I agree, nay on the meters. I can understand the reasoning behind such a change, but it's quite a bit of instances of the word "feet" to edit just to make things at the base level slightly less silly. And, at the top level, my stupid mage build that can run at 261 mph suddenly gets a lot sillier when base speed is measured in meters (something like 500 mph, I think? I dunno, I did the new math very quickly). >.>

I think things could be measured "hexagons" or "squares" and people wouldn't particularly care, so it doesn't seem worth the bother.

Nay on meters. It's not a technologically advanced setting, so "natural" measurements make more sense.

I'm thinking keep it a General Skill so everyone has access to it without needing to grab Sneaky or Stealthy.

I'm thinking keep it a General Skill so everyone has access to it without needing to grab Sneaky or Stealthy.
I was under the impression that sudden strike is supposed to simulate feinting. Although it does require stealthy.

But Feint wouldn't be counted as a sneak attack and wouldn't get the double damage. You still get the auto-hit and some increased damage for catching your opponent unawares, but it also puts you at more risk if the opponent sees through the ruse.

I am confus regarding this. By default, does a whole turn really pass if I don't have my weapon drawn?

Beings with cat-like features who were once human many centuries ago. They are descendants of the Anudorians, but their culture split off many centuries ago following their mutation. They settled cities along the coast on the Western edge of the continent, sitting on the opposite side of the Anudor desert from Badaria, and are the only race with trading contacts beyond the known world. Their society is highly insular and patriarchal, women often being little more than slaves, and non Su-Ku-Ta within their lands are generally considered slaves. Outsiders are not welcome among them. They are one of two races possessing the technology to create firearms, but also possess many dedicated and skilled mages.

Skills:
Defensive Stance (Activated) – The character forsakes all attacks for the round, but gains a +10 bonus to Dodge. The character gets a free attack on any creature that attacks them in melee and misses. Requires Duelist OR Shield Fighter.

Lightning Strikes (Activated) – The character attacks three times instead of only once, but each attack takes a -12 penalty to its attack roll and a -6 penalty to damage. These attacks need not be against the same creature. Requires Duelist.

Power Strike (Activated) – The character can trade points from their Dodge to make their attacks more likely to hit and deal more damage. These are traded at a 1 to 1 rate, every point of Dodge traded granting the character a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, and no more than 10 points can be subtracted from Dodge. Cannot be used in the same turn that a character is fighting defensively (trading attack for additional Dodge.) Requires Duelist.

Disarm (Activated) – The character can forsake the damage done by their attack to instead disarm their opponent. A creature wielding a weapon that is hit by this attack loses any weapon they are holding unless they win a Resistance check against the character, and must take a turn to retrieve it if they want to continue using it. Requires Duelist OR Unarmed Fighter.


Knight (Passive) – The character gets a +2 bonus to AV, Dodge, all attacks rolls, and damage rolls for all melee attacks. Requires: Honorable.

Weapon Focus [Rapier] (Passive) – The character gets a +6 bonus on all attack rolls with a single weapon type. This can be selected multiple times, but each time it is with a different type of weapon. The weapon types are the same as those that can be selected with the Skill with (Weapon) Talent.

Specialized [Rapier] (Passive) – The character deals an additional +4 damage with the selected weapon type. This skill has the same stipulation for taking it multiple times as Weapon Focus. Requires: Weapon Focus with the selected weapon type.

*Charm: The character pays 6 EP and chooses one target creature within 20 feet of them. That creature must win a Resistance check against the character or gain the Charmed status.

Class: (Warrior)
Those dedicated to the practice of the martial arts, no matter their specific expertise, are known as warriors. The actual title of a warrior may vary a great deal, but from the masters of the sword from the Amazonian jungles, to the armored knights of the North, to the rogues who dwell in the back alleys of every major city, each and every one possesses their own specific skills and tactics.

The most important primary stat for all Warriors is Body. Their Resistance stat is dependent on it, and it’s the stat that generally determines how effective they are at hitting their target in combat, and determining how much damage they do when they hit.

Characters of the Warrior class are more skilled in combat compared members of other classes. A Warrior can choose a number of Skills at character creation equal to 1 + Body/10. This total always rounds down, so a character with 38 Body would get 1 + 38/10 = 4.8, which would round down to 4 free Skills. If their Body stat later increases so that they would qualify for an additional Skill, they can choose that additional Skill.

Race: Alraune
Though they themselves are not faeries, the fey adopted the sentient plants into their ranks. Alraune are the offspring born from a woman who has been impregnated by a shorn weed, and they themselves give birth to pods that eventually grow into more of the weeds if impregnated. Beings that they impregnate give birth to more alraune. They are all born with ancestral memories, giving them the ability to speak from the moment that they hatch, and they grow to full size in a matter of hours. They lack any real society of their own, but they do share a hive mind with other plant-like creatures that are nearby.

