Jack put his weapons in his pockets and sighed. He managed to get away before Roy blasted the figure, but he had a bit too much stress anyway. For now, Cynder was simply trying to calm down and not think about the incident, with little success.

"Him? You don't mean Metras? He died though." Mustang paused as he tried to remember details of that incident. "Wait...The soldiers who came back couldn't find a body, so there may have been a chance that he survived somehow and recovered." Mustang said this more to himself than the crowd.

"And you said he killed the Fuhrer? How did he manage that, Bradley was a-" Mustang cut himself off, remembering that he wasn't planning on sharing this information with any apart from those who needed to know it. Then he released that the Fuhrer was dead and no harm could come from others knowing the information. "Bradley was a homunculus, how the hell did Metras kill him?"

James, rather unsteadily, had moved over to where Kane's sword had been before it dissolved, looking down at the spot. "The sword he'd been working on, right before his death. It's possible that he'd finished it right before the strike team hit."

Jack, who somehow managed to nearly get over his shock, froze when he heard Mustang speak about the Fuhrer. "He was a WHAT?" It took Cynder about two seconds to realize that he said the sentence out loud, instead of just thinking it.

'Ugh... Me and my big mouth?'

Miranda had inched her way closer to James and the Colonel, but stopped dead when she heard Mustang's last sentence, "A Homunculus? The Fuhrer was a..." she whispered as she sank to her knees as if her legs had been cut.

"A homunculus," Mustang repeated himself, he didn't want to really explain it all at the moment. He then turned back to James. "But that doesn't explain how he'd still be alive. It would be a miracle for a State Alchemist to survive impalement in the temperatures Metras was working in. And if that didn't kill him no doubt my attack didn't do much either."

James met Mustang's gaze, and without any hestitation, he replied, "Sir, with all due respect, I don't think he did survive that impalement. One of Cynder's shots hit him in the face, and he didn't even notice it. He was rumored to have been working on darker things that were suspected, after all."

"What are you trying to say? That he too is a homunculus, or perhaps something worse?"

Max had been uncharacteristically quiet during the talk. He was actually hovering over one of the bodies of the soldiers that had attacked the group.

"I uh, I believe these men were dead before they attacked us," Max said to the group as he lifted up the mans arm and then let it go and watched as it dropped into the snow. "Yep, definitely dead before, alive when they attacked us and now dead again."

"Great, this pyschopath seems to have control over life and death itself." Mustang spat angrily, his day really isn't going all that well.

Throughout this, Sen has just been staring blankly trying to figure out what's happening as well as why everyone is jumping to conclusions that it was some guy named Metras doing it. Still, a few words float together and come out. So the thing we just fought was some sort of super homunculus?

James shrugged. "Whatever he's become, he's definately not human any more. I'm afraid that just right at the moment, I can't really make good guesses as to what m..." He trailed off here, and paused, as if he was about to say something he didn't mean to. He finished quickly, though. "Metras was doing that caused these changes, and his apparent control over the dead."

Miranda shivered despite the return if the heat, "But if Alchemy can't hurt him, how are we supposed to..." she trailed off, "Beat him?"

"That I don't know," Mustang said as he turned to face Miranda. "But, I will get to the bottom of this now that my workload has been cut through." The smallest of smiles could be seen on Mustangs face for a second but then it disappeared.v"Now that Bradley is dead I'd imagine they'll be looking for a new Fuhrer to lead this country." Mustang says as he turns to walk back to his temporary office. "Get some rest, you'll need it. Not only do we have to hunt down Metras if it truly is him but we've got another psychopath on the loose." Mustang then walks away.

Miranda took a deep breath and let it whoosh out, "He's right... Kimblee's loose..." She laughed a little hysterically, "Dead people walking, someone that alchemy won't work on, our fuhrer was a homunculus, and Kimblee's loose... we are so screwed."

Jack frowned. "Uh... Let's just go and get some rest... Okay?" he was pretty sure that his companion had lost it - or was quite close.

"Depends really. You can look at it like that, or, if you want, you can look at it as an opportunity." Max says as he checks over his gear to make sure nothing has been damaged.

James turned, as if he was about to head back. "Yeah, as I was repeatedly told growing up: 'Impossible only means that it hasn't been done before, and you'd better bust your ass if you want to get it done by tea time.'"

Miranda took another deep breath and then a third, "You're right. Sorry. Not much sleep combined with uselessness doesn't make a very attractive combination. Forgive me." She passed a hand over her face and then stood, her composure seemingly regained.

Cynder shook his head. "Anyway, it's not like we'll be sent anywhere without proper preparations. We have to learn what we're dealing with, and this'll buy us some time." Jack yawned. "This... Might be an opportunity, yeah."

"Then lets head back. I need to top up on my gunpowder capsules, it looks like I used the last of my current batch." Max waits for the others before he sets off.

James starts off, heading back. It would also seem like his nerves and skin were starting to return to normal.
