Re: School Courtyard

Siphon shook his head slightly.

"Charles for lack of a better term was a ... spirit of sorts that possessed Art's body. And do that Corax, however it may be best I'm not around for the first half of explaining why he's lost so much blood."

He turns to the other boy who helped to heal, and adds, "can you take over here? I must regenerate otherwise I'll do her more harm than good."

As soon as he has taken over, everyone present notices a sudden shift to Siphon as he draws back slightly, then suddenly takes off at inhuman speed, vanishing in a mere few seconds flat.

Aya blinked, startled.

"What the hell? How did he just do that?"

Re: School Courtyard

Jonathan watched the events that unfolded carefully, catching bits and pieces of the conversation as well. He understood none of it, but he was getting more and more suspicious. There was something unusual about this situation, and he was growing more and more curious. When Siphon performed his grand departure, Bird decided that he had enough. Common sense or tact be damned, he was going in. And he'd be damned if he failed to get answers. And even if others would try to attack him, he was certain that his ability would allow him to survive the experience. Jonathan began to walk towards the place where Aya stood. If he wasn't mistaken, she was the one responsible for the change in the air he felt earlier. As he approached, Bird decided to get her attention. "Pretty fast, ain't he?"

Re: School Courtyard

Aya turned to face the new comer and nodded.

"Yeah, I suppose so. Though I didn't know he was capable of that kind of speed. I don't recognize you, so you must be one of the new students, I'm Aya, you are?"

"Jonathan Bird. A new student, as you've said." Jonathan wasn't entirely sure what he should say. A direct approach would make him sound suspicious - after all, asking question like "Excuse me, do you know anything about someone who stopped time?" or "Hey, why is that guy over there dying?"... Actually, now that he thought about it, the second question was perfectly reasonable. Bird sighed. Well, now or never. "Say, that guy over there..." He pointed towards Art with his head. "He looks really bad. What happened to him?"

Aya shrugged slightly.

"I'm not entirely sure. How much of what went on here did you actually get to see, that will make some explanation a bit easier if I knew that."

"Sure, but I don't how much help I'll be witho- Son of a bitch."

Aloysius begins drawing more Eco, his last dose having run out. He kneels over Yume's body and begins healing her, before gesturing to Art.

"This guy. The one everyone keeps calling Art. Is he Artemis Wingate?"

Jonathan sighed. "Well, my day started with some rather... Odd things happening in town. Then, I've heard some sort of an explosion occuring around here. I've missed the event that happened here, but I saw the aftermath. Several people bleeding and that speedy guy trying to fix that corpse-to-be and others." Bird looked straight into Aya's eyes. "I'm guessing I've missed one heck of a party."

"You could say that. I don't fully understand what happened myself, but my understanding of it is some kind of spiritual possession happened here. There was a large fight, which I'm told is now over so ... I guess that's where things are now. I have this bad feeling though it isn't all over yet, a very bad feeling."

She turns to Coraxus and Sho and adds, "did either of you know he was capable of putting on speed like that? He just ... well he ran almost with demonic speed."

"Woah, hold on." Jonathan shook his head. "So, I'm guessing that the half-dead got posessed and went nuts, caused damage, then was taken down by the people here." Bird folded his arms across his chest. "And I suppose that there's more than one or two students here with unusual abilities, correct?"

Aya nodded.

"That's about accurate, and yeah, there's more than a handful let's just say that. I don't know how many exactly, or who all of them even are, but I know at least a few. Though ... in Siphon's case I've never seen him put on a burst of speed like that, it's not natural for him. I'm worried about him now."

"I don't suppose anyone could trace him right now." Jonathan sighed. "Anyway, what are you planning to do? I don't think I can help much, but if you want me to help out somehow, I'll see what I can do." Bird wasn't normally so generous towards strangers, but in this case, he decided to make an exception. He had a feeling it'd pay off.

