Because Gangrel was the only clan where the antediluvian wasn't stuck up enough to name the clan after itself.

Also, Set was also known as Sutekh and Seth, however dont let a Settite hear those terms or he'll kill you.
Brujah's "antediluvian" was Troile (diablerized his/her sire, who's name was either [Brujah] or Iylles)
Salubri antediluvian (pre-diablerie into Tremere) was known as Saulot, or Xao Lut, depending on who you ask.
Clan Cappadocian (pre-diablerie into Giovanni) had it's leader called Ashur, though this is not a name, but a title.
Ravnos' antediluvian was Zapathura, or Dracian, or [Ravnos], again due to the text differences.
Tzmisce was given the title "The Eldest", and sometimes is called Loz or [Tzmisce]
Nosforatu antediluvian is called Absimilard.
Err... point being, most clans ARE NOT named after their founder.
He is also called Assam, Hassam, Haquim, or [Assemite], depedning on what text you read.

Fair enough. Now what this tells me is that he didn't name the clan after himself, someone else who was unfamiliar with middle eastern culture did it for him XD

Ah cool, I didn't know most of those as the texts I was using didn't really give names for them. Except for Sutekh and Seth, I knew those two. The one joke thread kept calling nos Ralph though, which in my opinion is better than Absimilard. I'm guessing Brujah being diablerized is why there is a clan called "True Brujah" then.

The Trujahs are more of a bloodline than an actual clan. That, and they tend to not like to get on that they're actually True Brujah. I'd honestly have to look up more information on them, but they tend to follow the more original tennets of the clan, being the warrior scholars of back in the day rather than the punks and malcontents of the future.

Depending again on the text you read, True Brujah is both a clan and a bloodline.
According to ONE source, True Brujah was renown for his composure, makeing it very difficult for him to frenzy, but also difficult to associate with others. He embraced Troile for [her?] passion and capacity for emotion. This was his only childe, but when he confided in her about doubts he had about embracing her, Troile attempted to diablerize the sire.
The success of Troile is doubted, but the effect is that Caine cursed Troile to never be as powerful as the time-bending True Brujah, and the "clan" was given the curse of their ever-passionate new founder. The Curse has started to wear off in modern nights though, and some Brujah of a "bloodline" can learn Temporis instead of Celerity.
But this is Very. VERY. Rare.
