Deep into the depths of the abandoned Dolvehk mines ventured three companions. One was a reptilianne humanoid, the other was an elven human, the last was a rather cheerful human girl. All of them had the same goal, to assssainate the important leading government officials in the Dolvehk Quarantine Zone. According to their map, they were nearing their entry point. All they needed to do now was determine who would use their portable seismic scanner to detect to area on the wall of the upcoming mine tunnel where they should place the seismic charges, and most importantly, who would place the charges.

Delphi Yanked out her scanner and started looking for the spot in the wall best for blasting. If everything worked out they could be in, out, and enjoying a good drink back topside. "Shall we get started?" she asked her fellows in a cheerful voice.

Rasp nodded, his reptilian features not well suited to more detailed facial expression. "Go for it. Take your time though, do it right." He said, noting the exxcitement in her movements.

Pulling a small bag from her back, Niah opened it to reveal a few bricks of explosives. Looking at her companions, she brushed a strand of hair over one of her pointed ears.
"Let's just get this done," she said quietly, waiting for the locations for the explosives.

Using the portable seismic scanner, :Delphie quickly found the weak spot in the wall to set the explosives.

Peering over Delphie's shoulder, Niah noted where the weak points of the structure were. She put one of the bombs in front of the human and slapped her shoulder.
"Help me out a bit will you?" she said, before taking the rest and moving to the other weak points, quickly arming the small bombs.

Rasp kept watch, sniffing the stale air warily. He wasn't expecting anything yet, but with the other two dealing with the entrance, he took the last job available.

Delphi helped, moving quickly in the opposite direction to set the charges before clearing with her team and arming he detonator, Handing this to her Lizard friend with the happy statement "would you do the honors?"
Shrike7
21st February 2012, 18:38
Rasp takes the detonator with a toothy grin. "Clear." He says softly, waiting for the others to find some cover. "Fire in the hole, on three." He said, slowly counting down before hitting the detonator. They felt the immediate pressure change, as well as the rumble of an imminent cave-in. "Move!" He called out, running for the opening himself...

Delphi was quick on his heels through the breach, landing lightly and scanning her surroundings, trusting her companions to take care of themselves.

Niah was not far behind Delphi, landing gracefully and pulling on her optical glasses to get a good look at her surroundings.

The party emerges through the collapsing hole and in through the side wall into a long hallway. The hole collapsed behind them, leaving them trapped there. At one end of the long industrial hall, they hear the echoing sound of a few sentry/maintainence drones hovering from around a corner.

23rd February 2012, 05:24
Rasp was immediately assaulted by scores of unfamiliar smells once they made it through. Would probably take him a while before he could sort through them well enough to be useful. Hearing though, was just as keen as ever. He looked over at the direction the maintenance drones were coming from, likely about the same time the other two did. Letting out a huff to clear his nostrils and keep him from sneezing, he started in the other direction, looking for a side passage or doorway for them to sneak into until the place calmed down again, wrapping his clawed hand around the grip of his pistol, just in case...

Delphi trusted Rasps abilities and followed his lead, readying her wire as she moved close to the wall behind him, "We need to hide, quick. If this turns violent early it risks botching the whole job!" she whined, shaking her head a little and moving as quietly as possible...
Sinfulwolf
23rd February 2012, 21:18
Niah removed her rifle from her shoulder, pulling the scope nestled on the top to the side for the closer ranges. She followed close behind the other two, whilst making sure her silencer was attached properly after the explosion. Seeing that it was, she prepared herself to fight, even while hoping they'd all be able to get by unnoticed.