[RACE] Naturally Warped
The character was born with some degree of magic in their blood, but this doesn’t cause them to corrupt others. The character doesn't deal corruption to others unless they also have other mutations that would cause them to deal corruption, but they don’t take corruption from Warped creatures.

[RACE] Tentacles
The character has a number of tentacles that they can use for a variety of purposes. If used for penetration, the character deals and takes pleasure as if they were penetrating their opponent, and can impregnate as if they had a penis. In addition, group grappling rules no longer apply against the character unless the creatures that they are grappling with also have this Special Mutation. The character can, while in a grapple, attempt to grapple another creature so long as they win their grapple check for that round, but if they do, they also need to succeed on an attack roll against the targeted creature.

[RACE] Plant
The character is a plant. Their skin is naturally green and leaf-like, though additional specifics about their biology are up to you to decide. Characters with this mutation are immune to any effects that would damage or drain their EP. Whenever a character with this mutation would be impregnated, unless the creature impregnating them is an egg layer they give birth to seeds that eventually sprout into shorn weeds. Creatures that they themselves impregnate give birth to alraune seeds. Characters with this mutation gain the Pollen Shot Succubus Power, and are also immune to the effects of that power.

[RACE] Selective Fertility
The character can choose whether or not they have children. Whenever they could potentially become pregnant or impregnate another, they may apply either the Fertile or Infertile Flaw if they so desire.


Skills:
Trip (Activated) – The character can choose not do damage on a successful attack, and instead force the creature they’re attacking to make a Resistance check against them. If the creature loses this check, they are knocked prone. Against opponents who are Stunned, an attack made with this skill automatically hits, deals damage as normal, and the target automatically loses the Resistance check. Requires Unarmed Fighter.

Powerful Embrace (Passive) - The character is well versed in the art of the bear-hug. The character automatically deals 2d10 damage that ignores armor per round when in grapples when they're the dominant grappler (i.e. they've won the grapple check that round). Requires Grapple Expert.

Stranglehold (Activated) - The character chokes a bitch. When the character has something in a submission hold, they may forsake all other actions for that round in order to make a Resistance check vs the target. If the character wins, they deal the difference between the check in damage to the target's Resistance. When the target’s Resistance hits 0, they are knocked unconscious. Requires Grapple Expert.

Fling (Activated) - The character throws a grappled opponent, or perhaps ally, a short distance at another target. When the character has a creature in a submission hold, they may throw that creature at another creature for 3d6 + Body/3 damage to both targets. Both the creature being thrown and the one being hit must win a Resistance check against the character or be knocked Prone. This skill has a 15 foot range. Requires Grapple Expert.

Weapon Focus [Teeth] (Passive) – The character gets a +6 bonus on all attack rolls with a single weapon type. This can be selected multiple times, but each time it is with a different type of weapon. The weapon types are the same as those that can be selected with the Skill with (Weapon) Talent.

This Succubus Power can be taken up to 3 times.

*Charm: The character pays 6 EP and chooses one target creature within 20 feet of them. That creature must win a Resistance check against the character or gain the Charmed status.

Siren Song: The character can, at any time, cause all creatures able to hear them to focus solely on them. All affected creatures may make a Resistance check against the character to ignore this effect if they want to, and otherwise take a -10 penalty to Perception if they’re attempting to make a check against creatures using this ability. Using this ability takes up the character's turn.

*Pollen Shot: The character chooses one target creature within 10 feet. That creature must win a Resistance check against the character or become Horny, and even if they win this check the targeted creature still becomes Aroused if the attack hit. The character takes a -4 penalty on this check. This power can only be used once per combat. This Succubus Power cannot be selected, it must be gained through a mutaton.

I'd say if you were surprise attacked you would need to draw your weapon, so yes. But the skill also lets you change weapons without wasting a turn.

About feet or meters: Its more or less a flavor issue for me. I don't think there is any real reason to change it.

About Feint: The only downside I see for someone who fails using the skill is they miss out on their attack for the round.

They do not miss out on their attack, they attack with a -10 penalty to Attack, Damage and Dodge instead.

Rules changes:
-In the rules section, updated the "Combat" section, the "Perception" section, the "Corruption" section, and the "Powers" section to account for the rules changes that just went through. To those editing the blog, I'd suggest being lazy and just recopying the text over. Also Added the Psyker table into that post.
-Added Psyker to General Talents and Phobia and Hatred to Flaws.
-Added Fencer to the list of Duelist Skills.
-Altered Blood Sacrifice to allow fire mages to use it. Added Waterfall Meditation, Soul Synthesis, Fertility Ritual, and Contraception Ritual. I am officially out of room in the rituals post.
-Added Goblins, Merfolk, and Elementalkin to the list of races. Lycanthropes were added to the templates section, which is in the same post as Succubus Powers. The Races post is also out of room.
-Added Werecreature, Silverbane, Aquatic, and Mermaid's Kiss Special Mutations, altered the Corruptive and Immunity Special Mutations.
-Added Water Mirror to Water Spells (level 4)
-Altered the Buff section in the magic post to account for them being always based on a character's base Mind, and dispelling such buffs not getting any bonus to Resistance from themselves.

