David, in the original game, was a mechanic, and his special ability in the game was combining all sorts of items into makeshift weapons for the team. He was also skilled in using a knife, as he had a combo attack that greatly damaged normal zombies, while everyone else only slashed once.

David's background is unknown, much like his background in this game, because he was never the talkative type.

I've got Claire up there because he was with the Emily/Iris duo, though seeing as how she's interested in learning more about guns and how they work, that's a draw. There's also the XY curiosity factor (considering every other man-folk is just gone!) though she's quickly figuring out just how he survived.

It was an exception, the problem with creating more characters is that you're adding on weight both IC (affecting the item stores, after all, you need more items now) and OOC (if everyone is allowed to have a second character, it's that much more work for the GM), plus I feel it's kinda unfair to the other players :/

The biggest problem is how do you prepare groups and players so that you don't have lots of delays and active players waiting for hours between posts, compared to less active players that only toss down their one post per hour and are happy with that pace.

The solution is how parties are organized and how RJ treats each grouping. I think players should hint at their posting speeds for the day and how active they intend on being for the duration of a mission, that way players with multi-hour delays on their posts don't get joined with players who can post four times an hour.

Additionally, the "rescue" missions can be bumped into a "high priority" rating, and re-geared towards players who want to be highly active for until the mission is over. That way no one ever NEEDS to have a 2nd character since the first ones will be rescued often.

Being clear about 1) the mission you want, 2) how often you're going to be on 3) when you're going to be on and 4) how many others still need to sign up (as a 'hint hint, you guys, join up!') is a good way to get going. Being patient and taking charge of the group OOCly (as in, taking responsibility for PMing RJ and getting everyone who's expressed interest) is good if you're having trouble getting going. :D

He made a post recently about how it changed. It's no longer a standard currency, probably due to trades and clothes fixing, and people buying weapons they weren't capable of using. Now it's more of a basic but vague idea in that, you can get weapons you're skilled with and it's all pretty much just based on whether or not you've been helping out

Of course. Luna's learned that bullets are virtually uneffective against the goddess, so she'll most likely focus on honing her sword skills instead. Also as Iris is "honorable"... she wouldn't accidentally trigger Luna's "THY SINS SHALL BE PURGED" fanaticism so... why not?

Oh yea, I feel a "we win... but there's a tentacle god born anyway, and we all get very nearly raped on our way out" vs "we lose, get raped... the tentacle god gets born, kills the woman we were fighting, and very nearly rapes us on our way out" coming on....

And Jenn will probably sign up regardless of appropriateness once she gets back... today she wasn't quite ready to try to do something important, but once she gets a little bit of a feel for the situation I'll probably have a harder time justifying to myself *failing* to do storyline and only storyline missions then the other way around. She isn't the most... altruistic... person in the world. She'd help a random survivor if she ran into one, or a friend, but she's not going to go out of her way to round up death cultists or whatever.

(Yea, if Jenn hadn't asked for help in the inn, Ritter would be in the sewers by now :P)

Also I had a question for RJ about the dangers night-time: is it "you get abducted into a breeding den in a cutscene" type thing, or is it a "there are things about that your characters just won't beat" or "there are so many things about you won't be able to breathe for all the penis"... and in particular would it be feasible for someone to try a multi-day scouting mission, holing up in a building or something with at least one partner to take watches with?