23rd February 2012, 22:14
As they ran down the hallway, they see themselves approaching a dead end. Before this, they notice two doors on each wall and a large maintainence pipe running vertically through the floor and ceiling There was a large access hatch on the pipe that a person could fit through. Judging by the rate at which the drones were apporaching, whatever option they pick, they would have to stick with it, or risk being discovered by the drones.
Courage Wolf
23rd February 2012, 22:34
"Well! Doors are a tad to obvious..." Delphi said with entirely too much cheer and gesturing towards the pipe. "But thats just my humble opinion" the bubbly assassin said stifling a giggle...
Sinfulwolf
23rd February 2012, 23:11
"Then get the bloody access hatch open," Niah said as she ran, turning and moving backwards in case she needed to cover their further descent.
Courage Wolf
24th February 2012, 00:01
"Okay!" Delphi said brightly as she began to work on the hatch, forcing the thing open with surprising strength, given that she didn't use projectile weapons it made sense that she was in peak form.
Shrike7
24th February 2012, 03:27
Rasp took the time while Delphi opened the hatch to inspect what he could of the doors, looking for labels, or a window to peek in, anything to indicate what lay behind them, listening for voices over the sound of the other two team members talking and working at the pipe. If the maintenance drones were faster than they thought, they may have to duck into a door anyways.
"I'll go through first, I should be able to wedge myself enough to support all our weight, I doubt we want to go further down than where we already started." He said, his 's' sounds sibilant, but not overly stretched, as some may expect when speaking to a lizard. He had never decided why people thought like that...
Distracting himself from the useless train of thought, he focused on planning ahead. They were already near to the bottom-most levels, down was definitely not the way they wanted, with their targets in the upper reaches of the upper level. If the pipe was built to allow access, there's be a handle on the inside as well, letting them close it easily to hide, and open it again once the drones had passed by. There was also the option of shimmying up the pipe, though travelling through it in either direction was likely a bad idea...

After applying a bit of force, :Delphie manages to open the curved hatch door on the large pipe. Much to the party's surprise, the inside of the pipe was fleshy and reddish-pink. The entire inside of the pipe was easily comparable to that of the inside of a human's intestines. It was a tight squeeze both up and down the squishy inside of the pipe, and nothing seemed to be flowing through it at the time. As Rasp examined the doors, he discovered that they were all locked and had no windows. The drones were close to nearing the corner; They need to act fast.
Shrike7
25th February 2012, 03:38
As soon as Delphie had the hatch open, Rasp stopped his examination of the doors, the effort proving fruitless in any case. He stopped just before climbing in, examining the fleshy substance for a second. it smelt... wrong, somehow. No time for second guessing, however, so he climbed in and down far enough to let the other two in above him, then dug himself as far into the walls as he could, relying on just pressure at the moment, but digging in with the claws on his hands and feet at the first sign of anything going awry. Once everyone had clambered in, he spoke again. "Close the hatch, quickly..." He muttured.
Sinfulwolf
25th February 2012, 08:29
Niah slid into the pipe closely behind Rasp, climbing up slightly to give Delphie room to push in and close the door behind them all.

25th February 2012, 09:48
After squeezing into the odd pipe Delphi puts a finger to her lips and stays perfectly still. there was no real telling how long it would take for the drones to pass but waiting was a skill in and of itself and although muffled by the fleshy interior of the pipe, the loud buzzing of the sentries was still quite distinguishable...

As the party shut themselves the fleshy tube, they found themselves unable to hear outside the pipe. As they remained propped up in the pipe, they found the walls getting more and more slick with a mucousy fluid. The longer they remained still in the tube, the more they slipped down it. They'd have no problem shimmying up the tube despite the mucous membrane coating the sides.
Courage Wolf
28th February 2012, 03:07
Delphi did her best to stay still in the pipe, but her hands were slipping, some slimy coating was starting to slicken up the meaty walls of the pipe and she was starting to slide down. She was still pretty confident she could move up, and that WAS where the target was, but it was unwise to move without the team... "Guys, I know you wanted to stay still but~ Up or Down, if we wait too long I'm pretty sure this strange pipe will choose for us" The usually happy assassin sounded a little worried and fidgeted in the pipe...

