Basically wanted to get this out there not only for all the people who own hentai blogspots for their H-games they're making, but also for people who follow said blogs to alert them if they don't know about the change so they have time to find other places to setup (and so you don't lose track of where they're going to continue updating).

Right, but there may be some people who;

1) Don't check the email they used to register their blogspot account with, ever
2) Didn't get the email because their own spam settings sent it straight into spam

etc.

Re: Blogspot removing all Hentai blogs

Looking over the message, it doesn't state specifically that any blogs in violation of the new rules will be deleted or removed.

It 'does' say that they'll be rendered 'private' and thus only viewable by the authors and those they've specifically shared the blog with.

Still pretty much means that it vanishes from the public eye.

Well good thing Blogspot can follow tumblr posts and such. Honestly if they deleted every used I follow on blogspot I wouldn't really have much of an use for it anymore.

Re: Blogspot removing all Hentai blogs

Im pretty sure it affects actually nothing from how they have the thing worded. It just means that a random person will not be able to go to blogger and then view a random blog and end up on yours if it is flagged private. However, if I put a link to a specific page and someone were to click on it and go there, it would work perfectly fine.

Then again I could not be reading it right, since it does not directly have an effect on me.

you have to mark people as readers and they have to log in every time, killing exposure

The way I interpreted it is that it is going to be difficult to access such material on blogspots.

Their wording at the start of the email, "we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit... etc." is very forthright.

Taking this introductory sentence into consideration when we look at the action they state they will take suggests that it's gonna be extremely difficult for developers on blogspot to attract new viewers.

"No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content that we've made private."

I could be wrong, this is just my interpretation, but it seems like the adult blogs could become 'shared' like Google Docs without the 'public' option. The nightmare scenario is that you would have to enter individual emails of users that you want to see your content.

Does anyone know if this policy could negatively affect adult blogs on Google search results?

"Only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog"

So basically you would have to have direct links, yes, but no one is going to be able to access the direct links for any new posts to the blog, unless they post those direct links on forums, thereby

killing exposure

Wait, not even if they follow said author on blogspot? What kind of crap is this? This has existed for so long, why put such a block now all of a sudden? /sigh

I swear this society seems to be going backwards. No matter how much these prudes think that anything related to sex is keeping humanity in the middle ages, it's the exact opposite...

They are baiscally trying to remove real pornography, but anyone who read the damn mail would realize that artistic porn (aka games) could be unaffected by this. Of course I am not offering a legal opinion on this, but I think its a whole big much ado about nothing.

Kind of like how someone got all scared that his income was going to go back to $0 when patreon was going to cut off all the pron stuff right?

Re: Blogspot removing all Hentai blogs

Honestly, after reading the e-mail, a lot of it sounds pretty vague. There's a lot of "may"s thrown in there. Besides, as long as you don't have actual pictures/screenshots or whatever, you could still use it for development updates or something.

"sexually explicit" or "graphic nude images or video". Artistic = value on artistic merit alone where sexuality is not the primary function of the visuals. It includes hentai, lol.

note that I got it and I have only hentai on mine, sooo yeah, it's hentai.

True, but a lot of what people like to update with IS images/screenshots to show visual progress, etc.

Re: Blogspot removing all Hentai blogs

When will you understand that it was a chain letter sent to probably a grand total of literally everyone that has their blogs flagged for mature content?

I have a blog and flagged it for mature content.

Want to know what is on that blog?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Guess who got a letter too.. thats right. I did.

It wasn't a chain letter, it was an announcement of a policy change.

It doesn't really matter how many people it got sent to. What matters is that the rules of the game are changing in some way, but none of us are sure exactly how.

There's slightly more information over here for anyone wanting to know more. As with the email though, they're very vague:

Re: Blogspot removing all Hentai blogs

So what alternatives left are there besides tumblr? I've been interested in starting h-dev for a while but not if those who follow me have to have an account just to see if I updated.
