Kayi I really think you should reconsider what you're about to do to your character.
The small amount of power you're going to get isn't worth it.

I've tried to reconsider it a dozen times, and RJ finally told me very blatantly this morning, NO.

If Azure ends up dead from this, then I'll just remake a new character that is less inquisitive and eager to solve everything, and more of a background character with the ability to randomly shoot monsters.

Nope, three stat points aren't worth that at all. The plot she's being pushed into is causing it though. Even her actions right now are inevitably leading to the events I've described.



The other solution, of course, is I stop playing Azure and make a new character right now, but I hardly like any of these options.

Last I checked, the survivors could improve their weapon and others skills while the inspired couldn't.

Originally, I've been against this option from the onset and going out of my way to not need to do it.

But now that you mention it, this is likely the best idea, as each new mission Azure attempts is met with more resistance than the last, no matter how bland and unimportant it is.

We're not talking about the "main character" though. We're talking about a character that fits the game.

Just like Azure at the moment doesn't fit the Survivor class.
That's why I'm going to just change her stats to better suit what she's going to be. At least until RJ decides to kill her or jail her for life, or whatever he's going to do to her after she kills a few of his Inn NPCs.

Not just because of her class not fitting, but all of her failed attempts at missions, encouraging others, every single thing Azure has attempted.

Very disheartening. Makes it easier to simply accept "Okay, so Azure's going to be a Futa... what would she do, how would she feel... Alright, here's what she'd do."

I don't mind being ineffective in combat. I didn't even want combat Inspired Skills when I was still considering becoming Inspired.

But as part of being non-combat, there are certain things Azure wanted to do.

And she got shunned from doing it EVERY TIME.


P.S. RJ, can we finish the "More Survivors?" mission? The sooner it ends, the sooner Azure can make her decision to return to the Inn and kill everyone there to protect her new home.

Everyone needs to relax a bit. As the least mature person here at times, that should really say a lot about the insanity going on here.

I admit I'm being a bit pissy about RJ's stubbornness of not letting certain kinds of character changes take place, but to be totally honest, Azure was likely going to try to kill Jesse anyhow. It's already what the plot has been leading her to try.

It was very childish of me to say that RJ not letting me change my class was going to lead to that. So everyone just politely return to whatever it is you were doing before.

The main problem I have is that I don't know what to do.

I'm having a lot of fun playing my character, just accidentally walked her into a few situations where she lost most of her stamina, I do regret not taking more points in search and talking skills, but I go "eh, whatever.". I did want Selena to have something to do with Azure, because I did find her ideas genuinely interesting, and was actually going to have Selena go on a mission to find the objects that Azure wanted, partially because I can think of a decent IC reason for her to want to find the stuff, and because OOC, I wanted her to build a relationship with Azure.

The problem I'm having right now is I want to side with both people, in this case Kayi and RJ, Kayi because I consider her a friend (I dunno if this is a one way thing though), and I think she's a pretty good player, she makes far more interesting characters then I do. I do understand some of the fustrations she's going through and personally there are some parts of the game that's causing me to get a little fustrated (mostly player related).

On the other hand though, I feel this whole thing is quickly blowing out of proportion. I think there are ways to get through this which won't result in Kayi going suicidal with Azure and attempting to kill half the NPCs in the inn and replacing her with a much less interesting character. That and I think Kayi should give RJ a little more leeway, because as far as I know, this is RJ's first eRP/PBP GM attempt, and thus she should be a little more gentle. >:

I admit, I blow things out of proportion at times, but if you saw the extent of my conversations to try to avoid causing this exact conflict, you'd understand my frustration.

Simply put: Her goals seem to be outside the scope of what RJ wants to allow.


So I'm going to make it easy.

Azure is at a point where she can be "retired" from the game. She can decide to stay at the jail and not return, giving in to becoming a member of that group and never returning to an active role.

I'm going to leave it up to everyone else to decide, starting with RJ.

A- Azure retires. I make a new character, one that's as flat as can be so she won't risk having a personality that conflicts with any NPCs.

