I am Dxasmodeus. I normally hang out over at Futanari Palace and Hentai Foundry, but I am looking to expand a bit. I have lurked here for a few years and I feel that this may be a good place to let folks sample my game. I have written for five years and I have been a contributor to both Fenoxo's Corruption of Champions (Giacomo's events, the TF2 gag encounter and the infamous worms) and Oncardam's Redemption of the Crimson Empress.(sex scenes and the comic)

I have also written several short stories and one novel, which are now on Hentai Foundry.

With that brief bit of background out of the way, I would like to present my currently unnamed Silent Hill game for everyone to try out. I have been working on this since May and, although I consider it an Alpha build, is in a playable state with around ~2-3 hours of gameplay.


This project will be an original story set in Silent Hill and other locations inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. It follows the story of a confused, middle aged woman who is caught in the mindbreaking horrors of Silent Hill and faces the depraved machinations of a mysterious woman who takes gratification in violating patients and the laws of nature. The heroine must both embark on a quest for self discovery all the while surviving the hazards of Silent Hill and the plots of the masked antagonist.


Features:
  • A deep, immersive and original story set in the Silent Hill cosmology
  • A focus on exploration and discovery, rather than combat or other distracting game mechanics.
  • Multiple endings and multiple story branches.
  • Opportunities for pursuing or resisting corruption.
  • A sanity meter to gauge how much mental strain the player may continue to endure.


Fetishes include futanari, tentacles, abominations, humiliation and corruption.

While I do not expect too many people to be familiar with my work, those who may be should know that I write very deep stories with slow buildup to all of the scenes. All of my works emphasize "porn with a plot."

I have attached some screenshots for those who are interested. The screen shots come from the original Alpha build whereas I am much further along in the project, now.

I am hoping that folks here will play the game and relay some hones, constructive criticism. First and foremost, I am a writer. I cannot draw or illustrate well at all. As much as I would LOVE to add graphics to what I have already done, it is beyond my skills. This is also why I consider the project an Alpha; it really needs original art to see true completion.

Because I am a writer, not an artist, there will be no original artworks to help illustrate the story. Talented artists who are interested in this project and want to alleviate this deficiency are more than welcome to talk to me. I have no problems adding names to the credits. However, I am a stickler for detail and forewarn any potential collaborators that I can be very…demanding.

With that said, here is the current version of the project for the members here at ULMF to try out. I do not know how appealing my work will be to the membership here, but I am at least comfortable enough to let everyone sample this to see what people think.

I quite like how this game works, tough there is some minor problems......

When you look at the Doctor's Log, some line was too long, causing some words drifted into half blank.

Information of Door reaction wasn't noticable, should be ask player to watch it in inventory at first.

Some color between the wall and items arn't big enough to be noticable, I had been walking pass some key items serveal times before I starting to press z to every tile in every room.

The warmer(or the oil heater) can be walk on by player, it should not be happening.

May I suggest that please put events for furntures? I like to check desk and seat and plants to explore rubbish informations.(Just like those cabinet after you take items, but be empty all the time.)

I am aware of that bug. I will get to it in a subsequent patch. It is not that high on my priority list at the moment.

I do not quite understand exactly what you are trying to say. Could you be a bit more specific?

Flavor text for useless searches is something I will deal with once this goes to beta.

I do not quite understand exactly what you are trying to say. Could you be a bit more specific?
I notice that there is currently lack of forcing people to read the message of door reaction(A.k.a. How to open the sideway door.) at the opening, or where is the info note put at. You might want to show people how/where to read that.

Page 1 of the Game Notes, which is in the player's inventory by default at the start of the game, states that the player's feet must be lined up with sideways doors.



You can somehow do a mask thingy to make the item alittle bit lighter or having different color, I've seen some japenese game did that before, just wasn't for RMVA.
I have already tried some lighting and masking scripts and they interfere with the ability to show the map. If you know of a script that can do what needs to be done, but won't interfere with current effects, I am open to suggestions.

The password is futanaripalace. Are you certain that you are entering it exactly as shown? I just tested the file and the password works correctly.

I had to change it to a regular zip file to get it to accept the password.:eek:

I have had some folks talk to me about it, but I am considering revising the sewer maze. If anyone has anything good or bad about that section of the game, feel free to speak up.

Also, both here and on FP, folks have expressed problems with the first major puzzle; the morgue code. While the answer posted here is correct, the idea is to get the player to pay more attention to the clues that he or she is reading. The branching in the story will be dependent upon the ability to observe. I have worked with several ways to try and integrate some combat, but I have not liked the results and, as of right now, I am planning to keep combat to a minimum and somewhat scripted. I want it to matter where it needs to, but I do not want it to detract from the story.

As an update, I am working on some plot points for the next major section of the game, which introduces a new character into the plot. At the very least, I want to have the next major update done by Thanksgiving and maybe one more major release before Christmas.

I'll be honest, the maze I just powered through it by trial and error, but it was really late so I was tired and didn't want to think about the clue. The morgue code I did get it by myself, I don't remember now what hinted to it but as long as one reads I don't think it was that hard. I think you have been very clear what this game's about so you shouldn't really try to change it unless it's because of technical issues.

As a Lovecraft fan, player of Call of Cthulhu, etc, I know combat is pretty much useless unless it's against other people and sooome minor monsters (and not always =P) so I'm not to worried about the game not having enough. I can understand people no used to it though, but as long as you evoke the feeling of futility and hopelessness it should be ok. And if some don't like it...well...the game is not for them. Not every D&D player like to play COC :rolleyes:

I was hoping to have a new version out before Christmas, but i doubt I will be able to do that. I have some other things going on right now that are in the way of working on this project. I am compelled to go on hiatus until I have more time to work on this game.

Update: I am currently reviewing portions of the game to revise and patch. I have already changed the Sewers entirely as, in retrospect, the sewer maze sucked. I am also working on the next major section of the game, which explores another major NPC's issues. I do not have an ETA for the next release, bit I will try to get it out as soon as I can.

I remember I played this like half an year ago. But I'm certain I didn't get it from here. So yeah, nice to see it here too.

I quite enjoyed the creepy vibe it gave that's for sure. I also liked the very slow corruption choice you gave.

And you say you started it in May? I remember playing it almost all night, so it definitely seemed that it had quite a bit of content.

Definitely looking forward to what's next!
