Re: Possible Remake of Jungle Girl

I really don't mind hearing everyone's ideas because I feel completely comfortable ignoring them all if I don't like them.:D
Dammit, Hettie, quit saying stuff that makes me like you even more! >:[

I... I don't understand it. Why would they send out spam bots, only to have them post messages that... don't make any sense? ;__;

Re: Possible Remake of Jungle Girl

Maybe once this game is finished, we can revisit it for an updated version with more additions, but I don't even want to think about it right now since the risk of getting bogged down in details is too high.
This.

Frankly, I don't care if the blocking animations make any sense or not. All I'm looking for is a simple remake of JG with updated graphics. I don't see much point in all this debate when the simplest version hasn't even really been started (since Nunu has continued to ignore repeated requests of a status update, I'm assuming he hasn't begun any work on the code).

I think that he has, based on what I've read/heard here. Keep in mind through that coding is a little harder to go through and describe than the animation progress, and also that due to coding being non-visible, he won't have specifics to show us, so it would be more him translating code-writer talk into normal talk for those of us who aren't heavy on computer lingo.

On the other hand, this is why I'd asked about the Shinobi Girl esque "Demo" 0.1 version for trying, but with all of the necessary ideas already fleshed out, the question becomes how much more work could it be to do that in addition to building the whole game.

So apparently, the only way for us to stay on topic is to debate over the game, which we shouldn't do due to demoralization factors for the makers of the game, or we can constantly gush over the progress on the game, which we only do when we get updates from Hettie, and only when there are actual updates, which the programmer can't provide due to trying to keep us on topic, hence we go off topic with nothing to talk about.

Vicious cycle much?

Beats talking about some hotel game, huh? Anyway, I love the graphics update. I have little to no qualms over it. It's actually an improvement. Keep up the good work! :3

Easy for you to say, you're used to being tied up.

And UK, I think it goes without saying that everyone is gushing about Hettie's and Nunu's awesome work ^.^

Keep in mind that I am a game designer, and have designed several over the course of the past few years, and I can tell you that status updates are very easy to give people. Such things like "I've made the title screen" and "I've made the background scroll with JG walking animation" are extremely easy to convert into non "code-writer" talk, as you put it. As in, there is no conversion necessary.

I was not aware of this fact (I think, it's after midnight on a school night so I may have just forgotten). I meant a visual showing of the work - it's not like he can post all the new coding and have us look at it and we go "wooooow, look at all the attention to detail!" cause most of us would look at it and say "wow, you did a lot of work!" and in our heads go "...wtf does this all mean?! THERE! ARE! FOUR! LIGHTS!!!"

Which, I am hasty to point out, is again, not a status update, and in my experience when people avoid status updates, they are embarrassed about their lack of progress.
