Re: Monster Girl Island

Couple bugs I noticed:

Finishing the "Saving Sis" forest event, and then walking back to the forest when you are able to move about in town, restarts the "Saving Sis" event, only this time it's broken. What I expected was to be able to go back to the forest to hunt more bugs or something.

Same thing with the Beach. If I do the Mako scene, then once I'm back in town, decide to go back to the beach and I walk into the "event trigger" area, it does the whole Mako scene over again. This obviously shouldn't happen, but I did enjoy it more because I liked the way it looked at sunset. I wanted to go back to the beach to hunt more fish and get more crabs.
I could never trigger this bug myself but I think I figured out a possible cause that might trigger this reload bug for some people.
I'm uploading a new build that hopefully fixes it right now.

After I saw the scene of Suzu leaving, and Faranne asked what I was doing there, the scene turned white and stayed that way. I had to restart and avoid the scene altogether or else I'd get the same white screen bug again.
First time I hear of that one. Does it really happen every time?

Things I'd love to see implemented in the future:
1. A target reticle when using the crossbow. It's not really needed, but it would help. There's a certain bit added to the immersion when there isn't a targeting crosshair, but I think the functionality of the reticle would help save my sanity when trying to hit bugs.

2. I'd love if it time stopped while I had the inventory open. I'd also love it if items stacked, so it would say I had Log x5 instead of each log taking up an inventory spot, but I can also see why you wouldn't want it that way.

3. Please put the sisters in the same spot for their shops. I was actually getting frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to sell things. I only found out later when I was exploring on my own, and saw them standing next to each other upstairs, that you had to talk to the other sister to sell.. and that she would be somewhere else.

4. Let me play with Faranne after the Mushroom scene. (This is kinda jokingly, as I assume you already have something else planned given what she said and the tooltip on the Red Mushrooms)

5. A map, but not one that just shows everything right from the start. I imagine Ophelia would maybe put something in your phone that creates a map of the island as you explore it. I don't wanna open the map on Day 1 and see "Sunshard Forest" or w/e it was called because that kind of kills the fun for me. I'd want to see "Sunshard Forest" on the map after I learn that it exists in the game and I've spent time there, such as after the whole episode with the Kitsune Sisters.

6. Whenever you add music, sound fx, and voice acting, please let us turn down things if we want. I usually don't like playing with game music, and if there's gonna be voice acting and it's in English, I'm going to want to turn that down too because I'm a weeaboo degenerate.
1. The bolts don't fly straight, so a reticle is just as useful as the tip of the bolt itself, really.

2. Yeah, time probably should stop on inventory like on does in other menus. As for stacking, inventory management is part of the game. You'll be able to buy stashes in the future.

3. I'll probably make more obvious but the shops will get more decoration later on and they are supposed to manage different floors each.

4. I did consider putting a ghost hand there to poke her but people were desperate for the new build, so no time.

5. A live map is super hard to implement without cheap tricks that murder performance. I might add a gps thingy down the line but if not there's at least gonna be a traditional map that only shows the ares you are in, not your exact position.

6. Sure

Overall, I'm still a fan. To me, I'm not paying 5$ for a demo like that other guy said. I'm paying 5$ a month because I support the game and what you're trying to accomplish, which is the whole point of Patreon isn't it?
Keep up the good work and I hope to see more soon. Add a Alraune or Holstaurus. I think you turned down the idea of the demon-type girls like Succubi, but I like those too. I know you don't take requests so I'll just eagerly away for the next vote (if there is one) and hopefully the one I want wins.
[/QUOTE]

Thanks man. there's at least 3 more votings for new girls.
I'm not a fan of Succubi but there's the Faranne Halloween outfit that you can make her use permanently after you unlock the Adeline shop.

WTB an option to avoid pointing the crossbow at Suzu altogether. The way she tilted her head at me and realized what was going on gave me bad feels. :(

Hmmm it says on your Patreon that the demo there is outdated, when are you planning to update that demo?

He's working on Demo 2 right now. I don't remember the specifics, but I think it's supposed to have Day 1-4?

Re: Monster Girl Island

Forgive my ignorance. But what is the progress of this game? Will it ever be release? Are you hiring more staff (voice actors, additional programmers or artist) now that you've over achieved your funding goals? Twenty thousands dollars on Patron is a lot of backing. I know how long the process of making 3D models, animations, then programming everything on Unity can be. But with this huge funding, some progress would be nice.

I've been watching the state of this game since the early days. And so far with all of the demos and extra events. The main core game is still almost exactly the same as day 1. Is this even a game? If so, whats the plan for the game play? What's the plan for the story? I'm pretty satisfied with the quality of the models and animations which showed that you really care about this project. But I think its about time you have some help?

First: you know theres , right ?

second : i'm not a patron, so i havent been able to play any demos beside the public one.
but from what i can tell, the game / the characters look waaaayyy better, he added more characters, costumes, worked on the world itself and how you can interact with it, and so on.
basically, improvements across the boards. Significant improvements.

new patreon demo coming end of this month. Let's hope there's more than one scene since it's another shark girl scene.

The current plan includes a music person (already working on the game) Voice actresses (Gonna need 21 of them) and hopefully an animated opening by a professional team.
Game is already ~30% done. The code of the game is already finished. I'm not hiring artists/animators because... I don't trust them. You will never get me to work with other people on the game if it's not in a physical studio.

About gameplay, if you mean something like a combat system; that was never the plan. I'm not a huge fan of that kind of content in porn games, the idea has been since the very start to make a 3D dating sim/VN with some freedom. The story is already finished on paper.

I know I don't make public posts often and there hasn't been a public demo since the fist one, but honestly at this point I don't care if people think I'm dead. I'd much rather shill the game once it's finished and ready for sale.
The only reason I even post updates on tumblr anymore is for respect to the fans that are waiting for the game and can't pay for patreon, but I don't want to spoil the entire thing on my blog either.