B- Azure continues on her current path until it's end, whatever that may be.

C- Azure gets her "miracle" action, as suggested by RJ in our PM conversations, and her inspired trait is Visions, which she immediately uses to figure out why the director is the way she is. Hopefully solving things so Azure can stay in play and not want to destroy the Inn.

Or- Something else. Good luck with that.

Quick reply to everyone thinking I only want things my way.

I've been trying very hard to avoid causing conflicts at every turn up until this happened. I came up with three different missions (and dropped every one of them when RJ showed he didn't want to run them), tried to talk to my contact (only to get rejected by him and fire him), attempted to go on missions that weren't Azure's at all, just to get along with the Inn (which caused the mission to stall out. Twice.). Got bitched out for firing my contact, and had an extended OOC protest against me because of it that nearly got out of hand (including RJ insisting I should just use my contact at one point). And even to avoid THIS conflict spilling out, I tried to take this request up entirely with RJ in PMs only before I finally let it spill out into the thread here.


If you want to really see a perfect example of why I'm so angry with everything... Look at the "More Survivors?" thread where I asked RJ if Azure's hotel is nearby. He tells me that it's entirely the fuck across town and there's no way she can get near it on this mission.

Then in almost no time after, River wants to go home, and suddenly her home is miraculously right on the way, and she gets an armed escort of three super-twinked girls, plus the three of us, that let her march to her home and she collects all of the little things she wants, while the girls politely offer "Oh, anything that we took we'll gladly return back at the jail!"



So if any of you want to make fun of me for it all... you're not worth my time. So run along now you little (edited out for content). Go play your little "Press A for character depth" games, because this kind of roleplaying seems to be beyond you.

I, for one, prefer any attempts at actually playing characters to "Let's go loot. I shoot the monster. I bring the loot back." for the 50th time of the night.

In real life just cause somebody isn't useful at one point of their life, they won't get dumped. Just cause YOU are not near to where YOU want to be doesn't mean OTHERS can't be near where THEY want to be. I find your character depth sudden and lacking sense. One minute she wants to have a slime pet the other she wants to make a newspaper, you are advancing things by yourself when RJ himself is not ready for such things, and it's ok as long as your plans get on it's way because it keeps your 'character developement' going. I am not trying to insult you but could you make your character developement easier or simple to follow? It doesn't need a whole lot to affect someone's character. Adding trouble to someone's life could turn a cheerful person to a serious that can't take a joke. You are thinking too much into changing Azure herself, not her personality. Hell, Lin was suppose to be insane at 1st but guess what? Now she has a sister to deal with and she can barely last a minute without thinking about her condition. Now would you mind calming down and sticking to one plot point at a time? Or try to think of a way to insert your 'character developement' into RJ's mission instead creating a new mission where it only suits your needs?

On that note, Luna's greatest weakness is probably her fanaticism and tendency to obssess... as well as her utter disdain for her life otherwise. (Although Fleur doesn't realize it).

We aren't debating over whether BurntToast can give Aya those skills. We're debating over how Aya came to be.

That's what you're supposed to give him when you make up the background to your character. It's not just RJ writing up a story for you to read... you need to add to it as well.

After about a year Aya managed to get out of the hospital she was sent to, she grew determined to protect herself, and sweet-talked both her family and the range owner into letting her have pistol lessons. Both have since seen her vindicated, as this rather waif-like child has developed into a champion target-shooter.

Now in the present Aya spends most of her time around the mansion where she is reading or writing, or shooting. She spends a lot of time with her shooting instructor on the range who still helps her. She still doesn't see much of her parents, her younger brother, now sixteen, is always out with friends and her twenty six year old sister moved away a while ago. Now and again Aya goes out with friends.

Aya is pretty weak, psyically, due to the shots she got at the bank on that horrid day. She really can't lift or move heavy things that well nor can she take much of a bonk on the noggin. Aya has been trying to get psyically stronger recently, but hasn't seen much results.

How's that?I think it's good, but I think you should try and rewrite that second paragraph entirely in your own words. Somehow I get the feeling you'd never use a word like "vindicated".:p
