I'm making a Furry game! (Or trying to anyways!)

Howdy everyone,

I hope this is the right place to post this, apologies if not!

I've been a lurker on this site for some years now, mostly the Games section, and about a year ago decided to have a go at creating my own RoR platformer type game with Furry characters, being one and all that, and I've gotten enough sprite work done and thought about it enough to feel like I can let people know about it and see what the kind of interest in this would be!

Forgive me also, I'm really not sure about Forum etiquette, but what with this place being what it is I'm going to post some of the adult stuff I've got going for it.


That Spoiler has images of sex and such, so bare that in mind!

Basically its going to be quite similar to Parasite in City, a game I love that really got me into the idea of doing one myself; that and Kyrieru, who really rocks as a developer; hopefully I'll be able to get the same kind of flow he does!

I'm using Game Maker, first time use so I'm thinking of putting out a much simpler game first to get used to the basics, aand... that's about all I can think of to say about it currently!

Any questions, or advice, or constructive criticism, or anything like that would be very welcome; I'm a real newbie when it comes to this and am really just using my love of sprite work to prepare everything for when coding comes along!

Oh and another thing I should mention, I'm working toward a demo that will be released 'when it's done' as 3D Realms would say, and unless there's like a demand for it or something I don't want to work on a Patreon system; Shareware FTW!

WTF!!! where have you been hiding this at? if you can take the art your showing and turn it into a function game I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be good.

Oh thanks very much Major! Sorry, it didn't message me that you'd responded!

I hope I can get this put into at least a prototype stage to put up, give people an idea of what I'm going for; I've got some ideas for mechanics to add to the typical RoR style platformer, if people seem interested in it I'll give people all the ideas I've got for it! ^^

Its not something I'm personally that into, but I can certainly see putting it in if there was enough demand for it! There are definitely ways to put it into the lore of the plot, if need be ^^

Thanks KiWolf! I'll be interested to learn the programming of GM, and I'm thinking of all genres of game to make in that program, a Platformer will have the most advice and tutorials! XD

Forgot to mention i really like the animation style, the art is nice, big fan of ryona, and furry makes it all better for me. When its furry, its much easier for me to accept fetishes outside my usuals.
edit also am i insane or wasnt there also a feral rat animation example there?

Yup! I'm not going to be too lore friendly in terms of why some creatures are anthro and others aren't to make more room for fetish material xD I'm a fan of creature rape and I've already got the giant Rat and the feral Dog well under way; I won't be putting too many in for fear of making similar or interchangable animations but I plan for a Slug, a Cockroach, a regular swarm of Rats and basically anything I feel fits into the setting; I'm toying with a dreaded underwater section actually so there may be some water based fun there too ^^

I feel the same about Furry stuff myself actually; I've always thought that if I hadn't seen the fandom and been able to look at pictures of males going at it without that whole 'I'm looking at gay porn' stigma you're taught in early teen years, I'd have a lot more issues with stuff today!

...Then again I suppose I'm saying this on ULMF while making a RoR game so perhaps it didn't steer me in quite the direction I like to think XD

Oh I mentioned the rat because everytime I click spoiler it seems there are different animations. Now I see a male rat raping her instead of the female one that was fingering her but last time the feral rat wasnt there.

Do you have an FA page or somewhere you put the rest of your art? Also I hope you are the kind of artist who draws feral "equipment" plz

Hey Everyone, a small update on my progress of the game!

Nothing much, but I've pretty much completed the bare-bones (ha) of the dog animation, which I will present to you here:


sorry for the white background, I've been finding it a bit of an annoyance myself when trying to see what the cum looks like in animation, but if you're a user of FurAffinity where I post this stuff you'll be able to see it properly as they have darker backgrounds xD

right now I'm working on finishing up other animations to this kind of level, and also I'm beginning to draw up texture tiles for backgrounds and such; god knows when it'll be at the level of putting out a demo but I'm certainly working toward it hard as I can!

Wow, thanks Azurezero! I must admit I don't really know the general consensus on furry stuff in adult games, but I figured with things like Mitsuko X being quite popular it was worth a shot xD

That's certainly true, but the mouse/cat girls face is more human shaped than this wolf(?) girl. still, I think you'll impress with the quality

great animation, it has feeling and life to it that even a lot of really good h-animators lack when doing feral animation. the dog looks like it actually wants it and puts force in. this is such a good style for a game

Ta very much! It took many caffeine filled nights to do xD

Small update also, was delving into the background-making portion of the game and made a little mock-up of the game as I hope it'll look when at demo stage:


Just an image of course sadly, but if I can get to using this as a test room it'll help a lot in the progress toward the demo in a number of ways!

So that's the progress for now, making a pool of assets to use for decoration and level making, then most probably finishing off Amber's (PC) move set to account for stuff like climbing ledges, swimming, air-attacks etc.

Will post more progress when something of note is accomplished!

Same goes to you too! I'm glad people are looking forward to it regardless of the specific style; it was a worry for me at first, but I figured going with what I knew would be better!

Thanks again everyone, and sorry to the first two for not getting back to this for so long, think I've got my email notification switched off or something of that nature.

I must just say, I'm really happy and grateful at the response this has received so far; as a few people have said now, Furry isn't really everyone's thing and understandably so, and I think that reflects in the content we've got here, in gaming terms anyways. With that in mind I thought this might not really receive any attention when I decided to post, but with how nice everyone has been and the encouragement I've been given from people who know these games best, I'm even more driven now to put out a game that will (with luck!) live up to expectation

With that said I wanted to also assure people, while we're on the subject; it is going to be Furry, yes, but a lot of this game is going to be using the more commonly seen and less... specific scenarios one might see in some furry art, for example. Stuff like Inflation, or Blank Blood type ryona, or... I dunno, scat or stuff like that, won't be making an appearance in this game.

I plan to have a wide variety of enemies, some humanoid, some not, but any sex you'll be seeing in the game is going to stick with the plot of the game and not be there just for the sake of a specific fetish. Not that I'm not open to suggestions!

To conclude, I've mish-mashed several animations together to show some of the work in progress animations currently being worked on; SFW, these are just some of the basic movements of the player. Enjoy!