More Edits:
Increased the multiplied damage of Devil's Lightning by 2, it was a bit too weak for a power with only one option. The line effect of Dragon's Breath, which has numerous options, is 2d6 damage, or 2-12 damage per point of EP, while Devil's Lightning was 1d8 + 2, or 3-10 damage per point of EP. Now it's 5-12 per point of EP.

Sort of depends on context, I think. Though it's certainly hard to argue that someone's an idealist if they want to genocide the elves or something. >.>

Also, yon reminder: Potentially allow Alchemist talent to work as a requirement for the Lust Potion #09 and Create Potion rituals.

I.e. this

Ritual Requirements: Focus in Body OR Focus in Nature OR the Ranger Skill OR the Alchemist talent, the essence (hair, saliva, something else) of one (or more) characters.

Not mutually exclusive enough to put in a "no these two things at the same time" ruling, in my opinion. Idealistic + Hatred (scaryass Dragons that ate my village), or + Hatred (Su Ku Ta those fuckin' slavers why would you do that) seem valid character ideas to me, and since it's an RP flaw, it seems like a bad idea to get all restrictive with it, as it's sorta required to be flexible in how and why a character hates what.

So after thinking about it for a bit I decided to give Feint a bit of a change.


Feint - (Active) The character makes a Stealth check against their opponent. If successful the character automatically hits with their attack and ignores 5 AV. If unsuccessful the character still attacks, but accuracy, damage, and dodge are dropped by 10.

Idealistic + Hatred (scaryass Dragons that ate my village), or + Hatred (Su Ku Ta those fuckin' slavers why would you do that) seem valid character ideas to me, and since it's an RP flaw, it seems like a bad idea to get all restrictive with it, as it's sorta required to be flexible in how and why a character hates what.
Kind of a "I am a hugger of trees and a friend to all animals. Except you. You can go fuck yourself" vibe, then?

I've noted this privately to a few people, but I am incredibly stupid and am tempted to GM a thread for people who primarily want to test a character concept's (or character in play's) combat prowess.

It would be similar to mud wrestling (non-canon, or not remembered by the characters, however you want to look at it) and as such hosted in that forum. Characters would be dumped into a tower. Every floor, I will roll on a rollchart and determine the enemies that the character will face on that floor, increasing in basic difficulty on every floor. Upon successfully defeating all enemies on a floor, characters will regen a percentage of their HP, PP, and EP, this restore would decrease in potency for every floor ascended. This would continue for twenty floors or until the character was knocked unconscious or rendered helpless.

Occasionally, there would be special events (determined by the rollchart), which would include things like full heals. And, on the fifth, tenth, fifteenth, and twentieth floor, the characters would fight special NPCs or bosses that I've put together.

RP would be very light, most likely, largely single paragraph stuff related to combat. This is mostly a testing exercise intended to help me determine a few things as a GM and see what characters can do against a variety of monsters. I have no story planned beyond "the occupant of this tower has promised a wish to anybody who can reach them on the twenty-first floor" (note that this will not translate into any sort of prize in the main DG storyline). Smut would also be very light, and only related to creatures that rape a combatant into submission. Losing, regardless of how, will end in the character blacking out and ending up outside of the tower instead of defeat-rape. I have enough threads that require walls of text or deep thought as is. >.>

Groups would be a possibility, if desired, and games would be one at a time. They would not be first come, first serve. To tell the truth, I'm not even 100% that I'm going to do this, yet.

Things about that:

-3 is an odd number. DG is anti-odd number. -4 or -2 is the way to go, most likely -4 because of this next thing.

Races in DG are generally balanced to 0 (i.e. every talent requires a flaw or a sum of -8 in stat adjustments, every +8 in stat adjustments requires a flaw or a sum of -8 in stat adjustments, etc). With +12 in stats, -4 in stats, +24 in talents, and -32 in flaws, it's actually balanced to 0. But, with -3, it's 1 off (and also an issue because of the thing mentioned above).

It isn't exactly my envisioning of a bunny girl, but, beyond the things listed above, it fits guidelines. Although, apparently Tassadar has hit the character limit for the races post, so bunny girl aficionados will have to pursue either part demons or humans with racial mutations for the time being, it would seem. >.>
