Figured I might as well make one instead of answering the same in every thread when someone mentions "but I searched"

Tips on how to not fail at searching:

1. Use 4 letters or longer. Anything with 3 letters or less ('duo', 'ntr') will get ignored by search engine.
On the flip side tho, don't copy a game's full name, sometimes it's longer than what a thread title is allowed. Generally the author or the first 4-6 letters of the name should suffice.

2. Uses RJ number first. Some of you may see some game on English DLSite, which'd link in RE number. Just change that RE to RJ (same number after) and search first.
In all likelihood if that game was good, someone who stalks the Japanese site probably made a thread about it.

Aww you are doing it all wrong. you need to put

"This is a Personal PSA Service Announcement"

Now no one is gonna take this thread serious.

Yeah... dont think this is going to be effective. Just another rage post. Most people know how to google stuff they are just lazy about it.

I searched for PSA, but I couldn't find this thread.

The administrator can reduce the number of letter requirements needed to do a forum search, I asked the admin about that on a different forum that uses vBulletin since searching up anime names like One Piece returned that "too short" error and he changed it.

Re: PSA: How to stop failing at searching.

The answer would be to actually use Google search instead of forum search. It's much more powerful, and it doesn't have limitation of "more that 3 characters".
Hora, first result in a search (at least for me):

Oh, and use part of the Japanese name of the game if you're looking for something a bit more obscure, as they may be titled under the original name instead of a translation/-literation. is quite good for that.

You can also use a wildcard (*) to "fake" a three character search e.g. search for ntr* or *ntr.

Re: PSA: How to stop failing at searching.

I hate how trying to search for battle fuck genre games by using "bf" as my search term fails. If the posters of threads don't write "battle fuck" and only use "bf" then I sure as hell won't be able to find them.

hmm might be a good idea to start tagging Threads. like

Sprite sex
Simulation
Role-playing game
3d Animation
Battle Fuck

Maybe fetish tags or something.

Re: PSA: How to stop failing at searching.

I don't think more extensive tagging will really solve the searching issues, but I do like the idea.

The existing tags for [RPG Maker] [Full Game] [Other] and such are kind of vague. Some specific tags like on DLsite itself might be helpful.

But it might be a pain to maintain.

There's pretty much a thread asking for better tagging a few times a month here, it's always ignored by mods for whatever reason.

Just started a thread on that about a week ago, simply list all the tags we add to threads and give them a definition and terms for people to search up.

He's talking about the tags at the bottom of the thread, not the subject tags.