Re: School Courtyard

"Easy, darlin'." Ian put a hand on Yume's shoulder, careful to keep his touch away from her wounds but doing his best to let her know help was close. He was mostly trying to make sure she wouldn't make too many sudden moves and aggrivate what Siphon had done to fix. He stays, too, as Aloysius comes over, moving enough to let him take a look. After this, he had a feeling he'd be helping the girl either back to the dorms or to the infirmary.

At the question, though, he nods. "Aye, that'd be Art. As if he weren't infamous enough around heah. This'll just add to it," he chuckles softly.

Sho's attention goes immediatly to Aya as the other girl puts attention on the now vanished Siphon. "I...what? What did he just...how?" She seems just as puzzled as the other girl. "No, I've never seen him do that before." Her attention seems to stay on where he retreated to, at least until Jonathan approaches. She mulls over going after Siphon but there was no telling where he'd run off to. If she had to guess, it would be the woods, but there were too many other loose ends still dangling here to go after him.

"Not real tracking, no. Maybe he just needed to let off some steam. We've got other things to worry about at the moment and if I know him, he'd be more concerned with the others than himself." As Jon asks what he can do, she glances around. "Well, unless you're good at patching people up, I'd say just help with damage control and us keeping a lower profile on the incident." From the causal way she's handling this, the dark-haired girl is likely special, too. Either that, or she's seen enough to not be freaked out by it.

Jonathan nodded. "I'm not much of a medic." That was true - Bird knew little about CPR and the like. "I can help with the things you've mentioned too. I wonder how you intend to cover up something like this, though." He took a look around to see if there was anything he could take care of. His main power was transformation, which Jonathan considered kinda unhelpful in the present situation. After all, it'd be best not to cause a bigger incident.

Re: School Courtyard

(Aloysius needs a nick name... >_> )

It's hard to tell much about Yume's state with her lying unconscious on her front like she was, but Aloysius' aid seemed to be helping. The nature of the wound might be pushing the limits of what his eco could normally heal effectively, but none the less it seemed to be working. Somehow she just seemed... easy to heal, her body soaking up the anima he provided happily. It might even be safe to move her soon.

Ellisia looked on, amazed the girl was breathing at all. She knew well from the wound, that the chances of someone surviving half as long as this were incredibly slim. She'd seen her around before but they'd never really met or talked, "Does anyone know this girls name?" she enquires to the group in general.

Ellisia had also been thinking of the exposure of this incident, and indeed she'd learnt quite a bit herself here. Perhaps she'd see if she could get Simon to share a few of his notes with her later, since she had no doubt that he'd have been taking some during this. There wasn't really anything she could have done to avoid exposing herself in this, and it wasn't as if she could have sat back and ignored it after all. At the moment they needed to get this wounded girl and the Wingate boy out of the courtyard, and perhaps clean up whatever they could before a crowd started gathering. There was going to be talk and rumours flying tomorow, no doubt about it, but tracking down Charles was the real concern. She would have to report this to her superiors. It was seeming as if she had found a new mission here.

Re: School Courtyard

A short while after Corax's phone call a whirring noise can be heard, faint at first though as whatever was making the noise got closer the sound grows louder until a black helicopter lands a little ways away from the group. Doing so to try to limit the amount of students who could spot the vehicle.

Several figures can be seen climbing out of the helicopter and then walk towards the group. As the figures get closer the group would be able to make them out to be an older woman who is a little over five foot with shoulder length wavy brown hair, probably mid to late forties and five nurses.