"I could dig in and keep us here, but the damage may draw attention." Rasp informed them from the lowest of the three positions. "My vote goes to Up."
Sinfulwolf
28th February 2012, 06:27
"Up it is," Niah said, using her hands and feet to pull herself up the tube, feeling the slick mucous sliding over her mostly exposed flesh. She grimaced in disgust, but continued upwards, not letting it concern her overly much.
Courage Wolf
28th February 2012, 06:49
Deliah was only too happy to move up the slick tube, not minding the slick coating at all, just happy to be moving

The party didn't slide far down the intestine-like tube before they decided to ascend up the pipe. As they climbed, their senses of smell were clouded by the fleshy smell of the tube they were climbing. Every 15-30 meters, a massive surge of dark-colored sludge torrented down the pipe, covering the entire party in the thick, foul-smelling goop. Despite the force of the sludge surging down ontop them, the sludge helped them stick to the walls better.
Shrike7
28th February 2012, 22:48
Rasp climbed steadily, his larger form making it harder to maneuver, but also giving him more grip on the fleshy walls of the tube they were in. At every interval when the sludge came down, he would stop and cover his weapons with his body, preventing as much of the gunk as possible from getting on them, worried specifically about the pistol, where it may gum up the inner workings.

28th February 2012, 23:00
Delphi just keeps on moving, the job came first, the contract was more important, and despite the disgusting sludge sliding down the pipe Delphi was happy to moving in the right direction, still though, it was going to take forever to get the nasty shit out of her hair...
Sinfulwolf
1st March 2012, 02:33
Scrunching up her nose, Niah continued to climb, thankful for the closed chamber on her rifle that would make cleaning it a matter of purely wiping the outside clean.
Still, despite the ease of the climb, the smell was horrendous and she'd would be more than happy to the hell out of this tube.
Iggy
1st March 2012, 22:11
After hours of ascending the pipe, they eventually notice a faint outline in the fleshy lining of the pipe of an exit hatch. Also, they notice that the higher they climb, the fouler the stench becomes.
Courage Wolf
1st March 2012, 22:50
Delphi looks down at her companions and quietly makes known the location of the hatch, "What do you think? Out of the pipe?"
Shrike7
2nd March 2012, 02:27
"Please." Rasp answers wryly from the bottom of the group. The stench was bad, but even more unbearable for him.
Sinfulwolf
2nd March 2012, 20:29
"Just open the damn thing," Niah said, feeling the foul sludge sliding down her back and over her arms. She couldn't help but shudder at the sensation as she paused to wait for the hatch to be opened.

3rd March 2012, 05:07
Delphi carefully opened the hatch and looked outside, looking for anything that may pose a danger to her or her companions...

:Delphie opens the door to see a large pipe coridor lined entirely with thick wires.
Lazy post is lazy.
Courage Wolf
6th March 2012, 16:38
Delphi's tone becomes serious as her face hardens, "Clear, 5 second intervals" she whispers moving out into the corridor quietly. The other two would give a 5 count each before moving out, that way should something go immediately wrong not everyone would be caught. Moving low and near the wall Delphi keeps her eyes and ears open for any sign of alert or danger...
Sinfulwolf
10th March 2012, 20:11
Taping her finger silently against the wall to keep count, Niah pulled herself up and out of the tube just as she hit five. Breathing in... not so rancid air, the assassin moved to one of the walls, trying to keep out of sight should anything start bounding up the corridor.
Shrike7
11th March 2012, 05:41
Rasp climbs up to the exit of the pipe as well, timing it so he rolls out right on the five count, taking a position against the same wall Delphi was using. His gun was likely to jam until her had a chance to clean it, so he drew a knife instead, keeping his other clawed hand free.

