"Actually," Alexis says taking a step back, "I dropped it when one of those... things got loose... so uh..." After stammering for a second while trying to think up a story, Alexis finally says, "So, if you could take me up to the next floor... my boss could vouch for my ID." She put on her cutest smile while hiding the metal rod behind her back and trying to make herself look harmless.

The man looks at the girl in front of him with a strange look. "Those things just don't attack random people, they've been programmed who are employees. I would assume that you know that though..." the man looks hard into Alexis's eyes and she tries not to back down. "But, I suppose that it could always have malfunctioned. I need to go now." He smiles at the girl and then heads north through the hallway, pulling a two-way radio out as he does so.

As soon as the man is out of sight, Alexis slumps against the wall and sighs. "I can't believe that worked," she mumbles. After a few second, Alexis travels down the hall to west, eager to find the way out of this place.

Looking at the door, Alexis grimaces. 'Every time I go into a room, something attacks me' she thinks, before continuing west down the hall."

Alexis continues her journey down the hallway, wondering why it seems that it took her so long to move. She comes across a doorway to her north while noticing the hallway continuing to her West.

After finally making her way further down the hallway, Alexis sighs as she sees another door. "Not even gonna worry about it," she mutters, setting off west once again.

She continues westward down the hall until she comes across the end. She looks to her north and sees another doorway, while the hallway appears to continue to her south. There is little different in thei hallway, apart from wood molding instead of the green tile.

Giving the door a suspicious glance, Alexis turns and heads south, sure that the hallway must lead to the way out.

She turns southward, taking in the nice wood paneling. She wonders why a basement would have such nice looking panels, and in her thought she nearly trips over an aluminum baseball bat. Looking at it and her metal rod, she debates over which weapon to take. The hallway continues South.

Although the rod has been good to her, Alexis can't help but notice the bat is bigger and heavier and will probably hurt whoever she swings it at more. She leans the rod against the wall, then grabs the bat before continuing south down the hall.

Alexis continues southward, hoping to find the stairwell as soon as possible. She gets her wish. There is a door to her south that says "Upper Levels" on a sign above it. There are a few bags of random things near the door, but otherwise the hallway is still barren.

Psyching herself up, Alexis breathes a few times and gets a firm grip on the bat. At the last flight of stairs she had been attacked by that slime thing, but she had managed to get away from it. 'This time I'm ready,' she thinks to herself as she walks into the stairwell, eyes constantly shifting for anyplace that a slime creature could come from.

Much like the last stairwell, the door slams behind her after she enters. She jumps instinctively at the slamming sound. Looking around for the slime she expects, she hears a mechanical humming coming from the top of the stairs. Peering through the darkness, she sees two metallic robots that are shaped much like giant spiders. Both close in on Alexis, but neither attack initially.

(Two enemies are treated like one as far as combat is concerned)

It is pretty obvious to Alexis that the two robots will attack her the same way the robot from before did, so she decides to take the initiative. Doing her best to run up the stairs, she uses her momentum to swing the bat low, trying to hit the closer robot from underneath.

Alexis swings at the first robot, bounding up the stairs as she does so. She clips the first robot under it's carriage, knocking it's legs out from under it. She turns backward just in time to see it topple down the stairwell and smash onto the ground at the bottom. She notices that pieces are flying off of it and what she can only assume is hydraulic fluid is leaking from hoses on it's top.

Alexis gives a slight laugh as she watches the robot tumble down the stairs. The sound of whirring motors reminds her that the other robot is still in pristine shape, and she turns to use the bat on it, a strong overhead swing intended to crush it.

Alexis turns to the second bot. She swings a long overhead swing, hoping to disable this one quickly. Her bat connects with the top in an explosion of sparks. The bot shudders under her attack and it retreats up a few stairs away from the girl.
