Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Holi follows Carella into the cave looking at the floors, ceilings as well as the rest of the room. While drawing his axe from it's sheath.

Trex glances around, then says; "Alright, Aramil take Granth and Mallacet and go look for that stash, if you haven't found it in an hour, and we haven't come up, come after us, we might have gotten lost." And with that, he and Bolm follow Holi and Carella into the entrance of the cave. The temperature drops off sharply as you proceed further, and Bolm and Trex bring up magical light. The illumination reveals a muddy floor with many boot tracks and rough stone walls. There is only one low passage, sloping gently downward.
Trex says; "Holi, you lead, Bolm stay close enough behind him that you can see him."

Carella momentarily puts her potion down as she looks around, she would rather not get ambushed at the time like this.

Just don't use of all the fun in there before we get back. Granth announces before heading west.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

(You're with Trex and company in the cave.)

The group splits, most heading into the passage down the cave. Holi leads, followed by Bolm, Carella, Tod, and Trex in back. The passage narrows slightly, and the ceiling lowers so that Trex has to lower his head.
The other group, led by Aramil with Malacet and Granth proceeds back into the wood looking for disturbed ground, or anything else out of the ordinary.

Holi takes the lead down the passage, making sure to keep a sharp eye out for any unusual stonework. He also tries to keep track of how deep they're going.

(How narrow a passage are we talking, just wondering if I should switch to a smaller weapon)

"So about how far is it to what's marked on the map?" Malacet asks, managing to sound both bored and alert at the same time.

Looks around while remaining quiet, not wanting to alert any potential dangers.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

(Group1: Trex, Bolm, Carella, Holi, and Tod. Group2: Aramil, Granth, and Malacet.)

Aramil, shrugging; "It's an orc drawn map, unreliable at best, but based on the distance we went along the road, about 50 paces (Read: roughly 150 feet.)" He leads his small group into a dense thicket, searching for anything out of the ordinary. "It should be somewhere in here. Spread out, shout if you find anything, or you get into trouble." From his tone, he doesn't consider either particularly likely.

1d20+11+2 = 7+11+2 = DC21 vs DC24
1d20+2 = 12+2 vs DC24
1d20+2 = 8+2 vs DC24

The group spreads out, but none of them find anything after the first few minutes.

While this goes on above, the group in the caves travels down the passage as it goes straight, until it's only about 5 feet wide and 6 feet high. Holi keeps an eye out for secret doors or traps as he leads the group, but as of yet none have presented themselves. The tunnel turns a sharp right just up ahead, and there is a dim light coming from that direction, but no sounds.

Malacet slowly wanders the area, finding nothing of interest. She does take the opportunity to relieve herself behind some bushes, however.

"There be a dim light up ahead," Holi says in a whisper to Bolm behind him while continuing down the passage. He continues to watch for any unusual stonework, while quietly leading the group towards the bend and the dim light.

Geh, well that was useless. Are we going to have to go over this ground once more or do we get to go back to the others?

Looks up at the dwarf, "Do you wish for me to scout ahead...?"

"Aye go ahead, you can move a lot more quiet than I." Holi says to Carella.

(You do realize you're taller than me, don't you.)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Aramil simply says; "Keep looking, if we haven't found it in an hour, we'll head into the cave."
(The longer you look, the more likely you are to find it, hence the additional +2.)
1d20+11+4 = 5+11+4 = 20 vs DC24
1d20+2+2 = 18+2+2 = 22 vs DC24
1d20+2+2 = 18+2+2 = 22 vs DC24

You look for another twenty minutes or so, but still find no sign of the orcs treasure.

1d20+4 = 18+4 vs DC14 = quiet
1d20+3 = 11+3 vs DC10 = spot

Carella pads forward silently and slips around the corner. As soon as she does, she spots the two humanoids standing in the center of the room next to two large rectangular boxes. The light is coming from a lantern hanging above them from the ceiling. They look like orcs, but closer inspection reveals the many wounds covering them, one has its arm twisted into an odd angle, the other has garish wounds covering its chest with large amounts of dried blood, and both have familiar holes in their necks. Zombies.

1d20+13 = 9+13 = 22 vs 1d20-4 = 22 vs 0 = Successful hide (Dumb zombie rolled a 2.)

She immediately ducks out of the light behind a lip in the wall, and the stupid zombies don't even register the movement, even though they're staring right at the passageway she's in.

Granth sighs and keeps looking. He would prefer something less tedious, even just hiking somewhere would be better because he would have to keep looking at the same place over and over.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Carella ducks back to the group and points, whispering quietly, "Zombies..."
