Re: (7th Dream) Pretty Warrior May Cry (EXPECTED RELEASE DATE 12/10)

Suggestion:
Uh one more "balance" type idea. Could you guys allow the option to lengthen the amount of time between different heroes entering the dungeon? I feel that by the last two chapters in the demo, I always get one big fight in only one spot (near the entrance) since the time it takes to kill or convert heroes far exceeds the rate at which they enter. This would give the effect of spreading the heroes out across the dungeon and allowing you to engage each in a different manner (different monsters). It would also let you dig more of a dungeon and enjoy the levels longer.
This is just my opinion based on the demo, the other chapters you've designed might well be different already.

Don't make your army near the entrance, just dig down really deep, then once the first guy get around half way through the path, drop a monster near your boss, then the monster can pick up the souls and walk toward the guy, the rest of the enemy you can just throw orcs at them to stall for time (again, avoid the area near the entrance so you can actually throw more fodder orcs to prevent further enemies down the line).

Yeah I agree that things can get a bit clusterfuck-ish in the beginning, but to some degree I think they were going for that. If your dungeon has enough turns and dead ends, they're bound to be separated and mercilessly raped.

Re: (7th Dream) Pretty Warrior May Cry (EXPECTED RELEASE DATE 12/10)

I agree with that entirely; if the dev puts the time in, they deserve the money. Personally my problem is that I don't have a credit card unless I bum off of someone... and I'm not exactly gonna call up my bro and ask "hey man, I got a porn game I wanna buy for $20, mind if you let me use your credit card?" So I wind getting it from shares. I don't redistribute the good ones though, 'cuz that's like a slap in the face to the devs, especially if you support them.
Do you not have a checking account? Pretty much any bank will issue a debit card for a checking account, and pretty much any debit card can be used in place of a credit card. It's hard for me to believe that anybody who's allowed to be on this forum (read: over 18) has never had a job or even an account to put money in. Unless your bank is super backwater and old fashioned and doesn't know what a debit card is. I'm curious since I've never had a credit card and I've still been able to give my support to the devs I like for years.

No I don't have a checking account, and the only job I've ever had, (which I lost some time ago and haven't found a new one -_-) payed me in cash. I never bothered with a bank account because I could buy everything in hardcopy.

This did result in fewer online purchases, unless I could convince someone else to use their credit card (see what Alias quoted, minus the porn part).

In the end I just wound up putting off the process of setting up an account untill I had income to store, which would obviously require another job.

So yeah.

I recommend you getting a bank account, having a card is just easier than carrying all the cashes around, and not to mention interests = free money.

If you're in the US, I personally recommend Wells Fargo, they don't charge anything and the card is VISA so it's usable in most of the world.

Found a new bug in that last demo.Sometimes heroes and monster will just move anywhere they want despite the set tunnels. For monsters,it's not game breaking since you can still erase them but for heroes;you can't stop them unless you dig where they are to send a guard directly on them to stop them.Anybody else saw that?

Re: (7th Dream) Pretty Warrior May Cry (EXPECTED RELEASE DATE 12/10)

From my position, I don't understand why people spend money to buy a game they like, then just hurt the game dev by sharing it which bring themself no benefit....
You are not right! This action does bring them material and non-material benefits as well.

They consider the purchasing as an investment. They got 1000 downloads and earn ~$30 without significant further investment. Simplifying: if the the content's price was $20, they just made $10 profit (not to mention the income of ADs on their sites). Anyways, I made some calculations and scenarios in this filed and belive me, it's worth. But I don't want to give anybody detailed ideas because this kind of behaviour morally makes me sick.

This "black-market-of-CRd-contents" is well established, has its own mechanisms and as far as my intuition (because no data is available) is correct it is almost saturated. So for a newbie it is quite hard to enter and the provider actors literally killing each other's site. But it does not solve the dev's problem.

Sources of the problem:
- the existense of the hosts' affiliate-programs => The market leader hosts (MU, RS, MF) stopped these programs. It seems that WU followed them. But there always will be new, emerging hosts who will apply this method in order to increase their market shares. So until the hosts won't be controlled by means of formal (legal) regulation or informal (moral) user acts they will keep motivating those guys to trade with CR contents.
- poverty => I think most of the DLers simply can't afford to buy the product. So we have to eliminate the poverty in the 3rd phase right after the world peace.

Well, it leads so far... so I finish it.

Just one notice. You sad you were a small company with little money and couldn't afford to do huge marketing. Possibly true but I think it doesn't have to be your strategy. Mass production with mass marketing simply doesn't fit to your position. You should find the "blue ocean" in the H-games market concerning the product specification (game style) and the CRM policy. And I think you follow the good path.
- Interactive games (for better game experience)
- English translated games (for the western market)
- Personalization/Costumalization (if you manage to involve the potencial consumers in the process of game development using such forums or your own website you might benefit loyal costumers and the product might satisfy more people)

I won't be hypocrite, I probably won't buy your game in the first round, but I won't share it and will purchase it if I find it exciting enough to support your work as I did in case of the latest MASURAO game.

I'm sorry to be a bother but does anyone have any ideas about the save file problem?

It just refuses to work for me, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Looks like the game was released earlier than expected.

Sadly, it looks like the language is JP only.

Wait I'm tempted to purchase this since the developers do seem to do a decent job, but first I would like to make sure, is there an english version?

I thought they were going to have an english version, is that still happening?

"Please note that this work is in Japanese only. " It says on the dlsite webpage. I'm probably going to wait for 7th Dream to reply and confirm this.

In regards to the short conversation about pirating...

Some people just don't feel that porn or porn games are really worth the investment of money, unless there is a significant amount of depth to the game on top of that. I can tell you now that I don't believe I've ever seen anything on Dlsite I would consider worth more than a dollar or five, if that.

But to be fair, I do tend to be rather miserly, what with waiting an entire year for the price of game to drop, so I can buy something that used to be sixty bucks at twenty. And that's with quality games.

English DL site list it as $20 with the estimated conversion rate.

Still waiting for DLSite's slow download rate . .

Though considering the bigger amount of games on Japanese DLSite, I'm really tempted to just make a japanese account instead >_> I only have a tiny bit of points to use anyway.

What credit card company do you use? My credit card is getting bounced back.

My mastercard also worked on the English DLSITE.
Anyways, be sure to randomly walk around in torture chamber, it gives invisible souls, not sure why.

Okay, BOA is being a bitch. I emailed DLsite and asked if there was a work around. Apparently you can purchase points through Paypal on the G-rated page, then use those points to buy stuff on the Adult section.

Also, do not PM me for the game. I'm one of those people that will support a dev if I enjoy their work and sincerity. If you happen to get your hands on it and want to make money off PPD sites, that is your choice. But, do not expect me to share this game specifically. You can post your link in this thread, but I will not update those links to the first post.

Yes, I am one of those people that will adhere to the wishes of the dev if they come around to the forum.
