About:
Monster Girl Quest: Paradox is a trilogy of H-RPGs with a male protagonist. It's the third game quite similar to its predecessor, for Luka is the protagonist, there will be a Monsterpedia, several monsters and characters from the original trilogy will return and there will be rape-on-loss. Notable differences include the game being an RPG-styled game created with RPG Maker, instead of a visual novel made in Nscripter; the player will be able to directly move around and interact with things rather than skimming through long lines of text; other characters may join Luka on his journey (such as Ilias); and many of Luka's choices have a drastic impact in later parts of the game.

Courtesy of Umbraunt:
It has surprisingly complex combat for a hentai JRPG, featuring a Dragon Quest-style job mechanic, a secondary Race system with similar upgrades, and character-specific Traits allowing them to equip job-locked skill types as well as boosting specific types of actions. Characters have the standard HP and MP, but also SP; SP regenerates when you Defend during combat and is mainly for physical skills, while some actions use both MP and SP. Your party consists of two sets of four characters each, and the first 4 are thrown into combat by default; anyone in the backline can be switched for anyone out front between turns, and the backline receives full EXP. There are loads of different equipment options, including a synthesis system to upgrade and fuse equipment, and many jobs/races teach passive skills, which can be equipped up to a specific capacity within each category.

It's got a huge world map with standard 4-directional grid-based movement, with plenty of hidden/unlockable locations and multiple modes of travel. There are also many skills across various jobs (and items) that can be used outside of combat for various types of utility, such as teleportation to discovered towns and unlocking different types of locked treasure chests. There are a multitude of sidequests and plot threads to follow, and almost every non-boss monster (and NPC with a unique portrait) is recruitable - some through battle, some through sidequests, and others in some weirder manners. There's a LOT to do, and the game isn't even finished yet - at present, the final Part 3 is slated for a 2020 release, while the fan team translating it last estimated they'll release Part 2 in English later this year (2019).

Story:
Luka finds himself dreaming about Goddess Ilias, who tries to warn him of some upcoming threat. However, her body begins to fade, distorting her message. Luka wakes up and ponders about a Great Disaster 30 years prior caused Ilias to seemingly disappear, then writes in his diary about his dream before leaving to be "baptized" and setting off on his first journey to find his father Marcellus.

Upon leaving his Mother's Inn, Luka finds that Ilias Village is in panic because Hans, the village lumberjack, was kidnapped and taken to the Slime Girl Village to the North. Luka leaves and heads straight there, fighting through the hostile Slime Girls before hearing a large explosion. Upon heading to the source, he finds a young angel who reveals herself to be a younger-looking Ilias. Luka doesn't believe her and in response she attempts to punish him with Thunder of Judgement, however the attack only lightly shocks him; Ilias is confused until she conjures a mirror with her magic, and discovers she is now in a smaller body. Unable to contact help, Ilias runs away, leaving Luka confused.

Luka arrives at the peak to find Hans cornered by a Bunny Slime and two Slime Girls. He manages to fend them off and rescue Hans. On his way back down he comes across Alice, also in a sealed state, who asks if he's seen a rabbit anywhere. Luka can choose to answer yes and refer to the Bunny Slime, or answer no. Alice thanks him and leaves to search for the rabbit.

Upon returning to Ilias Village, Luka is confronted by Sonia, a temple priestess and his childhood best friend who was raised by Lazarus, who scolds him for nearly being late to the baptism. The two head to the Village Chief who thanks Luka for his help. Luka and Sonia then head to Ilias Temple for the baptism. The ceremony takes place, although the priest mentions since Ilias disappeared that the Goddess no longer appears for the ceremony, however as they continue the baptism Ilias suddenly appears before Luka and company and tries to warn him of the upcoming threat again. However, once again her body fades and her message was distorted, and as a result she fails to bless Luka. Luka decides to head on the journey to find his father and face this upcoming threat. After leaving the Temple, Luka learns of a commotion going on at his Mother's Inn, he arrives to find both the Sealed Alice and Sealed Ilias fighting; Luka assumes both are just a monster and young angel imitating the Great Monster Wars, but soon learns that they are both the Monster Lord and the Goddess, respectively. Luka then has to choose which one to take on his journey.

After he chooses, Luka and his new traveling companion head to the Village Chief's house to meet with him and discuss some important matter. Following the meeting, Sonia meets with Luka and decides to join him as well. If the player chose Ilias, Sonia will not recognize Ilias until she is told who she really is. As they're about to leave, a mysterious man named Nero arrives, who talks with Luka about the strong presence of magic in the world that resulted from the Great Disaster. Nero mentions that magic is uncommon where he's from. He then acts confused when he sees Sonia and mentions that Luka had no childhood best friends, leaving everyone confused as he quickly leaves.

