand, he followed the neo-girl towards the broken building. Now that was something he could deal with. Still, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty about his part in this whole mess. "Roy... Just tell me honestly. What am I doing wrong?"

"You're indulging them." Roy answered flatly. "The world is different than the one you're used to. Women will do as they please here, and they respond to you. They want to appeal to you, impress you. They're acting like idiots because most women are idiots. Mamono at least. There's a few good ones out there, don't get me wrong... But you can't indulge their foolishness. If you ignore them, they'll behave." Roy instructed him, before both he and Grave worked on patching up the barn, first by removing the damaged wood and replacing it with the new boards. The job took a while, but teamwork eventually left them successful. Though every once in a while, Cynder would see Roy glancing at him out of the corner of his eye. He was a woman now, and the blush on 'her' face signaled that.

Re: Where now, Prince? (Grave)

"I see... Thanks for the advice." Grave mused over what Roy told him. It didn't occur to him to look at the situation like that. Perhaps he really was enabling the girls too much? It kinda made sense in light of what he just learned. He was giving them the attention they were trying to get, so they came to the conclusion they should continue to act like that. Then again, should he really deprive them of that? Cynder didn't want to hurt them more than he already did. A lot of recent events developed poorly because of his own incompetence.

However, as he wrestled with that dilemma, Grave happened to glance at the ko'ed women again. That sight was a firm reminder of how things would develop in the future if he did nothing. No, he had to get them in line. Their needs were one thing, but if they kept this up, it was obvious that they'd hurt someone one day. Perhaps treating them a bit like children and rewarding good behaviour only would correct the issue. Hell, this didn't occur entirely because of him, gods damn it! And to think he was one step away from giving himself a guilt complex over it... Feeling his resolve to act grow a bit stronger, Cynder focused back on work.

With no further distractions, the work went quite smoothly. Soon, Grave could look at the freshly repaired wall with no small amount of satisfaction after a job well done. He was growing a bit wary of the way Roy continued to glance at him from time to time. The neo-girl was definitely attracted to him, no doubt about that. The question was, what to do with it? Cynder had several options here, but several things to consider as well. Roy's own advice being one of them, obviously. Another, and probably more important concern, was determining how close he wanted to be with the blonde. After some thought, he decided to leave the issue. As long as it ended with glances he was fine, for now.