The party emerges from the pipe undetected and trave down the wire-lined corridor. After about 5 minutes of travel, they reach a dead-end in the pipe. Before turning back, they notice a small exit hatch in the floor. Upon opening it, they descend down a smal ladder onto an mostly rusted metal catwalk secured underneath the large, pipe-shaped corridor they were just in. The room they were in, for lack of better words, was MASSIVE. The catwalk they were on ran parallel to one of the walls of the room, and the wall on the other side was far off in the distance. There was a wall close-by in the direction they just came from in the pipe corridor on which was a large metal doorway at the end of the catwalk. The wall on the other side of the catwalk was barely visible and very far off.
Most importantly, far below the catwalk, making up the floor of the room was a swirling vortex of sand and water mixing together as they poured down a central drain. Pipes on opposite corners of the room fed sand and water into the room, continuously addining it to the mixture. There was a small rusted plaque fastened to the railing of the catwalk which served as a directory of sorts. According to the sign, the door at the closest end of the catwalk leads to the Waterworks and the door at the furthest end of the catwalk leads to a Transit Station.
Shrike7
12th March 2012, 01:36
The reptilian man looks over the area and the plaque with curiosity. "Transit station may be best, depending on what we can find of the people down here." He says slowly. "Parhaps check the other option first?"
Courage Wolf
12th March 2012, 16:08
Delphi thinks for a minute before speaking. "I doubt letting anyone know that we are here is the best option. I vote sabotage to create a sufficient distraction for us to make it farther up. But we need to do some reconnaissance first, find out what they where and how to blend. I doubt you will blend at all Rasp." The seemingly ditzy assassin has revealed why she's been trusted to take the job, despite all appearances she's actually quite intelligent. "Regardless we need information that we simply don't have and until we do I don't think we can make a good move. Guessing is a fools game..."
Sinfulwolf
13th March 2012, 05:20
"We should find a vantage point, get a good look at what's going on. Rifle here has some good sights for me to see without getting us exposed," Niah said carefully, crouched in the shadows.
Sinfulwolf
5th April 2012, 20:13
"The area around the waterworks should provide a decent vantage point, and cover to get some recon done. Let's move," Niah said quickly and shortly, starting to make her way towards that destination.
Shrike7
6th April 2012, 03:24
"Agreed." Rasp said quietly, staying to the midddle of the group and halting before crossing any corners. So long as he wasn't the first one seen, they should be able to fake any encounters long enough to quiet whatever found them before an alarm was raised.
Courage Wolf
9th April 2012, 03:58
Delphi was silent but brought up the rear, being cautious and moving quietly. Hopefully they wouldn't be spotted, but it never hurt to have someone quick in the back to adapt swiftly to any number of situations.
Iggy
15th April 2012, 03:38
As the trio make their way towards the Waterworks, Niah, who was leading the group, stepped on a particularly rusty portion of the catwalk, her weight causing the catwalk to collapse entirely below her, setting of a slow chain-reaction of knocking the rusty catwalk behind her loose from the supports. The catwalk that Rasp And :Delphie now stood on began to angle downwards.
What should they do?
Courage Wolf
18th April 2012, 16:45
Delphi always put the mission first, Always, So when she tried to grab Rasp and jump backwards off of the collapsing Catwalk it should have come as no surprise. They were here to make a kill, risk was inherent in the job, and She would return for Niah as soon as the opportunity presented itself, but she had a head to collect...
Sinfulwolf
20th April 2012, 21:27
As she began to fall, Niah slipped her rifle behind her on its sling, and grasped at the collapsing metal, desperately pulling herself up to grasp at the jutting edge now above her. She winced as rusted metal cut into her palms, blood flowing down her forearms, but still she moved to pull herself back up, now seperated by a gap in the walk way from her comrades.
Shrike7
21st April 2012, 00:02
The lizardman took the offered hand, his other moving to the collapsing railing as he threw himself backwards to avoid the collapsing section of catwalk, backing off to a safe distance and waiting for the disturbance to settle before speaking. "I don't have a line." He said simply, staring at the gap. Most likely too far to leap, and the edges were likely prone to further collapse in any case.
"Unknown territory, no way to communicate, no known landmarks. The upper area likely follows some sort of light cycle to simulate day and night. We'll look for any kind of gathering or recreational area, nearest one we can find to the center of the dome, and try to meet up there. Check every day cycle, as close to 'noon' as possible. Does that work for everyone?" Rasp said quickly, checking behind them to see if they drew the attention of whatever had come to check on their initial entrance.