The party leaves Ilias Village and heads to Iliasburg. Before they reach the city, they camp out for the night. Luka decides to practice his sword fighting before bed, as no one would train him; even Lazarus wouldn't because his fighting style is too reckless and led to his broken arm. Ilias or Alice decide to train him with Angel or Monster techniques respectively.
If the player chose Alice, she teaches him Demon Decapitation. If the player chose Ilias, she will instead teach him Angel Dance.

After some training and sleep, they continue to Iliasburg. They then encounter a White Rabbit at the city entrance. The White Rabbit mentions Granberia not being here this time, which triggers an illusion in Luka's mind of Granberia. Luka and company attempt to talk with the White Rabbit about her motives and why Granberia was mentioned; the White Rabbit answers that she's here to guide Alice and mentions that she did not cast the Six Ancestor's Great Seal on either Ilias or Alice. After some dialogue, Luka can try to force an elaboration, but this results the White Rabbit summoning a Bunny Slime and two Slime Girls to fight Luka. After the battle, the White Rabbit leaves while accidentally dropping a Key to Hades. Luka and his party are free to explore Iliasburg, where the demo ends.

God dammit. I knew it wouldn't be out so soon, that the tests just started last week, and yet...

*Sigh* Anyway, good initiative.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Do you think he will release in June just as he did for part 3? If i remember correctly, he only gave a release date for part 3 about a month in advance.

EDIT: Thanks for making this thread! So much cleaner :)

On the bright side, the last post seems to indicate that they will be updating the demo soon.

Additionally, I wouldn't expect to wait more than 2-3 months. It seems that the game is more or less done, and they're just working out the balancing and debugging at this point.

Edit: also it looks like in the new demo version, you will be able to take that save data into the actual game and keep your place

The full patch will be the same process, so you should get used to it:

Decrypt the .exe, will yield an "Extract" folder, copy and paste Data and Graphics folders from the Extract folder into the game directory, delete the original .exe, now extract everything from the patch into the game folder, play! :D

Apparently it's being translated by the developer himself (or an overseas company) However, some speculate that this will mean the English translation will not be present on the full game release.

Rogue is no more. Dargoth will be translating.

Actually, the translation was only about MGQ I~III. I would imagine if it's successful, he will translate Paradox also.

Wasn't Dargoth saying he'd make an executable for the full thing? Because I swear I've done all that and it still never wants to work.

I don't think so. He will also never upload the already merged version, because it would require the game. You will probably be able to find someone willing to upload an already merged one, much like MGQ, but not from Dargoth's blog.

I just hope that fewer than 100% of interactions will be "HAHA YOU CAME REALLY FAST YOU ARE SO DUMB AND EMBARRASSING AND SUBMISSIVE".

I love the series, but I seriously can't see how even the diehard subs and shota fans could think that was hot after 400,000 repetitions. Niche porn or not, I assume most players are still heterosexual, dominate-leaning males.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

I'd like to think of it less as "repetitious", and more as a way of bringing similar dialogue for a given person's favored enemy. I mean, I certainly stopped reading all the game over text for each individual monster after the second episode because it was starting to get pretty cringey having to read it over and over. Whenever I found a girl that was interesting, however, I tended to give it another read since I did want to see how she in particular would act. I'd imagine most people view it as a "pick and choose" sort of dialogue also.

It's pretty much a fundamental weakness in MGQ: Introduce as many fetishes as possible, but wrap them all up under a fem-dom/shota fetish. They all end up having the same tendencies, with minor alterations to fit the particular monster. And honestly, there's really little they can do to change that, unless they start introducing less monsters, or expand on the main umbrella fetishes, like Luka actually being a dom, etc.

Personally, I didn't mind it since skip text is a thing, but if they start going the Part 3 route, and start making chimera scenes that take a literal ten minutes to read through, I'd start getting mad too.

Which isn't the niche of monster girl at all. Monster girl genre is typically dominated by femdom - especially as MGQ is still based upon Kenkou's Cross which the monster girls are decidedly in control and far more powerful.

While Paradox Quest has a chance at maybe a more dominate Luka (since you get a lot more control over him), I'd honestly say if it becomes like a forced thing? It'd ruin the entire game. This isn't Rance or something. The game is supposed to be femdom-centric. If Luka starts topping people, it's just kind of spitting all over the genre.