Spotting Art's body she rushes over to her son and kneels beside him. She raises her hands above him and they begin to glow with a blue-white light. She moves them over him for a moment before getting up. "It's worse than I thought," She begins, breaking from the sudden conversation to order her nurses to get her equipment. "I'll be able to save him, but for some reason..I'm not sure why, but I can't detect any signs of what makes a person...a person." Art's mother tries to explain what she means but this is an area that she's not too familiar with. "How do I explain this...With people normally there'd be something I'd detect, a soul for the lack of a better word, that I'd notice. But with Art even though he's still alive I don't detect what would normally be there." Her attention is then drawn to her nurses who arrive with various bags and pieces of equipment. "Right, I'm going to need one of you to carry Art to the infirmary so I can operate on him straight away. I'll need one of you to stay with me to fill me in on what happened and how he got a wound like that in his stomach. But first." Art's mother holds her hands into the air and they begin to glow, this time a dull earthern colour. The ground that had suffered damage during the battle slowly fixed itself and any tree's that were destroyed was pulled under the soil.

Re: School Courtyard

Ellisia steps forward upon hearing what Art's mother had to say about his soul. She frowns a little while she focuses her senses on Art. Ellisia hadn't noticed before, but now that someone had pointed it out, something was definitely missing. "I can do that. And your right. I can feel it too. Something's wrong." She says couching down to be ready to pick up Art. "I should be able to explain what's happened here."

She waits for the woman's approval, and if given so will carefully lift Art and follow.

Re: School Courtyard

((He does. It's Al. I'll probably start calling him that from now on.))

Al's eco runs out moments before Art's mother arrives. "I've done all I can for now. She seems to be stable. Easier to heal than normal, for some reason."

Al is in awe as Art's mother arrives. He seems honoured to be in the presence of such an accomplished Caster. He listens to her intently, and steps forward when she mentions being unable to feel a soul. "I- I don't feel anything either. Oh, I'm, uh... I'm Aloysius Marconi. I'm a caster too, sort of. I'm still only a novice."

Al seems somewhat lost for words and trails off. After she mentions operating on Art, he speaks out again. "I can help! I'm good at healing, sort of."

Corax also steps forward. "Can I assist in any way?"

Re: School Courtyard

Aya tilts her head for a moment before speaking up.

"You mean that the soul itself has left the body and ascended? If that were true his entire body would be gone, and we would have seen his essence rise out. No, something else is happening here."

She paused, then added, "I wonder if it has anything to do with that Charles thing that possessed him? I mean, he wanted all of us dead, it makes sense he'd try to destroy Art as well since we defeated him ... well, you guys did, I'm not sure I was much help to be honest."

She turns to Elissia and adds, "you were here, what the hell happened to Siphon? I almost got the sense that ... well, it may sound stupid, but I almost got the sense that he's changed somehow, and isn't paired anymore. What happened?"

Re: School Courtyard

Ellisia raises an eyebrow a little at Aya's comment on ascension, a strangely exotic thing to consider. There were plenty of ways for a soul to separate from a body without ascending. Ellisia was no expert by her peoples standards, but if his soul had been separated she knew two things were important. Ensuring the body retained enough basic life force so not to die, and reuniting Art's soul before it might come to harm or drift further from the material plane. She was going on hope that the nature of Art's eviction from his body would mean he hadn't simply 'passed over' quite yet. To Ellisia this was like any other medical matter, albeit a potentially difficult one with high stakes.

If Art's mother expresses concern over the mention of her son being possessed Ellisia nods to confirm it. She then turns to speak as Aya addresses her. "I can't say I know. He was hit by a vicious attack, and when he got back up he was different. He seemed severely shocked himself. You saw the claws and the way he moved yes? It's nothing I've seen before."

Re: School Courtyard

Jonathan at first didn't trust the people who came out of the helicopter, but he relaxed when it turned out it was someone the other students knew. He listened to the conversation with interest. Bird didn't believe in things like soul, but since several people agreed that something was wrong with this Art person, he had to accept their explanation. His attention quickly turned back to Aya when she mentioned another name. Charles. Who was that guy?

"Hey..." Jonathan spoke to Aya. "Sorry to interrupt, but who's Charles? And why is he so eager to maul the lot of you?" The theory of a madman trying to kill a group of supernaturals was quickly thrown out of the window. After all, the bastard posessed someone. Was it a grudge? Bird really wanted to know. Information like this was always useful.