Hope this answers your questions :)

This reminds me a bit of the Zell Fobs game, He posts public demos and updates for free very often and it does start to bore me with how often I've had to complete it to access the new content. If I could be patient and wait until the release It would be on a whole other level in my opinion.

I have yet to spoil myself on monster girl island after the first demo, my preference is into 2d art mainly because of how most 3d games look like (almost a hentai version of unity flip assets with strange jittering animations) but this is extremely well crafted and models look great and smooth. So I'm really hyped and I want it all at once like. :p

Re: Monster Girl Island

The models look noticeably better to me. Were they updated or was there some kind of change in the post-processing?

Either way, looking forward to the end of the month. I didn't like Mako when she was first introduced but I gotta say she's grown on me and I think she's pretty cute now.

Re: Monster Girl Island

Hi Redamz!!! Good to see you posting here :D

Voice actresses (Gonna need 21 of them)
Might I suggest considering fewer but good actresses? A good one won't replace the other 20, but might do 3 or 4 different voices. Even if it was just a deep voice and then a high pitched tone for everyone, that'd reduce the required number by half.

The rest of the answer is very good. Hoping to see an updated demo this year!! Keep up the good work.

PS: I am scared the game won't run on my ancient pc xD Any idea how high the system requirements are at this point?

Re: Monster Girl Island

From a lazy window-shopper's viewpoint, your game looks really bland and
unappealing.. I shall state why.

1. Both links provided show no screenshots of any actual "action" going on.
(If you don't know what I mean by that, you're in the wrong business)

2. OP gives no information on the game's features, beyond a vague
mention of "monstergirls and stuff".. Is it RoR? Is it a dating sim? ect.

3. The title inadvertently forces the game to live up to the standards of
"Monstergirl quest", which throws the dev in a pair of shoes they might
not be able to fill, and they will receive criticism if they don't..

I'm not saying treat your potential customers like horny drooling dogs that
you're throwing a piece of meat to, but for god's sake, throw a bone, at least.

Does your game even have any sex?.. Is the sex consensual? Semi-consensual? Is there rape (either reverse or normal)?
If not, properly advertise/notify of this, to both safely ward away people who might get their hopes up, and
at the same time, appeal to those who do want a "monster girl dating sim"..

Well, there's my two cents..

A two cents from a lazy window-shopper who sounds like he/she hasn't even tried the demo yet is not really much...

Seriously, a free demo on the THIRD link at the very least should've worth a bone, right?

If you're talking about how poor the dev promotes his game outside of the demo, i dare to say that's intentional and just how Redamz is, i mean, you should read how he answers fan's asks on his blog. :D And sometimes, a demo is worth more than thousand of words or hundreds of pics anyway.

Re: Monster Girl Island

by "lazy window-shopper" do you mean someone who only saw the itch.io page?

I'm a bit confused because if you actually looked at his , you'd see plenty of "action" and a lot of posts about different features and you'd figure out what the game playstyle is like by putting two and two together after playing Demo 1 and reading a bit of the blog. Even for a new person who only checked the itch.io page, it links to both blog and the Patreon from there. There's not much you can show to the public on Patreon because of their new-ish rules on pornographic content, you'd have to pledge to see it, but like I said before, there's plenty of that stuff on the blog.

I'm not shitting on you or anything, and I don't want you to read this post like I'm angry or lashing out at you, cause I'm not. It does make me curious about the difference between viewpoints of a patron and a non-patron, though. I guess most followers would have only played Public Demo 1 and then might not have even known about the website.

Point 3 is subjective or perhaps just depends on the individual's experience with the monstergirl genre. There are hundreds of monster girl games now, and the genre has exploded enough to the point that there are anime made about it and the genre is more than just "MGQ and then a load of shit". I've been following the genre forever though and I even only joined this site because of Architect's old RPG game based off of KC's Monster Girl Encyclopedia from like 2009-2010 or something lol.

Re: Monster Girl Island

I speak for those whom fans, patrons, and even forum lurkers would
scoff at, but never admit to being once in a while..

If you want a more-solid title for them other than "lazy window shoppers",
I guess you could call them the "Click n' Scrollers"..

The people who visit this forum, head straight for the "hentai games"
section, look at the section, pretend they don't see all the RPG-related
games, click on the first [Incomplete], [Other], or [Full Game] thread they
see, and whisper a small silent prayer in their heart that it's a platform-based
possibly even RoR, hentai game, before looking at the first 5 or so posts, to
help identify what the game actually is.

Usually I too look down on those who don't bother with details and lumber
through a procedure trying to mine for gold in a tin mine, but we all do it
at some point in our lives.. And I'm sure there's a large number of people
out there who do that.. People with wallets.. And money.. And knowledge
on how to buy games and/or donate money.

My point I was trying to get across was, not taking that extra step to make said
game visible and clear to the laziest of gamers, essentially cuts out a fraction of
your potential customers.. You can scoff at me or them all you want, but
they exist, and if you aren't getting their attention, they aren't buying your game.

Yeah because if those people aren't buying then this game will be done for sure. :p

It's their lost really. If you can't even bring yourself to read first post fully and try the demo, you only got yourself to blame.
Please, don't let us gaming community (H and Non-H alike) to be reduced to a bunch of lazy-ass that wants everything to be spoon-fed to them.

Okay, rant aside, you click-n-scroller probably didn't even bother, but i hope you realize that this game is still under development, and will be commercialized when it's finished. So there are nothing stopping Redamz to actually advertise and promote this game for real and serious after it's actually done, you know? I'm actually happy he's focusing more on finishing the game than trying to rake as much money as possible right now.
